Blavatsky knew her shit and contrary to most of the forum I don't regard Theosophy as an evil movement and I regard it actually as being seduced by King of This World, but I digress.

Anyway, her book Secret Doctrine is something one with interest in how spiritual matters should definitely read. I don't remember if the curses are talked about in that book, but I know theosophists talked a lot about remnant energies. These stuff is probably what most people in their life experienced. It is a form of unease when entering place with troubled past. People experience it even when they are not previously told about past of particular place, thus eliminating any form of placebo effect. With remnant energies, close concept is haunting, which functions entirely different than Hollywood made people believe. Technically speaking ghosts do and do not exist. They are more of an thought form, than remnant Soul of an deceased human and their influence can be felt and sometimes witnessed if special prerequisites are fulfilled, such as humidity, psychic state of witness, temperature, time of day and so on.

Walls remember and walls know history better than any scribe.

He once brought back what I can only describe as an African Voodoo/Juju mask. It was horrific. Again, as a child it scared the bejesus out of me. Yet I was still strangely drawn and attracted to it, even though it frightened me in a way I had never previously experienced as a 9 year old child.

It might sound strange, but I believe I've led a cursed life in many ways. I've tried to go back over my life to see if the curse was anything I did to anyone or where it might have come from. Silly I know.

But that mask cropped up when I was thinking about it. Like it had somehow cursed my whole life. Strange I know. Just stupid thoughts...

Talking of masks and voodoo and all that. My friend and bass player in my band when I was 15 lived in a house not far from us. Now this house had one strange feature: all along the walls outside the house were little faces/figures/masks carved in to the stones. You could walk by and not notice them, but when they were pointed out you couldn't miss them. They looked as if they were worn in to the stone by natural erosion, they didn't look 'sculpted' as such.

This house was a cut above the other houses in the area, but it had one funny attribute - no one lived there longer than a year. It was perpetually on the market with a big 'For Sale' sign outside, all the time, without fail.

I went there once for a quick band practice and it had a really strange and cold atmosphere. Something not right. My friend would experience horrific nightmares in the form of the 'Old Hag'. They say it's a parasomnia or sleep disorder, and I've had sleep paralysis many times, but the way my friend described it was truly horrific.

Anyway, that's that. Then one day I was talking with my father. Now, he's a prick all right, but one thing he is not is a bullshitter. He told me a story about how him and a couple of mates were doing a bit of work on the side for a builder who was renovating that very same house of my friend, some years back. He said that when they opened the fire place up, at the back of it was a load of human hair and other weird voodoo like stuff. Some kind of black magic shit. I don't know. I mean, why the fuck would you bury/hide human hair at a back of a fire place knowing it would be sealed up.

All these things don't mean much I know. But the fact that nobody ever lived there longer than a year tells the biggest story of all. Something went on there, something happened, some kind of contract with dark satanic forces was made. It's a good job I don't believe in any of that bullshit. *

Another place I went in to that was definitely haunted belonged to this girl who was a chronic alcoholic. She was a right bruiser as well, and she'd have a fist fight with a man as quickly as she'd have one with a woman. She wasns't a bad person, and thankfully we got on. I was friends with here Irish boyfriend that worked in IT.

She wasn't the sort of person to make shit up. One day when out drinking with her b/f in an Irish pub in London, I asked him about all that shit. And he turned serious for a moment and said: it's not a joke, the place really is fucking haunted. We hear knocking at all times of the day and night, we get our shoes moved to different places from where we left them. You can just feel it. All of a sudden the temperature just drops 10 degrees, but more than that the air gets clammy and there's sometimes even these strange smells.

I could tell by his attitude that he was being deadly serious. At least he believed it anyway. I went in there once briefly for a piss when they were having a barbie out the back. I felt it too. I'm pretty sensitive to that shit. Especially for someone who doesn't believe in it.

This particular place was malevolent. It wasn't some kind of lost soul or spirit that was wandering trying to make contact. It was downright fucking nasty. I couldn't wait to finish my piss and get out of there.

