No doubt...some of these tricks go overboard with the collagen injections. They end up looking like Meg Ryan, with permanent pout. Bitches can't grow it, so they try to buy it. However, lips like this look beautiful with your joint sliding in and out of them.

Every girl now has at least a few of these on her facebook. Even women in their 30s. I guess it's supposed to be some combination of sexy and sassy...or so they think. They're trying to pose like models. Just another symptom of the attention whore culture if you ask me.

The duckface is essentially Fat girl angle shot 2.0. It is done in an attempt to appear "cute" or "hot" on MySpace or Facebook or Bebo or whatever-the-****. It seems to be a new, mutated strain of Internet disease that is most commonly seen with 16 year-old scene girls and guidos, but sometimes it can afflict cougars, fags, and even children.

Have you ever noticed the wierd/ugly face Thai and other Asian birds make when they take photos? Real popular with the college and high school crowd, and you see it all over hi-5, Facebook, etc. I find it similar - though not as nasty looking as this duckface shit. Still not attractive.

I don't know any of these chicks, btw, so don't expect anything special. lol All pulled off Google Images.

It's a psychological defense mechanism whereby girls can voluntarily distort their faces for photographs so that if they later look at the photos and think they, as individuals, look "ugly" or not as beautiful as they imagine themselves to be, they can chalk it up the "duck face" they used.

All ugliness, even if they may be obese or have a terrible nose, is then all attributed to that silly duck face. By being silly with these poses, they refuse to take any subsequent photos seriously as representative of how fucking hideous they may actually be, lips distorted or not.

I did a whole post on this topic on my now-defunct, non-game blog a couple of years ago. If memory serves me right I attributed it to several reasons including: trying to make their fat faces look skinnier; intentionally distorting their faces (as mangadooza mentioned above) to create a plausible deniability of looking terrible in their pictures (insecurity, basically); and massive copy-catting of one another, because they think it's "cool."

But, the most common reason is this: this is American girls' best attempt, believe or not, to look sexy and "pouty." But since American girls (who pioneered this stupid-ass face) don't know how to be sexy, you get this shit.

I thought of your explanation in the second paragraph as well - American girls don't know how to be sexy in any subtle, alluring or suggestive way, unlike say, French women. They have to resort to putting it all out there at once. It's like horror films - some of the older classic ones would never even show you the monster, they would just insinuate its existence. Nowadays, every horror film is trying to top the previous one with grisly zombies, decapitations and geysers of blood.

A sexy woman can arouse a man with a feminine yet devilish smile alone, but most American women can't (I can post some NSFW vids later, as examples, where a girl is clothed and just having a casual conversation, yet radiates sex). Since American women are de facto cripples when it comes to sexuality, they have to make overtly sexual gestures, like showing off their cleavage, bending forward, making their lips appear bigger, kissing other girls, patting their ass, etc. I do like that they act like pornstars in bed though.

And the copy-catting because it's cool effect just amplifies it.
