Let's talk about some flames.To me it looks like a great spiritual experience and great way to meet cool hippy chicks.Has any of you guys been there and what's your opinion?I don't think it's for everybody,but not 1 or 2 people describe it as "out of this world".

I know a bunch of people who go regularly and love it. Mainly because they're into the spirit of the festival. A bunch of them go together, set up camp and build something cool.

If you like raves and that kind of alternative lifestyle I'm sure it's great.

Atmosphere is sexually charged and there must be a lot of casual sex going on. That said, the girls are typically older and may not have showered in a few days when you meet them.

I think Burning Man would definitely be my cup of tea.Are there no public showers or something there?The event is for a week after all.I heard about it first after watching Malcolm a few years ago.This was definitely one of the coolest episodes

Looks incredible. I know an Irish guy who's went across for the festival a couple of times now and loves it. Self survival, drugs and music for a week. Fun.

I've always wanted to go. The only problem is that it takes a lot of preparation and seems almost impossible to go solo (especially if you're a first-timer).

Maybe we could get a group together on here for next years festival.

/shrug. Myself, I like clean women (both in the drug sense and the "just out of a shower is best" sense). So it's pretty much out for me. But I can see where with the right mindset it'd be a ton of fun.

I've gone the last two years - first year in a tent, the second in an RV.
Having an RV makes it incredibly easy to hookup.

A good friend of mine has been going with his gf and her group of friends for the past three years. They sleep in their RV, which makes a huge difference in comfort (Yes, RVs have showers!! )

Overall, just to reiterate what others are saying here: first and foremost, it's an art festival, it's about doing something creative, expressing yourself creatively, and discovering something new about yourself. People spend weeks literally building different structures. Most people just go for that one week, but even then spend lots of time prepping their "arts" and costumes, props, etc.

Secondly, it's a huge place and people do party hard, even during the day. People lose their inhibitions. Anything goes. People that never do drugs, pop shrooms and acid. Lot's of booze. Supersoakers filled with tequila etc, you get the picture.

As for the ladies: some pretty hot girls he said, lot's of topless girls or with body paint. Casual sex? Yes. He had some girls approaching him or outright hitting on him, but he was there with his serious gf so nothing happened.

I am entertaining the idea of Burning Man 2013. Last few years either my job or travel prevented me from going.

Just a caveat - it's definitely changed over the years, and many say for the worse. I've got friends who have been going for over a decade; apparently it's gotten so popular that they've implemented a lottery for tickets, which has pissed a lot of old-timers off. Also, LE is apparently MUCH more tight these days - people are getting rousted for pot, etc.

Yeah man it's become pretty popular now to go to the "burn".
Lot's of celebrities go as well. My buddy bumped into Sergei Brin of Google fame, he was supposedly part of his "camp".

People that would never go to such a "hippy event", now go. I was shocked to find out, that one guy I know, a 40 yo VP at a tech company, went. They flew in by plane for a few day. Yes, that's right, Burning Man has it's own airport and control tower. 'Nuff said.

I have been to the Burn. Its a hell of a holiday. incredible experience, very hard to describe since it will be so random and highly personal.

If you cant get laid there, you, sir, have major issues. Imagine a city of 55,000 people, where its mostly open minded women, in the spirit of adventure, no bosses, nobody knows them, no clocks, no schedules. All of them scantly clad and likely on something. BONERTOWN.

Did I mention there is an Orgydome? think Mad Max's thunderdome, but for orgies. I know a chick that went there and didnt leave all week. Just stayed getting boned all fucking week. She regrets nothing, of course.

Easily one of the best holidays I've ever had. Ask anyone that has been and they will get a twinkle in their eye and say 'you should go'.

Its challenging as fuck, grimy and tough, but if you think you can swing that, you will be richly rewarded in very real ways.

Fortitudinal, is it really that free-love? How dirty do women get there after days without a shower? Are there any shower amenities or do you just try to ignore the filth?

Finally, any particular tips for guys looking to get laid there? Any special game that's effective? Orgy-dome etiquette? Is it similar to a swingers' party?

It really is very free loving. Depends a lot on your vibe, but the masculine alpha is never out of place.

YOU will be caked in dirt too, thats the beauty of it. They cant be all prissy and princessy when covered in filth. Ha.

There are showers sometimes, but I would not count on it. IF your camp has a good setup maybe then. I found a public shower in the middle of the road, so I went for it. BEST SHOWER EVER. Girls mirin', sun shinnin', waving at passerbys.

Couldnt tell you about orgydome, but I think general common sense applies. I know if your chick leaves, you are out.

Overall, YOU WILL BE CHALLENGED physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritual. Its NOT camping. Its like taking the red pill and jumping off the cliff. Ever heard the expression 'let your freak flag fly'? well, imagine that but x 1 000

All recollections of Burning Man I've heard however indicate that the girls are not as hot as you would like. It's a high degree of hippies, feminists, LGBTs and stoners. Sure you'll see some snapshots of on the internet of some hot model with professional outfit and make-up there but that's branding as with any mingle photos you'll find at a night clubs website.

Yes, this is true. Cant deny lots of fatties, flabby tits big whales all out and about. But still, you will meet lots of honeys that wanna explore themselves and their sexuality, blah blah blah. . .

A flaky slut named Emily Witt just posted an article on the London Review of Books on her experience at Burning Man 2013. Here's the passage on the orgy dome:

He was an anarchist, and tried to live as close to his political principles as possible, which meant not partaking of things that come from thousands of miles away, like coffee. He also forbade himself to watch porn, didn’t have a mobile phone, and made a point of trying to get by on as little paid employment as possible, as a sort of protest. We had this final trait in common.
