If you want to travel, and it's an option for you, get a job at an airline. Airfare is usually free, you can just fly whenever you want, wherever you want. We had to pay for out-of-country travel (whoo, $100 for round-trip to Germany) at discounted rates, and this was when gas was $4.20 a gallon.

I'd love to travel. America sucks. I hate to say it, but it sucks here. I had a 250-pound whale of a woman who thought she was hot shit because she had a masters in childhood counseling try to neg me yesterday. No shit.

You guys dont really want people to travel abroad, the more foreigners from a specific country you see in a particular country, the more these people lose value in that environment. Locals chicks from whatever place you are visiting need to sense that you are a rare commodity, the rarer you are, the easier it will be for you to fuck.

This is like asking, why dont more people become intelligent, why dont more people become rich..let them live their mediocre lives, this will mean no competition and is good for us travellers.

Guys don't travel more because most guys on here are from the states and N. America is fucking awesome IMO. There's no reason to go anywhere. There's outdoorsy shit, hot chicks, international swag, douchebag free zones, great diverse food, good stable governments, money to be made, people that stay the fuck out of your business (the exact opposite of Germany)... and people are just comfortable in their own surroundings. N. America as a whole has a lot to offer.

Once overseas the novelty will wear off and you'll see how limited a lot of countries are. Here in Germany, we have about 1 or 2 of everything to choose from. If you don't like Kurt Wagner milk, you get Andreas Schueller soy milk. That's it. If you don't like Lidl/Aldi/Rewe/ (which all sell the same shit) you go to the bio store (if your city has one. most don't). That's it. Lately, in Berlin and places like that, I'm noticing more variety but not that much. All the buildings look the same. You know how in a normal country, an Asian restaurant has some kind of Asian theme on the outside of the building to let you know it's an Asian restaurant? Not here. Every restaurant looks like someones house with a plank on the front the says something like "Asiatische Spezialitaeten." Where's the imagination!!?? LOL. In America, you get like what...15 choices of everything? If I want pork chops in the middle of the night I can get up and get some at the store. You know what time shit closes here? 6pm, M-Sat. Sun everything is closed! Good luck doing anything on your lunch break too lol. If you stay in a country longer than 2 weeks, and the novelty wears off and you get use to fucking the beautiful locals, you start to notice shit that bothers you. Depending on what country you're, people will get really impatient with you if you don't speak the language fluently. Locals will attempt to rip you off because of this. Moving in/out of an apartment is hard. Going down to register the government office is hard. For some people, it'll be the first they experience racism and discrimination and they might not be able to handle it.

In every country I've lived in, all this bullshit basically gets balanced out my all the amazingly good pussy you're getting. But as you get older, amazingly good pussy is not the most important thing to you lol. Sometimes you just want respect from your fellow man, or want to vote, effect change in your environment, own a business, etc. Go figure.

After living overseas for 10+ years, I'm against moving abroad. Traveling abroad for 2-3 months suits me personally just fine. I would say every year I need to get out about 2 or 3 months and just immerse myself in a foreign culture. But I need to come back home and chill with my family, run my business, and enjoy the cool shit N. America has to offer after 3 months are up.

If you work on the Euro economy then yes, where you pay into the fucking horrible socialist system where they take 50% of your money from you for bullshit. But I worked IT on military bases. I was technically on American soil so I got paid in dollars and got all the benefits of working as an American overseas, like paying zero taxes up to 100K (it goes up every year... when I became a contractor in 2006 it was 93K), extra time to file income returns, paid trips stateside every year, rent paid for by the US DoD, diplomatic immunity when the local cops wanna pull some shit, US gas prices (we use coupons when we fill up at Euro gas stations), VAT tax forms so we pay no sales tax, etc etc etc. I can kinda understand why Euro guys hate us sometimes, cause after all the money and breaks we still take their women lol. But a 23 year old bringing home 100,000+ cash money living in the pussy wonderland that's Europe/Japan...I don't know too many 23 year old's that can say no to that. To put things in perspective you would understand, that's like making $150,000 - $180,000 in a place like Virginia (the cost of living equivalent to southern Germany) at the age of 23. I can tell you the closest German bringing home that kind of money was twice my age. And of course, this was Europe. So I was ballin I've said it before and I say it again, if you are in IT and can get a security clearance, this is the best way to make money and fuck foreign girls. But... there's always a price.

