LOL, guys this is a VERY VERY small subculture in Japan. And if you notice, hardly any of these girls speak English. Ichi-Maru-Kyu (Shibuya 109) will make your fucking head spin. It's got the most incredible density of hot chicks I've ever seen. It's unreal. Unmatched anywhere in the world, with the exception of Riga Old Town or perhaps Moscow. But if you don't speak J you will get dissed. American In Europe told it like it is. A black man can get laid every night of the week doing the hip-hop circuit. I was stationed there for in Tokyo for four years as well and he is absolutely right, the majority of those women are not the hottest in Tokyo and have had their fair share of sailors and airmen.

You do need to learn Japanese and hang out in spots away from the gaijin circuit and the military crowd. There are plenty of black men in Japan who have HOT J's as girlfriends and they didn't meet them at the hip-hop spots and most of these guys speak Japanese. It's not a requirement to speak Japanese but it helps your chances immensely if you do. The hottest J's I had were met through other J friends. Liberdade in Sao Paulo is the largest community of Japanese outside of Japan in the world. I believe they started immigrating there around the turn of the century (1900s) to work. It's always interesting to see a person of one race/ethnicity raised in the culture of another.

lived in Japan for seven years and spoke fluent Japanese. He eventually hooked up with an amazing woman and has two little and they now live back in the states.

He did his time in the hip hop circuit but as his Japanese improved, so did his circle of Japanese friends and from there the quality of women rocketed up.

There are words for girls in Japan that love foreigners and English speakers in particular. Eigo-Bandit, Gaijin Groupie, etc. It is not too hard to hit this demographic but the quality suffers. I think the solution to this is to leave Tokyo, and go to a city where there's little or no gaijin. Of course, it never hurts to be conversational in the local language...that's true of any non-English speaking country.

No need to leave Tokyo. Tokyo is a metropolitan area of approximately 30 million people. There are plenty of areas to go and not be around foreigners. Even with Yokota AB, Atsugi NAS, Yokosuka NS, Camp Zama, and a few other military bases plus the Multi-national corporations. The majority of Tokyo is gaijin free.
