I stumbled into a gay bar in Anchorage once, ended up chatting with an older Chicano gay guy and his two daughters . I guess he decided he was gay later in life. He was a hairdresser.

This was in summer, so it was light outside well past midnight. I was waiting on a flight out in the morning and was skipping a hotel room and doing an all-nighter. The company was pleasant and I was gaming the daughters some.

He invited us and another guy back to the house in the early morning. I ended up making out with one of the daughters, would have got the bang if there wasn't a party going on and there was no lock on the door.

I'm cautious about picking up girls from gay bars or who have close male gay friends. I've heard from several people that a lot of these "fag hags" actually fuck gay guys (guess they are bi but generally lean towards guys) occasionally because they get really drunk with them and can do it on the downlow. Makes me very wary of catching something off these chicks, even if I wrap it up.

I went to a gay club once with some mates to check it out, but from what I can remember, the ratio was something like 95% male 5% female.

Advantages:
1) You will probably be one of the only guys in the venue hitting on the women.
2) Befriending a cool gay guy may mean that he will introduce you to his hot female friends.
3) Little-to-no presence of thirsty betas pumping up the egos of the women.

Disadvantages:
1) Not many women.
2) I would say that a lot of the women who go to gay bars do so specifically because they don't want to get hit on.
3) There is a high chance that you will be hit on by numerous gay guys there.

In gay bars, I'd say more women go there for the novelty factor or they are part of a group with gay people. From what I saw at some gay bars, there are loads of old men drooling over hot younger guys (most of them are bar stuff). There are plenty of 'unattractice' or very regualr looking guys in the gay scene too.

I don't know that I would go out of my way to go to a gay bar but as we know girls love gay dudes and every girl wants a gay dude as their best friend so they definately go hadn in hand. I've been to gay bars a few times for girlfriends having bday parties and things like that at gay bars having like female impersonator shows. Also was down at one in New Orleans on vacation with a girlfriend of mine. Everytime had pretty good luck wiht women there. Also, with the gay dudes, if your not homophobic and a cool dude to them they will try to hook you up is what I have found in my experience.

Update to this thread:

Was on a date with this chick, we met at her uncle's art show. From there he wanted to go to a gay bar downtown and i said sure why not as i'm comfortable with myself. Once I got in all my preconceived ideas were blown out the door. I thought it would be a bunch of openly swinging dicks and dudes kissing all over. We went to two clubs and I only saw maybe 3-4 dudes making out.

Now to the good stuff: I was getting eye fucked by every girl in there(yeah girls not trannys or ladyboys), why you ask? Because I did a few simple things. One: I smiled only at the girls and did not REPEAT DID NOT make eye contact with one single guy in the club. I also for better or worse, dance stiff as shit. I think this showed the chicks more that I wasn't gay. Lastly my date was all over me being protective and the girls sensed it. I was being surrounded by chicks left and right. One even had the balls(vagina) to come over while my date was dancing with her uncle and dance with me. She was all over me and my date and her uncle came over and pretty much told her to beat it. Ratio was like 9 to 1 male:female. Of the females there majority fell below 5(60%), 30% average 5-7 and 10% fucking stunners. At least three chicks in each club were model quality and two were giving me the looks all night. I saw two other straight dudes with their GFs, one looked really mad to be in there, the other was in the corner kissing his chick all night. Yes, the girls are super friendly and the gays don't bother you at all when trying to approach as they seemed more concerned with finding their next hook up.

I did have three encounters with gay dudes, one was walking by and touched my stomach, I said "yo" and he instantly apologized and walked off. Another dude in the bathroom told me he likes to fuck, i just looked at him and he said nice to meet you and left. Then as I was leaving with my date somebody pat my ass. All in all was shocked by quality of girls and none aggressiveness of the gays. I probably won't go back solo or with my boys, but just a heads up for you players out there about this potential gold mine.

I don't really agree with any of this unless you can find a gay bar where there will definitely be a lot of girls. I'm sure that if you go to most gay bars, most or even all of the people in there will be guys. I'm sure this can work, but there are a million other things you can do to meet girls where you have a much higher of succeeding. I'm also sure that the guys in there wouldn't leave me the hell alone, because I get hit on by gay guys all the time and it's pretty obvious that I'm straight.

In my experience, it all comes down to timing as well as the "right kind" of gay bar. You want to avoid the seedy, low key gay bars, where you just tend to see a few haggard looking gay dudes out front smoking from time to time. The ideal gay bar to attract straight women generally offers a dance floor, good nightly drink specials, and plenty of accessory friendly potential gay besties.

There are two gay bars near a few of my regular spots and I'll occasionally pop in if there is a decent amount of attractive women milling about. Last time I visited one, I just happened to be walking by and spotted cute girls out front as well as a wedding party heading in there. I popped in and one of the chicks from the wedding party (might have been a bridesmaid) bought me a shot and I was able to run some light game, but eventually fell victim to a group cockblock. Still, an opportunity was presented by my decision to stop in for a couple drinks.

Also, keep in mind that some gay bars can be poppin' on Sunday nights when nothing else is going on. A lot of service industry women have Sunday/Monday off as restaurants are closed or not busy and they might be around.