As you alluded to, being the "rich American" brings certain kinds of people in your life that you may not want. To me a lot of girls overseas are VERY simple girls. They grow up, they get a job, they party a little in their small village, get married and die. That's it. There's not much in between. America is of course better than the vast majority of countries, but unless you are mega rich in America it probably isn't the best country to live in nowadays. Unlike in western Europe/Japan/Singapore/HK/Aus/NZ/Canada, you have basically no social safety net. You have to save for retirement, medical emergencies, unemployment, private schools and then university for your kids. Nothing is cheap.

On top of that you probably only get two weeks vacation, which you really can't even use because no one in your office goes on vacation. The political system is dysfunctional and only cares about the super rich. The gap between the rich and poor is huge, and it is highly unlikely a lower middle class person will move up in social class. Most western European countries are actually better at social mobility than America.

And while poorer countries don't have as good infrastructure, hospitals, schools, etc. in most countries nowadays expats have access to western style hospitals, schools, and housing. You can live in Thailand and still have access to quality (and actually affordable) medical care. You can live in Costa Rica in a nice modern house. You can live in Colombia and send your kid to a American or British private school. So overall I think it is not black and white in poorer countries. If you really want to you can have a first world lifestyle in a third world nation.

That's interesting and definitely something to take into consideration. All I know is my experience and the word here on the ground, in the field is something different. I was born poor, had to join the military to go to college and while there busted my ass to get a degree before I got out and the free military money stopped. Now I'm doing ok. My German and European friends who are rich where born rich, who are middle class where born middle class. I've never heard of a German being born middle class and is now wealthy. They complain all the time because the government severely limits what they can do and how much of their money they can keep. They don't even act on ideas they have out of fear that the government will tax them to death. I think you're confusing quality of life, which I admit is better here. Germany is definitely a more structured society etc ,so I'm sure must feel a bit uptight to an American ,even a Brit in fact.
Standard of living wise ,there is huge wealth in the US,but i think also so many more dirt poor people and areas than I see in Western Europe.
Maybe that's the price of higher taxes.

How do you find the women different?
German women in particular.
I've always got on well with German girls.
They tend to get a bad rap on this Forum ,but I've met some real stunners..and they didn't have any hang ups sexually..quite the opposite!

Have you picked up the language in your time there..that's a bonus if you did.

That's interesting and definitely something to take into consideration. All I know is my experience and the word here on the ground, in the field is something different. I was born poor, had to join the military to go to college and while there busted my ass to get a degree before I got out and the free military money stopped. Now I'm doing ok. My German and European friends who are rich where born rich, who are middle class where born middle class. I've never heard of a German being born middle class and is now wealthy. They complain all the time because the government severely limits what they can do and how much of their money they can keep. They don't even act on ideas they have out of fear that the government will tax them to death. I think you're confusing quality of life, which I admit is better here. But the poor Germans don't even get the chance to go to college because of the stupid fucking RealSchule/HauptSchule/Gynasium high school system they have that keeps people in class groups all throughout academia. I dated a "poor" Polish girl in Germany who is pretty much screwed because she can't go to college at 28 because she went to RealSchule instead of Gynasium. The rich 19 year old I dated went to Gymnasium because as a rich girl she had nothing to worry about in life except doing her homework and riding her pony on the weekend. She gets to choose colleges. But still not a lot because the test she took at age 7 or some shit, she scored kinda low in. To their defense Germany has made some changes to their system recently that stops this but it might be too little too late.

