Bly argues that in the past women have had a love for warriors. WW2 Vets were seen as heroes, warriors fighting for the good of our society; against a well defined adversary. Now the public perception of military men is not of a warrior but of a soldier and a murderer. From what I understand, Bly attributes this change to the fact that technological advances have rendered the 'warrior' obsolete. People see war as more mechanical and less personal as it was before the advent of weapons of mass destruction etc. Because the individual soldier pales in comparison to something like a big ass bomb, soldiers are no longer seen (individually) as protecting society/women.

How is a soldier supposed to defend his own space if in 5 minutes he can be nuked from across the globe?

You should not have enlisted in the Marine Corps with a bachelors degree. Either back out of your contract (once you get to boot camp it's much more difficult to do this) and pursue the officer route. Or don't enlist altogether.

FWIW, I enlisted in the Army with a bachelors degree and have served a little over 4 years.

With 2 degrees and after basic and AIT you will be eligible for direct appointment to OCS straight up natural alpha and a Fleet maverick (enlisted to Officer) then do 10 15 or 20 years and any of the Top 100 Prime contractors will hire you as a program Manager and you will retire a millionaire.

Talk of hipster chicks and liberal Uni beez is overblown a lot of that is just pressure to fit in on liberal campuses when what the really want is a hero like Dad and Granddad who more often than not crushed the Nazis and Imperial Japan when they were young. Chicks don't "not dig" the military...it's just much more common place. We've been at wRong for over a decade. Soldiers and warriors just are new an in.

I feel like this story has been told. After 9/11 I know people that were fire fighters, police officers , soldiers that were banking pussy because everyone wanted to know those people. Fire fighters were on tv and what not. Guys were cleaning up on model looking girls cause everyone wanted to know them. Now that pussy bubble is over and those dudes are left behind with major health issues.

I hardly ever talk about my time in the USMC-- I realized many 7 or 8 years that it wasn't something that got a positive response and that it steered the conversation in a bad, serious direction unsuited for closing the deal with a chick. As Rollo elucidates in one of his best columns, military men are often very alpha on duty, but complete betas when it comes to women. In my opinion, their lack of success with women is one of the contributors to the mental health issues that many veterans have, although many of my fellow ex-servicemembers disagree with me on that point. Many of the servicemembers in the Army and Air Force that I have been around have been some of the most beta men I've ever encountered, both officers and enlisted both. Even many of the ones with strong command presence on the job often act like chumps when women are around.

As others have already pointed out in this thread, being a military or ex-military member may-or-may-not help you out with women. It's how you use it. You still have to be an accomplished masculine man in most, if not all, aspects, and know how to use game. Although women should value their society's warrior class, as you all know most women can't or won't think about things at that deep or nuanced of a level. You still have to use your value and skills to create attraction.

When a real global war breaks out (which i feel is inevitable) then women will flock to be with soldiers. Plus I believe it has something more to do with role. A SEAL or Green beret will always get more ladies than a regular sailor or soldier. Women want protection and right now the government is their protector.

Also I believe the reason most soldiers are alpha when it comes to everything BUT women is that they view women as their only escape from the harshness of the world. This is like putting your faith onto a rope bridge holding a train. A delta operator might spend 6 months in hell but feel its completely worth it if he comes home to his wife. He will forgive anything to keep that piece of humanity and that hope alive.

I think that the most of the girls don´t recognize any difference between differents soldiers. But once you are cool unit, it is advantage, because you can tell them badass stories. Recently I was at the date with really cute girl and she told me that she has a friend in the army. I asked her what he does and she told me, that he´s some facility guard. I was like LOL hold my beer and started.
In my country being a soldier is higher and higher valuated job. People hated soldiers 20 years ago, because we are post communistic country and army was their symbol of power and it was mandatory, but today there´s only small military left, but it has a name in the world and due to current security situation and lack of soldiers, sallary is getting higher and higher.

I left excactly one year ago, but my unit has really good name and very good PR (from inside it´s not that good), so if I said, that I am on commanding post at this unit which does some very interesting stuff and it´s actually the top in the army if not counting SF.
Honestly now as civilian, I struggle with this as it comes to my job and girls, because from the top rated job by girls I went to the excact opossite.


But the most of the soldiers are totally beta, when it comes to girls and general approach to reaching any other goals, than military-related. Especially those guys, who are really good soldiers have problem with finding a girl or they settle with first single mother who come across their way and marry her. But it´s not the rule, one of my best friend, who is the biggest badass is also my best wingman and good player.

A lot of the European armies in particular had guys with pasty white skin (meaning they were mainly desk jockeys), had no muscle tone to them and many wore prescription glasses. Probably the sort of guys who if the USSR were around would had fled the combat zone if going up against a Soviet infantrymen (kind of how like Georgian soldiers in 2008 or whenever it was fled away from even under-equipped militiamen).