Apparently they were trying to get moved because she had kids as well and it abolutely scared the life out of them. They even had an exorcism there from someone at the local church (she wasn't religious and didn't 'believe', but all the same, they were good enough to come in and bless the place). She said it worked for a while but then it came back with even greater force as if it was really pissed off now.

I have no explanation for these things.

I'll give one last example.

A friend of someone that used to play bass in my band (different time, different guy) moved in to a house with a few friends. Mix of guys and girls. They couldn't believe their luck. They got a super nice flat in a very exclusive part of London. It was fully kitted out with all mod cons and it was also very affordable.

It only took a couple of weeks and before next month's rent was due, and they told the agent we're going, we're not staying here and we don't care if we lose our deposit. They did lose their deposit - it was a six month minimum contract. And they weren't rich kids even though they came from fairly affluent families - a lot of them were Jewish.

I spent one of the most frightening nights of my life there, too fearful to go to sleep, just enveloped in this presence that pervaded the whole flat. Maybe they put the heebie jeebies up me by all the stories, but I could still feel it.

Same kind of thing. What many call poltergeist activity. Sarah, the hairdresser who lived there told me about having her glasses moved all the time. And just not being able to find them at all. And it pissed her off as well as frightening her because she was blind as a bat without them. They would sometimes disappear for a day or two at a time then just turn up when she least expected it, in some really weird place where she knew she would have never misplaced them, or even worse, in the exact same spot where she remembered putting them down!

They would hear footsteps. Doors that they closed would later be open. Same thing with the temperature just suddenly dropping for no reason at all. No one wanted to be alone in that flat. They were scared shitless. And again, not people who were bullshitters - they all corroborated each other's stories. They had a few to tell. I forget now, this is going back quite a few years by this point.

This place also had a malevolent spirit to it. Something nasty. Who knows why some places have this and others don't.

I've lived in haunted houses and have a lot more tales to tell, but suffice it to say, most places don't have this 'thing'. And often when they do, it's not purely malevolent; mischievous sometimes yes, but not that cold clammy brooding that just makes you want to get the fuck out as quickly as possible.

My mother's house is haunted. I've been quite frightened there sometimes, but when my brother lay there on his death-bed, it totally went away. You could feel that it had gone. It was almost as if it was a mark of respect to the dying that they didn't want to play their little games. This is a mischievous spirit, not a malevolent one though.

The people next door had some photographs developed, and there appeared the ghosts of two little children (girls) super-imposed on the photo that they took of their dog by the fireplace. Spooky. And these are people that aren't in to all that BS. Just normal people who realise that they seem a bit weird for even mentioning this stuff. But my mum saw the photos. Other locals have asked if they had 'experienced' anything there.

But many places just do not have this presence. When I lived in Asia I was next to a historic burial site. Burial mounds as far as the eye could see, in fact, people would come from all over the world to be buried there. But nothing. No presence.

The place we lived in before that though was very strange. Footsteps walking around your bed as you are trying to get to sleep. Paralysed with fear, pretending to be asleep. Your brother asking you when it's gone "Did you hear that?".

That place was full on haunted with ghosts floating through the halls and visible. Big white Owls floating outside of the windows. Moloch.

Some people are 'sensitives' and others are not. I wouldn't say 'mediums' because that is a load of bollocks. But there is something there. I just don't know exactly what it is. But I know what I feel, even if I don't believe in it.

When you study comparitive religion from places around the world you will come across Juju and Voodoo and Animism, be it from Haiti or West Africa. So none of this is that far-fetched.

Oh yeah, we laugh at and feel superior to those 'savages' that still believe in such nonsense. Yet here we are, talking about the exact same thing pretty much: African Voodoo masks.

My friend has house in the countryside.
First night I was there I heard strange knockings and feeling like somebody is watching in the darkness and breathing heavily. Many years later I talked to people who've also been there and to my surprise they all said they experienced the same thing.

The strangest thing is, once you accept there is some stuck energy there, it's not that scary anymore. It's like oh it's that ghost walking on stairs again. But it's enough for me to avoid that place. I don't like the feeling of someone watching me sleep.




What pisses me off is how all these ghost hunt shows and other mainstream make it all sound so crazy and impossible.

