I always read stories of broke guys in places like Thailand, who used to have money, but didn't work/plan enough and now they can't earn it anymore due to age. They wind up living horridly. That's bad when you are young. When you are old, it has to be hell.

This guy, you go harddd man. Earlier today at work i was thinking about leaving everything behind and just go travel again, but your comment here got me focused again. I am only sacrificing 3 or 4 years out of my life, then when i am 28 or 29, i am going to travel again. I think more guys on here should listen more to you and other older cats that have been around the world and now wished they focused more on making money.

I wouldnt recommend to be money slave for the rest of our lives or for a very long time, but we should at least try save a large amount of money that allow us to travel and invest (passive businesses) for the rest of our lives. The younger we sort out our lives, the better.

That is exactly why im about living out my life how I want to in my 20's. People take life for granted, it can be gone in the blink of an eye.

I cant tell you how many people are like get a "career" job and and travel when your older. For one, my interests and goals will be different when im in my 30's - 40's (as ill be married and not all about chasing tail in X country) and two, like I already mentioned I could bust my ass working and saving scratch for the future to NEVER see that future come to fruition.

Now, im not endorsing for young cats to be reckless and not plan for the future and have goals ect but that they need to try and find a happy balance in regards to work and play.

After I finish living in Colombia and possibly Brazil in two years time I will be finally ready to settle down in the US and focus on money / career / investing ect.

Well, it is easy to say this when you are financially sorted, i doubt you didnt go through a time where you had to sacrifice some of your freedom.

I also value freedom a lot but i dont want to go back on travelling and then go back to zero. I am only sacrificing 2 or 3 years of my life and then i am going back to the fun and if during these 2 or 3 years i was going to die, then i wouldnt regret it and i tell you why:

1) I am doing this in order to have a better lifestyle in the future and although i could continue on travelling around the world right now, i would be tied to limited funds after few years and i may even get to a stage where i have to just live in a particular place. Im definetely not looking to be selling my laptop one day so i can go travel.

2) If i die, i will be gone. There wont be a place for me to regret, to think that i could have done better, i wont have time to think that i could have lived a better life, i will just be gone, staying in a place where i wouldnt be able to rationalise, so i dont see how that will create any negative effects on me.

3) Its about living a great life as long as you are alive. I probably have at least another 35 years to live, i really cant see myself living another 35 years with a limited life. Most of the guys who are just looking for fun now, latter in their lives wont have anything but stories to tell, i am not looking to live off stories, as i get older, i want to continue on living a great life and part of continuing on living a great life means having a substantial amount of income. So even if i was to sacrifice another 3 or even 5 years of my life and then go back to travelling, i dont see how this is going to create any negative effects to my life, matterfact it will do the opposite.

4) Yes i agree that people shouldnt spend too much time sacrificing their time, our freedom is the most valuable asset of our lives, however good things will come to those who are willing to sacrifice, i dont see a problem sacrificing some of my freedom for few years. Its all about calculating here, if you do your maths right, you shouldnt have to waste too much of your time, i am definetely not looking to be a corporate slave for 10 years.

Yeah, I avoid talking about money/finance (I talk about life all the time however, it's my No1 reason fro being active on this forum - free group therapy). I used to be a corporate slave for more than a decade: The exotic race cars; the million dollar condos on South beach; the vacation villas on the Colombian coast; the private G7 planes to Paris for a weekend with my Colombian supermodel girlfriend/fiancee; giving my mom a Mercedes Benz....just because; been there, done that.

I think it all comes down to what someone wants out of life. What makes you happy. Some people need alot of money to make them happy ie they need a big expensive house, nice cars, vacation homes, ect. Some people are perfectly find with a average house and car with just using a hotel on vacations.

Im of the latter so I dont feel any pressure to do "x" thing in regards to my career at the moment and allows me to focus on doing what I love and living the life I want right now.

The same what if can be said if you make it too 100 while living your life like tomorrow is the last. You will be working as a walmart greeter since you didn't take care of your retirement.

You got to do what you feel is right. If Dash wants to forgo is 20's traveling then that is cool.

Personally, as an older guy, life just gets better when you get older. I wouldn't want to be back in my 20's. I enjoy life right now and can only see it getting better.

I love the work I do and I can do it anywhere in the world. It took me a lot of sacrifice but I couldn't see myself working for someone else. I was true to myself and you can't go wrong if you go through life being true to yourself. That is what this forum is about, imo. Not caving in to others expectations and doing what we want, when we want.

I worked really hard in my early 20's in order to set myself up for a lifestyle that I thought I wanted. The reality is travelling all the time is pretty boring. I think I actually like to work... keeps my mind occupied more than anything.
Sure you can bang a few exotic chicks. But aside from that... dumping yourself in some city with no job, no friends and rented lodgings, just because you can afford it, is not the answer to a more fulfilling life.
Trying to get a balance between work and leisure so you can enjoy both at the same the time is the key.

The thing i truly like about this forum is that we all have different perspectives but are all living or aiming for a similar lifestyle, yo, we really have some quality motherfucking people here

Richie i get your point, i also get bored after a certain period when i am in a city just to fuck the women. I could be fucking the hottest dimes all the time but then i feel the need to have higher goals other than fucking bitches.

However i dont think a 9 to 5 is the answer for the lifestyle i am aiming, i hate to have to work for someone, i think it is one of the worse things a human being can go for. I like to have responsibilities but ones that i create, i am a highly oriented business person , so i want to have a lifestyle where i am fucking lots of bitches but i am also running my businesses on the side. Its definetely doable when you reach a certain amount of money (im not even thinking a million dollars).

I wish I found this forum when I was younger. I'm having to play catch up and won't be able to do everything until my late 20's. Do everything as in traveling around. I read about people my age going overseas and it makes me want to save up for a few months and doing it but then ill come back and delay everything. Personally, I don't want to settle down or anything like that in my 30's or 40's. I look so fucking young that I'll probably look 23 at the oldest when I'm 30 so I guess it'll be ok for me when I

I am in the corporate rat race, but for a young guy in his 20's to get to where I want to be, i.e. living the location-independent lifestyle - this is the only option I have to provide for myself.

I'm no pessimist, but I struggle to see ways to make serious paper. I'm no idiot but I ain't no Donald Trump. So hustling in my 20's in the only way I see I can do it?

It sucks the life out of you when you work til 7, hit the gym you get home and cook and by that time you need to go to bed. Sure my weekends are good, but how does one make money without getting on the grind.

I don't wanna get into my 30's and realise I have nothing to show for it, despite I know my life could be gone in an instant. That's a trade I'm grudgingly willing to accept..