Gay guys will generally just introduce themselves and maybe ask if you're gay. Once you tell them no, they will just move on to someone who is. Plenty of available dicks around.

So true about the less cockblocking. One of the chicks last night was about a solid 8, her friend gave her the eyes to check me out as I was walking by. I was so close to talking with her, but my date was watching me like a fucking hawk and I didn't want to fuck up for sure pussy for maybe pussy.

Generally everyone seemed friendly, like I got cool points for being in there. I went for a gay coworkers birthday once; gay guys can be good wingmen. They at least love to encourage you to approach. They have a don't give a fuck attitude which helps. As long as you're not uncomfortable around gay guys they will leave you to your own generally. I've seen straight guys who are uncomfortable get torchered because some gay guys like to fuck with them and make them uncomfortable with excessive PDA, like they smell blood in the water. That night I approached 3 sexy women who I thought were with guys (presumably gay friends) but when I got closer they politely informed me they were with their girlfriend ( who looked like guys). Yes, they are. If you live in NYC, this can/should be a key part of your strategy. Girls you know [and gay guys] will be going to the right gay clubs to dance and party and get drunk.

When I've gone, I'd say there's about a 20-1 ratio of women to straight guys. They are horny, get extremely more horny watching the gay guys dance throughout the evening, and of course drunker as the night goes on. I learned a lot of my high-energy game from gay guys and how they talk to women. It also gave me a different perspective on guy-girl interactions because of gay-guy interactions.

It really changed my views on how to approach. (early-mid 20s when I was living in SF)

There are some gay guys that got mad game and I could kick it and talk to them and then they try and swoop me in a polite way. Its funny watching it unfold. I turned it down obviously, but it was instructional.

Most gay guys are just terrible at it. Just everywhere.

It taught me a lot. There really is a way of going about things that shows interest and being forward w/out being needy. That fine line between aggression and creepy. You really need to see it to understand.

There is no better place to see it in action than the gay club when all gender roles are flipped.

I hate to admit this but I did this as well. When I lived in Seattle I befriended this gay guy who was hanging out with a barracks slut that I wanted to smash. It turned out that he was a good guy and we became friends. A few times I went to hang with him so I could be introduced to his so called "fag hags". The hottest girl I fucked while in the military was from that bar. The name of it was Neighbors in Seattle. It was full of bachelorette parties so most girls were late 20's instead of early. Many were 30's and that wasn't a bad thing for me at the time.

My cousin is the resident DJ at one of the gay nightclubs in San Francisco and pulls almost every night he spins. What he does is he'll point out a girl to one of the gay guys working at the club and the gay dude will bring her up to the booth. He'll game her a bit and then by the end of the night she'll usually ask if he wants company. He has it down on lock.

I've been to a gay club with a lesbian I know, and did get a bi girl there even when it was a quietish sunday night. The problem for me is though, most of these fag hags here seem to be pretty obnoxious personalities - similar manners to an effeminate fag, which is a major turnoff. Now, it might just be the small sample size I have, but it's not an atmosphere I enjoy even if the girls are easy.

But maybe there's differences between different clubs and bars too, that'd change my mind on that.

The one time I went to a gay bar for a buddy of mine's birthday, I ended up inviting a table of 3 chicks to come hang and party with us. They were cool and they ended up spending the whole time with me and my buddies. There were some gay dudes with us for my friend, but a majority were my straight friends. I ended up hooking up with one of the girls who was visiting from Russia. She left the next day and I still hit her up now and then. She was cool, pretty and had an awesome accent. I went to a gay bar that was supposed to be 50/50 mix (gay-straight), turns out it was 90% gay and the other 10% were straight girls. I found that a lot of the gay guys were actually trying to set me up with their friends, coming over and saying stuff like "which one do you like?"

Have a good reply ready cause almost every girl asked "if your straight, why are you here?" or some variation of that.

One of the positives is that they competition was non-existent although I found a lot girls there were virgin types who probably went there to avoid excessive male thirst.

I think you're point would be much better made if you can explain the two bolded sections in your comment below. Twice the competition? Do you really think there's a lot of lesbians in gay bars? Maybe I missed something but nobody who has posted their actual experiences in here has mentioned a high level of lesbian cockblocking. I've been to a number of gay bars and the number of lesbians has been decidedly low.

You're not going to find a lot of straight girls in the bar by themselves in general. Perhaps it's a little less often that it happens in a straight bar, but I don't see how this is a major factor considering the reportedly (in this thread and also in my experience) low level of lesbians in gay bars.

If there's any reason that most guys seeking women should avoid gay bars it's their own homophobia or at least extreme discomfort in getting hit on by gay guys (who can be very aggressive verbally/physically in their approach along with being much more likely to approach in the first place).

I've gone to gay bars with girlfriends in the past and the worst I've got is my ass smacked or I think once or twice a guy tried to grab my dick. I can see a lot of guys reacting violently to that, but I think it's more likely you're gonna see and be bothered by gay guys groping each other or go go dancers flashing their dicks or having them hard (usually viagra so they can have it hard all their shift) while wearing skin-tight pants/shorts.
