So, I was in Kuala Lumpur last week on a business trip and was walking around the streets during my free time. I was in a mall looking for a place to eat when I spotted this chick near me so I asked her if she knew of a good spot. This lead to a convo and insta-date at this restaurant. Turns out she's 22, American, recent graduate, in SE Asia on some scholarship program after college and was leaving early in the morning next day. Now, I wasn't really in game-mode due to being really tired plus the logistics were crappy so I thought to just play it cool and if something happens then it happens otherwise I was fine. I ordered a full meal and she ordered a beer. The convo went smoothly, but I noticed she was trying to bust my balls(which I didn't let her) and didn't think much of it. This was around 8PM so we made plans to check out the nightlife and grab a couple more drinks later on.

I got done with the dinner and asked the busboy for the cheque. I pulled out my share and noticed she didn't have change so I offered to pay for her beer(it was only about $5 or so) and told her she can get me a drink later. Now obviously I do know all the theories about making the bitches pay but I loosely follow them, as I usually make it a non-issue and focus more on assuming the dominant role in the overall chemistry. Once I offered to pay, it seemed as if she was just waiting for it and gladly accepted. We step out take a few steps, my hotel was nearby and wanted to grab my phone so I asked her if she wanted to come along. She declined and then wished me a happy rest of the travel. I was dumbfounded. Looked like the moment she got that drink from me, it was over for her. A great WTF moment.

Once this girl approached me in a bar in Washington, DC (I think the bar was called "The Park", it was a three floors bar near K Street, just around the corner from K Street Lounge and Lotus). After a while she asked me if I wanted a drink.

At that time I was not very experienced with girls, so I accepted and decided to offer (yes: totally lame... I was young). In any case, as I paid and gave her her drink she told me: "ok, I am going outside to smoke, I'll be back".

I got what was going on, so I told her: "You cannot drink outside. I'll keep it. Go smoke, you'll get it when you come back".

She looked completely unprepared. Turned to her friend asking for what to do. Her friend stepped up and tried to grab her drink. She even told me something like "leave it!".

Half of the drink was spilled on the second girl's jacked. At that point they both realized I wasn't going to give up. I kept the drink. And felt very proud of myself.

I learned the lesson: never offer a drink to a girl. For whatever reason.

Had a weird one on Thanksgiving. I was in a liquor store buying some wine for dinner, and the cashier chick was young and being goofy/flirty. She kept dropping my stuff (credit card/receipt) and I said "You sure you haven't been drinking?"

Hmm, not sure about this. I cant judge the situation well since i wasn't there but maybe she just wanted to drink and smoke at the same time and than come back to you, she might have wanted to talk about you in private with her girl. (deciding on whose house to do the threesome haha ) and you protecting/keeping the beer you offered her freaked her out and she got turned of by it.

Well, if a girl decides to leave immediately after getting her drink, I guess you don't have to think much about what she wanted...

Second, in the US you cannot go outside with a drink. And since the bar did not have a terrace or courtyard, the idea of going out to smoke was just bullshit.

Third, I wasn't aggressive when I told her I would have kept the drink. I politely said that since she could not bring her drink outside, I would have kept it until she came back.

That her friend came and tried to grab the drink was just the confirmation that they were two whores looking for some ATM machine.

Regardless of their intensions, the lesson for me was obvious: never offer a drink to a girl in a bar.

TC, I think the girl had you locked in as a guy she wouldn't fuck before you bought her the drink. A couple cues from your story tell me this:

1. You said you weren't in game-mode; i.e. not prepared
2. You said she was expecting you to buy the drink

You should break down every moment of the interaction and decide where you went wrong from there.

I'm not against buying women drinks, so long as they buy me one first. period.

Now, if I am in a culture where not buying one is DLV, then I buy one after she has spent more than 20 minutes talking to me, at that point, she is getting paid for entertaining me while I find another target.

Seriously guys, if a woman wants to fuck you, you do not need to buy her drinks, if anything, women who want to fuck you, will buy their own drinks...and hell, she may just buy you one too to get you ready for sex.

Another thing to do is move her around before you start buying her a drink. You can tell a woman enjoys your company when she complies to go with you to another venue, or even another area/section of the same venue you are in, so long as it shows compliance, she is likely feeling you, and not just after a drink.

The only time women can have endless supply of liquor on me is when they are in my house, and she is halfway naked.

Well I had gotten laid on the previous night and was running on 3 hrs of sleep so was really tired and wasn't feeling too motivated. So when I picked her up and insta-dated I thought of playing it totally cool without worrying about getting the bang, and moreover, the overall logistics were shitty so I didn't care much anyway. I just thought I would chit-chat and share travel stories and if that naturally progresses to a bang then fine. The convo was flowing well and she was asking me questions about my life, but I'd rate her interest level at 7/10.
I usually don't let paying for drink become that big part of the whole equation, but nevertheless I'm definitely wary of drink-diggers. I saw she didn't have change and it was only a beer so I offered to pay while also adding that she could get me a drink later on when we'd go checkout the nightlife. Now, after I offered to pay, the way she agreed to it, it seemed as if she thought of that as a major win. And the way her attitude changed after that, it looked like she had attained her purpose and was ready to move on. I usually don't give two-shits about buying a drink or two, but the lesson here was how it played a role in shaping final outcome and that perhaps I should become more careful about not buying them drinks.

Also, "taking it easy" with college girls that you don't know or have no social circle connection to is a recipe for disaster. You have fair points, but I got frustrated not because I wasn't able to get anywhere despite having paid for the drink, but rather I was totally appalled at her sudden 180 after I paid for it.
