Okay, so I’m in a parking lot this afternoon and an obviously affluent elderly woman (60's?) asks for directions. She’s accompanied by a very frail looking elder man (70 to 80?) and what I presume was a home attendant/nurse. The elderly lady asks for directions. Taking into consideration the obviously frail condition of the elderly man, I give her very clear and detailed directions which would involve the least amount of walking. The conversation takes place outside of the hearing of the home attendant and the old man, who I presume is her husband. She thanks me for the directions and then, with a twinkle in her eyes, asks if I’d like to accompany them to their destination, stating “We’ll buy you an orange juice or coffee.” I politely declined and walked away, shaking my head, thinking, that did not just happen. (I’m in my forties).

You describe her as an "affluent" woman in her 60's and then proceed to decline her invitation? I hope you had something really good planned because if affluent still means "rich as fuck" then you have to be handicapped to pass up on an opportunity to become friends with them. Why on earth would you think she's hitting on you? LOL

Maybe she has a 30-yr-old daughter or niece to introduce to you. Or maybe she just thought, "he seems like a pretty good guy. Maybe I can help him out somehow down the road." Whatever the reason, unless you're "affluent" yourself, I think you made a mistake. Coulda been nothing, but it coulda something big, too.

Back when I was in my late teens and twenties, I had three experiences of women in their late fifties or sixties coming on to me. The women in the first two cases were just flirting with me heavily; the one in the third case blatantly propositioned me. In the first and third cases, I had only known the woman for a few minutes. All of these women were single, though, not married. In all three cases, I politely declined to take the bait.