I read your post, it really fits the description of these phenomena. Regarding faces I cannot comment if that means anything. It might be really an avant-garde type of wall decoration, something that maybe first owners thought it was really cool shit to put on your walls. But it's creepy, no question about that.

But that human hair, it's kind of obvious that someone did magickal practice there and since that requires quite a bit of concentration and willpower, that automatically imprints into the artifacts used (hair). We could say that this hair is a holder of magicians Will. Theoretically speaking, what you can feel in that house might not be related to some evil beings. It might simply be that magician/s was/were evil persons and what you feel there is their personality, so their remnant "energy."

What I find funny though when reading or talking about this stuff is how many people actually experienced it, even those who claim to be skeptics and atheists.

Yeah, I forgot to mention the heavy breathing. You can't hear it, but you just sense it. You can definitely hear the knocking though.

The presence in my mum's house is a right annoying bastard. It waits for you to just drop off to sleep then it bangs the fuck out of the wardrobe, it's loud as fuck.

I lie there sometimes meditating for hours and hours. Not a peep. The when I go to drop off it's BANG SLAM. You'd need to kick the shit out of the wardrobes to make that sound. It's not just heat transfer and floorboards cracking. You feel it sometimes too. Even so, it's not malevolent, just fucking annoying. There is a difference.

Forget about ghost hunters and all those charlatans. Forget about mediums and old hags that read the tea leaves. It's all bullshit. But it's a good market and they tap in to people's ignorance and need to believe. There are even mediums that will contact your recently or long lost relative from the spirit world, for a fee.

It's the same with faux christianity. A lot of people hitch their star to good old Jesus. They believe it gives them an impenetrable shield. And it does to an extent. Who would ever question a man of God? They then proceed to 'bring awareness' to child sexual abuse, while asking for donations and selling t-shirts and mugs. To the mugs.

We don't need any more awareness of child abuse. We need action. We need people to be brought to book and prosecuted. Telling titillating and salacious stories about how the kids were abused is just wrong. But making a living out of it is even more wrong again. All under the guise of being a good 'Christian'. No wonder there is so much hate towards them who really do believe and get caught up in this shit.

I've got a lot of stories to tell, and I've even already told some of them here in my 1000 plus post count.

I have some theories as to what is going on, but I really am pretty much in the dark. And a lot of stuff just doesn't make any sense to me. I just know that there is something out there again on the edge of our perceptions, some people have a better “aerial” or “antenna” for it than others.

It's interesting how these threads are converging.

I have a lot of time for true Christians/Buddhists/Hindus/Etc.

But I also have a lot of time for the Atheists/Agnostics/Skeptics/Etc.

This is another area where I sit on the fence. With a big confused face.

It's somewhat related to the existence of God. I mean, how can you believe in ghosts and demons and not believe in God?

I know that there are other worlds out there. I traverse the astral plane in my sleep when I leave my body via lucid dreaming. It's not dreaming. It's real. Jung said as much, so it must be true!

And sometimes I have entered people's houses and slammed a few doors just to get a reaction. I don't do that any more. But it does scare people. I was just testing for my presence among them. Then when I realised I could be felt in their environment, I stopped.

Crazy? You bet!

A house I lived in previously built centuries ago and with a history - we had a shared funny experience one night. I'll talk about that house more if we get further in to this stuff and anyone is interested. I don't want to go too OT.

But one night, a very calm night, I was talking with the home owner and out of the blue there was a massive crash. A seriously strong slamming of one of the doors. The home owners reaction scared me as much as the noise that came out of the blue.

He immediately got up and started shouting "I can hear you you fucker, I'm coming!" and he ran up the stairs ready to do combat. He'd had shit with locals before and they burned our caravan down (the local fire brigade on a jolly believe it or not), but this was different.

I followed him upstairs to where the sound had emanated from. But there was nothing but silence and stillness when we got up there.

It might have just been a rogue wind. But I don't know.

He told me later about the psychic power of his mother and how she would cause all the windows and doors to slam in the property in a psychic rage. It was a very big property. On the top of the hill overlooking the entire village below. He was not a bullshitter either.

One day we had some people turn up at the house. Said they had lived there before. They asked if it was still haunted. He shut down all conversation.

