The fat epidemic is a massive parenting issue, and thats just that.

One of the first things I did after getting out on my own was to lose weight and get in shape.

Parents coddle their kids and tell girls like that that "they're beautiful" and they fill them full of oneitis about how there's a guy out there that will love them for them.

You know what my Dad told me when I was a fat kid? "You're a fat kid" Fucking crushed me, for years, then my parents divorced and my mom went into coddle mode, telling me how special I was and how some girl would like me for me, yet my dad's words still echoed in my head. The conflicting messages tore me up, gave me huge self esteem issues, and help produce the beta that I was for many years.

i agree with the fat epidemic being a parenting issue. just this weekend i went to the mall in my hometown and was disgusted. I dont usually see kids when im on campus but back at home you see the things you never noticed before. 7/10 kids were seriously fat, alot of the parents werent. every single one of these kids was there with their mom in the food court, their mom looked to give 0 shits and the kid was eating a plate of chinese food or burgers or whatever the size that i would eat for lunch and they were <10 i wanted to go up to the parents and ask why they let their kid get so fat.

They place the blame on the fast food industry. Remember the lawsuit against McDonald's on behalf of some fat kids? That's a parenting issue, parents that don't cook, but give them money to go to McDonald's instead. Yes, there are healthier options on the menu at Micky D's, but if you're a kid, you're not going to opt for the salad. You want the burgers and fries. McDonald's should have to eliminate the SuperSize as a menu option, or stop putting toys in Happy Meals because it encourages kids to eat them. It's up to parents to decide IF the kid can have it or not. It's up to parents to make junk food and soda a TREAT...not a regular part of the kid's diet.

Exactly these parents are so concerned with giving their kids everything they want they get lazy and feed them burgers.

Here in Canada supersize was removed about the time supersize me came out. Even still in the very least portion sizes should be controlled. If you look at shows like diners drive ins and dives many of the people interviewed will say the food is awesome because the portion sizes are so huge and its so cheap. That in itself is a huge problem.

I wish it were true that they had to pay for dick.
