A quirky student from Taiwan is hoping to prevent unplanned pregnancies and the spread of sexually-transmitted diseases with the help of fruit and vegetables. Guan-Hao Pan, who studies at the National Taipei University of Technology, has created Love Guide condoms, which allow men to find the right size by simply holding the packaging.



The condoms are available in five different sized containers, ranging from the smallest - cucumber - through to a courgette with a diameter of 5cm. In his online portfolio, Mr Pan explained: 'Studies show that more than 60 per cent of users choose a wrong size while shopping for condoms. 'In addition to discomfort, wrong size selection increases the risk of slippage and rupture. 'Love Guide condoms address these issues by introducing a new packaging system for conventional condoms. 'They come in five packages, each of a distinct diameter, such that holding the packages easily determines the right size.' Men can opt for cucumber, carrot, banana, turnip or courgette, depending on their penis size.




Mr Pan explained the 'breakage rate' can also be increased by wearing a condom inside out and by failing to squeeze the end. Therefore each condom comes in a case with a raised platform inside, making it easy to pick it up the right way while pinching the top at the same time. The condoms can also be distributed in vending machines, so customers can avoid some of the embarrassment of buying contraception over the counter.
