RE: New York City
I arrived in NY, my first time in America. Jesus christ, its possibly the craziest city i've ever seen. Only been here 5 hours and ive just been in constant awe and shock at what life is like here. It's grimey, loud but people are helpful, too many crackheads, drug dealers, freaks who shout random shit in the street the list goes on and on.
Girls wise I think its pussy paradise, too many hot latinas, black chicks, white chicks - and approachable too unlike London. I did 2 approaches cos I am hella jetlagged, one in jfk and one in Jamaica subway station just to practice talking to American girls.
All im gonna say is I need to adjust, it is not really like London, I would say better so far. A lot more alpha looking dudes than London here too, its a city of hustle. I will see what ny has to offer tomorrow.

Love it. I hope to stop by NYC at least once this summer. Still have one buddy out there I still consider to be a close friend. He's pretty whipped these days with his wife, but for old times sake it would be nice to hang with him for a little bit, but also to go gaming in the big quintessential city lol.

Do girls in New York seem kind of cold to advances compared to other cities?

Potentially. Big city chicks such as the ones in New York get catcalled a lot in the streets. But there so many compartments & "cities" within the city if you will. Easier to niche out & find different vibes & scenes in such a densely populated area.

RE: New York City
Ive only been here 2 days. Bold statement but this is my favourite city in the world. America is just insane, high energy, extroverted people, sensory overload, I feel like im in a movie. I walk into a 7 11 and they talk to you like theyre your best friend, in London i dont even get eye contact at the counter.
In 1 word, NYC is alive. Architecture is jaw dropping, central park better than hyde park. In fact 90% of things are better in nyc than London. People here are driving their big trucks bumping hip hop full volume whilst smiling, shit is just so different. Everyone has a sense of individuality, the attitude of new yorkers is awesome, some are dickheads though to be fair. I have had multiple long conversations with strangers which have been awesome.
P.S: If someone know how to get a green card easy + fast let me know

Just googled Hyde Park, it does seem kind of lame but the annual amusement park it has definitely beats the amusement park in central park.
On the topic of girls a lot of guys say New York is bad for a LTR cause girls are very hypergamous there and there is so many options. In New York did you feel girls were more slutty then other places?

From other threads, I got that East Village has a huge party scene and volume, but Soho has better quality in the day and West Village (+ Meatpacking) has better quality at night.
I'm trying to pick between these neighborhoods, East Village seems like a pain to get to FIDI though (where I'm going to work)
It depends on your lifestyle. I never really smoke pot or do drugs for example. East Village scene is more like for teenagers who have tattoo, piercing, drugs, pots etc. Girls would have purple hair or green hair, some weirdo's. But it's very easy to get laid because they're high or drunk most of the time.
I lived on/off 9 years in Manhattan and I rarely went there side but on the other hand, West Village and Soho are more posh areas of the city. A lot of fashionista's and European girls hang out there, a lot of models as well.
I lived in Soho for 2 years and then West Village around 3 years. But I have to say, rent's are almost double more in those areas than East Village for sure.

I loved this post, you put a big smile on my face and had me lost in my own memories of experiencing the city for the first time. You might think that the sense of awe would wear off over time, but it never did for me, not even after several years of living there.

RE: New York City
New York is really two cities. There's one for the rich, well-off, tourists, and transients and then there's one for the middle class, working class, and poor. If you're not in the first group you get full exposure to the corruption, garbage liberal policies, and quality of life issues that actually plague the city and never get fixed. If you're in the first group, then it's really easy to enjoy the city in blissful ignorance because you'll likely be in a nice part of the city surrounded by similar people.
There's no better place in the US when it comes to seeing so much of the world in one place, and of course for variety of girls. But when it comes to living, there are better places in other parts of the US.