I think this report doesn't take into account the savings culture in Europe is a lot better than that of the states. People save money here, and don't spend what they don't have. But that's probably because they don't have much to spend to begin with lol. Americans, we are a credit society, always living beyond our means. Europeans are not. But that says nothing about the amount of jobs here and there. I think there are just more jobs and higher paying jobs stateside, and the US government doesn't take your money like the European governments do. Our colleges are better, their K-12 is better. People from around the world still consistently apply to Harvard, Yale and UCLA, not something in Prague or Heidelberg.

Yeah man, reading all the negative stuff written on here about American girls and the area I'm moving to (Maryland) is not helping. Who knows, I might agree with a lot of whats been said here. But I'm still an American and I know what the country is like even though I've been gone for so long. I go back to visit sometimes, and it's always like the grass is greener on the other side. For example my friends, all black, complain about racism in America. Man I honestly haven't experienced racism until I came to Europe. America is such a breeze compared to Germany, because most of the time in the states it's your ability that's measured, not some preconceived stereotype about you. Even if that's the case if you can do the job, guys in the states will shut the fuck up. Germans, especially older guys, hate to be wrong, and will go to no ends to prove their suspicions.

I love the British because 1) they can't stand the Germans , and 2) they're so much like Americans it makes me feel comfortable to visit the UK. Definitely feels like stepping out of a black and white movie and into color when I cross the borders.

I think I wrote this in another Germany thread, but I think the best part about Germany are the amounts of foreign ass living here. The Poles and Turks and Russians and Italians. So many and a lot of them think German guys are fucking square (cause they are) so they're happy to jump on some American pipe if they're into you. Bavarian girls are the hottest in Germany. Equal to Czech girls in my opinion. Shit they're so close they probably share the same bloodline. Beautiful blondes with big ass titties, thin slim stomachs and nice fat asses. And very very pretty and delicate looking. Most of the models in Germany come from NRW and Bavaria I think. But this is also the most close minded part of Germany, so your German better be fucking tight. Tight enough to fight off a AMOG in German. You get no points for being a foreigner there. My German is good enough to do most things. I speak it often enough to where I don't have an accent with words I know. Words I don't know so well or am experimenting with you'll hear my American accent come out. I can game in German and get a girls number. I've fucked a few girls using nothing but German. But deep conversation I can't do.

You say the girls are simple but i find girls in North America very simple myself, they are shallow and all they care about is there damn Blackberry/Iphones. I will gladly take the supposedly simple Euro girl over the entitled North American chick.

And here I am doing it again. Talking shit about Germans. I wanna make a point to just say I have a few German friends and I consider them very valuable people and I cherish them and all that. They all have one thing in common tho. They all want to leave Germany lol. All my German friends want to leave and consider me so lucky to be going home to America. I don't wanna generalize but from my unscientific observations there seems to be two kinds of people here: Germans who don't want to go anywhere, and Germans who want to leave their country and see the world. The latter group for some reason seem to be more foreigner friendly, better at English, more critical on Germany, open minded, and easier to get along with than the former. Who knows why. I think this may go the same for other countries, and that's why a lot of you guys look outward so much. That's your nature. I use to be an outward looker but I think I saw too much lol.

So I'm not familiar with the German education system but the sorta caste system you are describing in Germany is basically what you have in America. People who are rich attend $30,000+ a year private schools from the time they are five years old. I went to a pretty prestigious graduate school on the east coast and 75% of the kids had gone to these prep schools their whole lives. I went to public schools my whole life and had never realized how skewed toward the rich the top universities are in this country. It certainly is not a real meritocracy.

And re: German equality and stuff, I feel like in Europe governments care more about preserving a strong middle class. So you get taxed a lot but you also get a lot of social benefits. The end result is that maybe that stifles innovation or makes it harder to get rich, but it also makes it much harder to get poor.

