Wanda Barzee, who kidnapped and tortured Elizabeth for 9 months with her husband, apparently got out of prison 5 years early, and is now allowed to live next to a school.

Though the name Wanda Barzee may be meaningless to you, Elizabeth Smart is probably not and with reason-she's an incredibly brave survivor. Unfortunately, though, being outspoken about her kidnapping was not enough to keep one of her perpetrators behind bars. Instead, Wanda was released five years early back in September 2018 and...believe it or not...has recently moved close to an elementary school in Utah. Her second home near a school since her release, sources say.

To refresh your memory: Wanda's husband, Brian David Mitchell (who was sentenced to life behind bars,) broke into Elizabeth's home in 2002 and abducted her at knifepoint. For nine months the couple held the then 14-year-old captive, sexually abusing her, and leaving her without food and water for periods of time. That is until she was rescued in 2003.


According to USA Today, Smart called Wanda's early release "incomprehensible," and rightfully so-especially since she then moved into an apartment near Parkview Elementary School.

"Every possible caution and protection should be taken when it comes to protecting our children," Elizabeth shared in a statement with the Associated Press, USA Today reports."Whether a person is deemed a current threat or if they have a history of child abuse, neglect, sexual violence, et cetera, prudent measures should be taken, including housing them as far away as possible from schools, families and community centers."

Unbelievable and outrageous. The man got consecutive life sentences- more than if he had committed MURDER- yet this woman walks free after only 10 years?? My honest belief is she deserved half of whatever her husband got.

For those who don't know, she held Elizabeth Smart captive so her sociopath husband could rape the poor 14 year old girl every day for 9 months. She was a direct accessory to the crime.

I suppose this is going to be the trend moving forward in our dystopian matriarchy. Women will simply never be held accountable by the justice system for anything, men will receive the harshest possible punishments, with no regard to what they actually did (I am speaking generally, I believe the guy in the Smart case deserves life in prison for this).

By the way, for those old enough to remember, (I’m late 30s), this was a big story back when it happened, largely because Elizabeth Smart was a pretty white girl who was kidnapped.

I’m trying to recall the full details, but I believe her cuck father/family (those dang Mormons!) let this bum work at their house for a couple of days, no doubt doing a good deed in their minds, he saw the young girl and then kidnapped her a couple of days later. I think it should be common sense 101 that you do not offer some stranger a job in your house trying to help them out, especially if you have a young family with girls.

I’m glad for her sake that she has survived this ordeal, married with 3 kids in fact. Must have had an unbelievable support system to come out OK after something like that.

I've spent a lot of time in Utah and I can say without a doubt: Mormon culture is red pill in their interior and blue pill on the exterior. They have very strong family structure, a strong culture and way of life but a naive view of the world outside their community. I honestly wish I had been born Mormon - they're very happy people. Walking around the SLC airport in itself is an experience. Large families with little blonde kids, perfectly behaved, playing a game with their family. Their religious views may be a little wacky but SLC is one of the finest places in America.
