I saw this in the OKCupid test and couldn't believe anyone would get the answer wrong ... until I didn't match answers with one nearby woman. I suspect this is the type of question that men get more easily than women. Please don't post answers in this thread. If a woman can't answer this correctly, is she simply too stupid to date?

Haha, I had to think a moment for the answer, of which I'm still not 100% certain, and my IQ is high, but my spatial reasoning is terrible. The average IQ of women is probably the same as men's, but their spatial ability is significantly worse than men's.

It's funny though when chicks deem answers besides their own unacceptable, when they got the answer wrong. Eg that one that goes like, 'if post is 1234, what is stop?'

I try to make a genuine effort with these kind of questions, and while I'm clever my spatial reasoning is also poor. I wouldn't judge anyone on them, IQ is like a drop in the bucket compared to actual important traits like warmth, friendliness and etc.

Doesn't surprise me at all. A lot of women have trouble with spatial thinking. You know me though, I don't like em too smart -- which is why I don't bother much with any of the questions aside from dating & sex.

Never let a bitch deal with directions. This broad had a GPS on her smartphone while walking around the city trying to find a particular cafe for 15 minutes before I snatched it off her and got us there in like two.

OKCupid used to have a mandatory (but now optional) sequencing question that could fool some people that went like this: 84729 is to 87429 as BLHAQ is to ....

I am happy to say this question is optional because I wonder if it's really important for me (as a guy who is more interested in having sex than being in a relationship right now) to disqualify potential lays based on things that don't really matter to me.

Hell, even if I was looking for relationship material, this sort of question would most likely not lead me to the type of girl I want anyway. I want someone affectionate and beautiful, and with enough smarts to get herself around a city without a chaperone. How would the algorithm geeks at OKCupid quantify that? Especially when they are as politically correct as they are?

If they asked questions like "How important is it to you to be with a girl who likes to take care of her man?", then we'd have a matching system that actually produced some decent results (at least in my book).

The only question that produces the type of girl I am looking for at this point has to do with birth control and contraceptives.

OKCupid is sitting on the biggest fucking trove of data ever amassed by man. Surveys are incredibly boring, because there's always so shallow. "45% of Americans shower two to three times a week." The thing with OKCupid's data is that you can tie a person's answer on any one question to their answer on any other. There is something similar, known as the General Social Survey, but it's nowhere near as massive.

They found that, for instance, of all the non-sexual questions, the one that predicted stated willingness to bang on the first date, among girls is "do you like the taste of beer?" I'd looove to get a part of that data. So much fun to check if certain stereotypes are true - are white girls kinkier than black girls? who bangs the most? Do Jewish girls care more about money than non-Jewish girls? I think they share this with academics occasionally, maybe I can hustle something...

Apparently OKC has a new 'Success' feature where they show photos of their 'successes.' And it's nearly impossible to find ones where the guy clearly dated/married up.

I don't even attempt to get directions from them anymore. Just give me your address so I can pull it up on a map. I also meet up with them somewhere so they can follow me back to my place. I start getting annoyed when they take the wrong turn over and over while I'm on the phone with them.