Finally, The Economist they had a great analysis recently about how US taxes are actually not lower than Europe once you factor in healthcare. Europeans generally pay for healthcare via taxes, Americans don't. Since America's healthcare system expends something like twice the amount per person that European systems do, Americans actually end up paying the same or even more in taxes/healthcare than Europeans. Just something to think about...

Probably not. I wouldn't change my experience for the world. British and German girls aren't that much different from American girls. I mean the US chick I hit got the same thing as the rest, hard dick. She tried to make it something more than it was but it wasn't happening. And she ended up getting sprung like all the rest. That was only one example, but I don't see how the girls can be so damn different. I can tell you if you break through a girls cockiness, or her self entitlement, or her snobbishness, with a comedic and genuine approach, I don't see how that shouldn't work. If a girl is self entitled, make fun of that right to her face with a smile. I would. If she laughs and you laugh, ice broken. If not and she wants to be a bitch about it, move on. If she's on her blackberry while she's talking to you, don't put up with that shit. You gotta set your boundaries. I gotta do the same thing with European girls believe it or not.

The difference is, if you went to a preppy grad school and I only went to John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt University for my undergrad, but if I've got more experience and certifications than you I'm getting more money than you. Or at least the same. Rarely does a prestigious university count significantly in America. Maybe JD's, MD's or MBA's, but everything else I don't think so. Especially not in IT. In Germany it's 100% about what you have on that paper. No matter if you can do the job better than the next guy or not.

I don't have the facts to back this up (in my Herman Cain voice) but from what my German friends tell me they still pay for doc visits. They just don't pay shit for medicine, or don't pay much. Plus they don't have people abusing the system like we do in the states. For now at least.

Love this thread, just wanted to add a quick response to this.

nomadicdude is dead on with his characterization of the school system's economic picture. I'm at an Ivy now and I can tell you that there is very little socio-economic diversity here. Representatives of elite Boston suburbs, Westchester County(NY) and Fairfield County(CT) seem to punch way above their demographic weight. The vast majority of the students here are, at a bare minimum, solidly upper middle class. I'm willing to bet that if you got financial aid to open the books, you'd see very few total household incomes below $150-250k. This place IS the 1%.

That being said, I myself am living proof of the meritocracy you're talking about. I've been lower middle class(and, on occasion, downright poor) for most of my life here in the USA. Yet here I am, a middling black kid at arguably the best undergrad in the country, taking advantage of absolutely tremendous resources and opportunities, paying next to no tuition for the privilege, and going head-to-head with kids who had far more resources and preparation than I ever did, and beating them academically to boot in most cases (judging by my grades).

Granted, kids of my lower socio-economic status are rare on my campus, but I have had tremendous opportunity here. I'm pretty hard on the USA in many ways (especially the dating, culture and the racial baggage the country has), but I'll give credit where it is due. America has given me every opportunity to succeed on my own merits, and to subsequently compete at and elevate myself to the very highest level, despite coming from a place far below that.

I will say this, though: prestigous university degrees do count here. There is absolutely no question about that. The effect is not as massive as some portray, but it is very, very significant. There are some lucrative careers that you simply cannot break into without a degree from a top undergrad (Ivy, Little Ivy, Stanford, Duke, etc). In more technical fields, though (ex: engineering, IT), it does matter much less.

I was talking to a guy at work about me going off to Thailand / China ealry next year, he's said numerous times it sounds great so I asked him why he didn't do it or at least come over and visit me for a couple weeks. He said he couldn't do the whole travelling thing because it was daunting and was scared he'd enjoy it too much. Imagine not wanting to go abroad because you might enjoy it too much.

He's just beta. It's funny how American guys like to act tough and aggressive in America compared to the way European guys act IMO, but when you bring up travelling abroad they become major beta pussies. I have a friend in his 30's who have never travelled outside the US. I finally convinced him how good it is and he started actually planning a RTW trip. I had a feeling he would back out, and that's what he ended up doing, claiming some BS reasons (take care of his parents or something). People need to man up.
