I was reading roissy's forum and some guy commented that Singing is supposed to be good for 2 reasons 1- impress women 2- develop more dominant voice (like when you talk and everyone starts listening)

Has anyone learned singing for that reason? I can imagine it will help with impressing women, but does it really make your voice dominant? Is it worth it to take a few voice lessons? I have no idea how good I am at it. But I am willing to put the effort if it will really help. I am not talking about becoming rock star, but good enough to be able to sing in front of a few people, or in front of my date.

I used to sing a play guitar a lot. It transferred over well to karaoke game. Chicks love it when you bust out a song on the guitar. It can drop some panties fo sho! I recommend it.

I'm going to try to pick it up again, get into a bar band, in Florida. Emech said the pussy would be nonstop.

I don't think singing made my voice any different, as far as projection.

We have this funny kareoke subculture going on here. It produces endless tail. Even though I sing for shit I follow them from time to time.

That's good to know, I should try it.
One thing that has made me self-conscious is the fact that I have a noticeble accent (my native language is persian).
I have been to Kareoke bar a couple of times but everyone that was singing was native English speaker. I just don't want to look like a fool. I just need to try it in a place where there are other people with accent.

Ali,how did you learn singing? Did you take formal lessons? Did you learn from online software?
