It is ridiculous I have waited this long to add to this thread. I have been to Riga the past two years (Aug this yr; Sept last). Due to the "sex tourist" label, expect to enter this city as very low status. I traveled EE for 5 months and hit up 14 countries. Riga stands out to me as the biggest pain in my ass. I was dating two girls (a russian & latvian). They quickly turned into what i can best explain as "girlfriends with no benefits". I have no problem escalating but Riga offers you an added challenge. Many of the girls just can't get past the thought that you are there to bang them and run. As a result, you may feel like you are up against a brick wall. I tossed an arsenal of what has worked historically at both these girls and couldn't get them to crack. However, I am convinced if I told them I was moving there in a week they would have spread the goods the same night. So it really comes down to the question...roll into this city and tell the truth or lie your ass off. Sadly, your chances skyrocket with option B. Your story better be beyond convincing. They have heard it all.

Riga is the only city where I have been blown out before speaking word one. This happened to me at least 5 times. Before I could get a word out the girls would form a football style cockblocking huddle. They will also walk away (practically run) if they sense you are attempting to chat them up or tell you off ---don't talk to me ---wtf? These girls are skilled at blow offs. A girl in motion (dancing mainly) will be very difficult unless you have wicked dance floor game (which i don't). I only had success working the areas around the dance floors. Also, there is one bar in town called Cuban something (my memory is just terrible). The locals do go here to meet tourists. I met a girl here every time I went. But due to time limitations no bangs resulted. Time is your friend in Riga. If you are there for 3 days it is nearly impossible. If the time frame is beyond two weeks your results will improve dramatically provided you are putting in the work. I was only there 8 days this year so I only have myself to blame.

I was given an attitude by local GUYS because they thought I was from England. That is when I said, "I am from NYC bitches". Ok, I really didn't say that. However, this thread has been going back and forth on this and there is no denying that Brits are at an initial disadvantage. I covered this topic with numerous locals and they openly expressed their dislike so don't kill the messenger.

The first few days I was staying at a hostel and 8 guys from the Netherlands show up. My first thought is these guys are going to get destroyed. They went out every night on an apparent mission to annoy as many girls as they could. They were all tall and mostly good looking. I had more success than all of them combined. No I dind't get a bang here but got far closer than this. I got my Latvian bang in Lithuania of all places. I guess I am not a "sex tourist" there My point here is the girls deal with this type of thing all the time and it annoys the hell out of them. Thus, this increases the strength of the bitch shield. Where else did I see huge groups of guys hitting on girls mercilessly? Ummm...nowhere...but i hit several places offseason (Croatia & Montenegro come to mind).

I am concentrating on the negative experiences for a reason. I don't want guys thinking this city is a layup. I found it to be one of the most difficult cities. I spent a great deal of time making friends with locals and found this to be the best strategy. It gave me back the status I had lost. I do like Riga and had a great time there. However, if I were to choose a place to return to it would be bottom of the list (unless I committed a month).

I will not go against the general theme as it relates to looks. There is a lot of talent in this city. You just need to have really thick skin and play this city very different than the surrounding neighbors.

Brian, a full reply would send the thread in 10 different directions. I will keep it in the neighborhood and cover the Baltics. I have been to each country twice and Luthuania in my opinion is the best. It is actuallly one of my favorite countries (even though it lacks nature). I have traveled from Estonia down and Lith up. Each time the attitude shift is very obvious. I have no stats to back this up but Lith feels like it is more off the grid than the others. I am shocked at how easy it is for me to chat up top tier girls. I can pull off being Lithuanian so no exotic factor exists (and i am 5'9"). However, visiting from NYC seemed to up my value immediately. The girls didn't care that I was solo, leaving in 3 days, age was irrelevent, etc. Of the 14 countries I visited the easiest (meet to lay) were Poland and Lithuania. It worked out so well last year that I had to try it again this year and the results were identical.

I went to Kiev on my own, did very well. Slept with three girls in 4 days, one I already met in Vkontakte(18) another I met in Vodka Bar(19) and another who hit on ME in the street, she was doing promotions(17).

Will be going back in a few weeks

Deb, you must have the touch of a master when it comes to these Ukrainian girls. I would say I am an exceptionally good looking guy with money to throw around. The caveat is I look Turkish.

I've been in Kiev most for most of December. I've had exploits with two Ukrainian girls and I've been banging the daylights out of a Polish girl I met at the airport (the hottest girl I've banged while in EE this time around - ironic for so many reasons). Furthermore, I don't exactly accumulate prospects as readily as I have in Poland, Romania, or Sweden.

Sounds like Roosh's experience is similar to mine. I didn't really see any fat girls in Latvia though (although I do recall one fat bartender girl who not surprisingly had spent a bunch of time in America and spoke perfect English).

When it comes to Ukraine as a whole, I don't have any special techniques, I just approach them anywhere, street, bar, cafe, McDonalds, whatever. I just say hi, ask them their name etc. I very rarely got a bad response, they will almost always give me their name at least.

Of course there is no "one size fits all", i'm a decent looking guy, very tall, modelling experience etc. Confidence is naturally important, my confidence has gone through the stratosphere since I moved to this country.

That really sucks to hear that. I had high hopes for Latvia. I wonder if it was the time of year you went because I hear conflicting opinions about the place. I'm not really inclined to see it though.
