On the other hand I know personally of a domestic violence case (won't go into too much detail) where the girlfriend beat up on the guy, extorted him for money and some other major stuff (real felonies). Solid documentary evidence and third party disinterested eyewitness in the police report.

The American justice system is infected with "social justice" and "implicit bias" training and a near 99% conviction rate when they press charges (through plea deals). To get to 99% they stack charges and charge outrageous charges, almost always getting away with it because everyone makes a plea deal.

At the same time, they decline to charge cases (1) where the perpetrator is not the "right" kind of perpetrator (high SJW victim status); (2) where they don't have evidence so strong they can't ignore it; (3) when they have the chance to string up the "wrong" kind of perpetrator (like the guy in this story).

This guy was easily bigger than both of these idiot women put together.

That said, it is very clear that the guy was not going full force and was in fact, defending himself against a continuing attack. I think he showed great restraint.

I'm not saying this is your contention, but those who parrot size disparity in place of sex are so full of shit. It's just a way for progressives to appear egalitarian in sex/gender expectations without admitting women are infinitely inferior to men physically. I would give the guy overall performance a 7.5.
Even though he manages 3 knock down and one KO, you can clearly see him letting his guard down at 0.03 of the video. Also he has a somehow unhortodox, but effective, stance.

And the real reason the defendants don`t dear challenge the charges they`re prosecuted with is the insane penal code in the US. With the absurd sentences you can get, no one want`s to take that risk. And I can`t blame them either.

It`s and important observation you make; that the courts (the State) has in fact found a way to circumvent due process. They make it almost impossible to challenge the claims of the prosecutors in other words. So it`s a tyranny of sorts. The kind of thing you would expect in China etc, but not in the US.

And that's why they charged him super high. They think he is likely to plead guilty to it. Prosecution loves to charge higher so they will be in a stronger position to lower it with still good jail time. They also want to intimidate you as well, just like Mueller did to Roger Stone.

He failed to report and fled the scene is the biggest problem he has even if he has witnesses saying he was hit first. He needs a good lawyer if he wants to get off in something like a pre trial diversion with anger management classes, etc.
