I actually just finished reading The Last Playboy: The High Life of Portfirio Rubirosa. It's a really solid book and I'd definitely recommend if you want to learn more about the man.

Also, if anyone has any other really good biographies on other international playboys, please share. I'm always up for a good read.

Yeah, the interesting part is that there aren't a whole lot of "secrets" to his success.

Rubi essentially fell into his position as an international playboy by being in the right place at the right time. He had connections within the Dominican Republic government through his first marriage to Rafael Trujillo's daughter at age 23.

He became a foreign ambassador for the DR, which allowed him to travel frequently. He then married several of the richest women in the world, which helped him finance his expensive lifestyle.

His life was built up through his connections, charm and active lifestyle (polo, car racing, partying hard).

He dated Zsa Zsa Gabor but beat her up when she got married to some rich dude (Hilton I believe).

You guys see how ALL international playboys that lived their whole lives as playboys always had mad cash? I cant think of one international playboy who was on low income and survived in this game for too long. Gotta get your cash right young fellas.

Don't know anything about the J-lo guy.

And I do agree with your premise. I only disagree that Jesse James was a good example of a player with no money, since the fact is he had tons of cash. In my book, having tons of cash, disqualifies you from the "having no cash category", regardless of how bad your style is.

Now if you were going to use him of an example of someone with a lame biz and bad style that swooped lots of girls, then I would agree with you whole heartedly.

In regards to Jesse James (and not the Outlaw, the modern weesh one):

To set the record straight, I did not swoop the Exotic with tattoos that he did.

I did swoop one of her friends that was way more fly though.

So "technically", I have a win over Jesse James.
