Haha, they binge drink here too, but it's in the universities and colleges. If you visit any sizable US campus (and there are many) during an academic year, you'll see plenty of binge drinking from 18-20 at house parties. Actually, around this time there are a lot of interns around your age in the city, or people taking summer classes.

I think my favourite thing about NY is that the culture doesn't revolve around drinking so much to have fun like in London where all my friends go to pubs. There is an unlimited amount of entertainment where you can be sober and have fun, I saw people play basketball at 2am, I saw guys doing calisthenics on scaffoldings and joined in. People just have fun with everything they do here. If there is one thing which America does better than anywhere else it's entertainment. Maybe the 21 drinking restriction is a good thing because it forces all the young guys to do other things for enjoyment rather than binge drink like they do in the uk.

I prefer the 18-22 age rage for girls so if it's mostly 22-30 that would kind of suck. Did you feel like there was a shortage of college aged/18-22 girls in the city?

There are very few guys your age in New York in the summer. The drinking culture is worse here at ages 18-21 but tends to.take place college which won't be visible to you at the moment.

The enforcement of the drinking age in New York is low at beer stores. When I was a kid. I used to walk into stores until I found someone who wouldn't ask for ID. I suspect as well that as long as they weren't asking for a ID at the door you probably could walk in a few bars and have a beer too if you knew where to go.

The drinking age enforcement gets much stricter as you go into the middle of the country.

Is New York more of a older city that doesn't have many 18-22 year old girls? When I think college or a younger person in that age group I don't really think of NYC. I feel like LA probably has more girls in that age group.

Yeah not many girls that age except from Brooklyn, I saw many teen girls on the subway there but can't say more than that

There are plenty of 18-21 girls in the city during the summer, but they're often occupied with an internship or job during the weekdays, and most of them are out-of-towners only around for the summer. You also have to account for the tourist effect as many of those girls have always had that desire to visit the city and will also be enjoying it on their off days. They can't go to bars, but they'll be around various places throughout the city.

The local segment of 18-21 girls are interning, working, or just with their families during the summer. But in this instance, they're probably not based in Manhattan. Most families in the area live in the outer boroughs (typically ethnic families) or in suburbs like Long Island and Westchester. Thus, the local 18-21 girls will often not appear in Manhattan during the weekends and just stay where they live.

@duedue re: williamsburg vs Chinatown both have lots of hot chicks and good logistics, and it depends on your personal style, but I honestly think being in Manhattan is superior.

In 2018, Willy-B is somewhat more poppin' than many parts of Manhattan.

The whole Bushwick -> WillyB -> E.Village / LES axis is still strong.

Chinatown is "below" the LES -- so walk a few blocks uptown to get some good partying in.

WillyB is in the mix of hipster (and honestly, this day and age, many many non-hipster) chicks and L-train activities...

You'd be fine in either.

When to go? Iam thinking to go this month or november. Dezember to March is too cold or is it ok?

Where to stay? I was thinking about Williamsburg, because it is next to Manhatten and seems like a cool neighbourhood. Or is there something better?

Outside of Greenwich Village, where do NYU girls (both undergrad and grad) usually hang out? Banging at least 1 NYU girl is on my to-do list.

Been on a few dates here. Feels like girls here have really fragile egos. I'm used to ball busting on dates in Philly, seems to work really. But here, women seem a lot more uptight. Think I blew a few dates because of it. Anyone think the same way?