Later he said to me: You do not mention this visit to Becky (his daughter) and you do not ask her about anything to do with this place being haunted. Do you understand? He was dead serious.

Apparently his daughter had been nearly frightened to death by goings on there. One of the reasons I was brought in was to keep her company. He would go back to London and it was just the two of us in this 18 bedroom mansion.

Later on I heard a story from someone else in the village that a woman had been locked up there after being stopped from marrying her true love. She committed suicide in the house. This is a fact, in fact.

But I never picked up on that. Though I did have some very very funny experiences that I can hardly put in to words. It wasn't malevolent though, just 'stuck energy' as you so put it.

I really don't know. I only know my own experiences and don't expect anyone else to believe them or understand them.

It was just odd, this man who never mentioned ghosts who didn't believe in God who was just one of those totally rational and down to earth people - seeing him suddenly change and mention the weird shit that went on there.

I noted in another thread some time ago that I knew a girl who was staunchly atheist, however one day our group got to talking about ghosts and before we knew it she was disgorging an hour long spiel about how she spent a couple of years living in a haunted homestead when she was just a little kid and the stuff she described was pretty messed up. Nothing subtle whatsoever about it. Rooms turned upsidown during 30 second absences. Large numbers of animals dying for no discernible reason. She was pale as a ghost when she recalled it and it was clear she'd blanked it from her memory for a long time.

Makes me wonder how many atheists are actually people who have experienced severe supernatural experiences and who have adopted their current ideology as a way of blocking out the things they don't want to remember.

I'd love to have a supernatural experience. My wife is afraid of ghosts (Vietnamese culture thing) and I've tried to tell her that she should be lucky enough to ever see something truly supernatural.

My logic is this: If you see a ghost, that implies a lot of things. That implies life after death, which implies that at least some of this stuff religion harps on about is true. Not just written down in a book by some (((desert nomads))), you have some actual first-hand evidence.

I've never experienced anything truly supernatural. A few things that after the fact seem odd. Like I was in a well-heated hotel room under a thick comforter and suddenly got deathly cold for 5ish minutes. Something like that has happened a few times over the years. But apparitions? Telekinetic stuff? Sadly, no.

That quote from Niels Bohr posted earlier reminded me of an old saying from my people: 'I don't believe in witches, but they exist'.

Here's an interesting story. Two years ago Portugal suffered horrible fires across the countryside. Several villages were basically decimated by the fires, and one of those was Mação. People were evacuated from their homes, which mostly burned to the ground or at the very least were heavily damaged. When the fires were finally extinguished, people returned and turns out only one house survived completely intact, as if the flames decided to skip it. Which house? Well, the one that everyone in the village said was haunted.

Don't know if its genuine. But I remember seeing a show about John Safran. Who dabbled in many of the occult stuff including especially the voodoo festival of Papa Geddi in Episode 4. Where there was a blood sacrifice and the TV crew being attacked by people who are possessed during the Vodou ceremony.

He never really talked about the experience. And he didn't really remember what its like.

What I also noticed is that his characteristic Lisp that he had for most of the TV series disappeared when "the Entity" spoke through him.

Thanks for that video. There is no interviews that I can find where he talks about that post-exorcism, and very little discussion except on atheist forums.

That didn't feel fake to me. Legit creeped me out.

The testimony of his crew member might have been the most chilling part of it. He seemed to think there was an evil presence not only in the host but in the room.

That exorcist was kind of a goof though. Seems God can make use of absolutely anyone.

I wish there was more coverage of this on the internet involving people who were actually there.

Man, that's powerful stuff. Being Australian and knowing a bit more about that guy, seeing his form struck down that way was really bizarre.

The irony here is that Mozart was a freemason, who might have been poisoned by his brothers. His last great work, the Magic Flute, depicts "enlightened" masons overcoming the darkness of Christianity (portrayed by the queen of the night) and taking over.

So this is where this whole degeneracy really started taking hold, with the rise of neoliberal, merchant class undermining traditional values, although Mozart's work is not intrinsically evil, to the contrary. In fact the Magic Flute might have been him rebelling against the masons, exposing their domination. He was just a genius oddball geek, whose irreverence might have cost him his life.
