Yes for all involved. If someone under age uploads nudes, it's child porn. Whose server is it stored in? Snap? IG? what systems do they have in place to prevent this? Conversely, how much money are they making off of it?

30 years ago there was a pornstar named Traci Lords who lied about her age, even had fake birth certificates. She made some porn movies while she was under age, and got a lot of people in trouble.all of the movie companies and video stores who paid for her movies had to destroy them, or else face prosecution for possessing child porn.

You could subscribe to a premium Snapchat but how do you know the girl is 18? I would stay away.

How do premium snaps even work? Do you pay snapchat, or paypal/venmo? Can anyone set up a premium snap? What steps exactly do they take to confirm that the person setting up the channel is 18? I could see Snapchat and paypal getting into a lot of trouble over something that some teenage girls did. That is sort of Snapchat's entire business model, although they don't acknowledge this in their prospectus.

As far as I know, PayPal will only issue a Form 1099-K when receipts exceed $20,000 AND there are more than 200 transactions for a particular individual in a given year. While both are quite possible for some of these thots, I'd be surprised if this is the case for the majority of them. The IRS would know about it anyway since they receive a copy of that form from PayPal if it's required to be issued. If they earn income under this amount, it's unlikely the IRS would spend any energy going after them for less than $20,000 in reported income if someone turns them in. Unless they are averaging at least $100 per transaction, it seems doubtful most of them are eclipsing that numerical transaction threshold while getting away with making big amounts for selling pictures of their titties at the same time.

I have no idea how Snapchat handles income receipts. One would think they'd issue a standard Form 1099-MISC for non-employment income for amounts received over $600 in total (as required by the IRS), but unless we are talking about major amounts the most the IRS would do is send them a CP2000 notice in the mail for unreported income. All this does it require them to pay taxes on the income they failed to report, or adjust a refund they are due in a given year if they properly file a tax return. Once again, the IRS receives a copy of that form so they'd already know about any earned income anyway (assuming Snapchat is properly issuing these forms).

Not trying to be a buzzkill, but I do taxes for a living and I think this is probably much ado about nothing at the end of the day from a tax standpoint. It sure is fun to watch though, and if it results in underage women being brought out of these illicit shadows then that's a good thing.

EDIT - Forgot to mention that I have a few cam whores as clients, and the ones that actually make any decent money are always issued the required forms for reporting. I doubt much of this is slipping through the cracks (no pun intended)....

Dudes, I hate to ruin the party, but the likelihood that IRS auditors are going to go after these chicks is VERY minimal.

Regardless of the platform, 1099s are issued for incomes above $20k or 200 transactions, and are issued by Twitch at anything above a few hundred dollars.

If the IRS gets a 1099 and you didn't include the income in your return, you are 99% likely to receive a letter demanding payment within 18 months of the time you filed.

Finally, some prostitute earning $80k a year in unreported income is not going to be proactively audited on a tip. She doesn't pay much in tax anyway - like maybe $10k in employment taxes and $10k in personal income. It's really not worth their time.

Other than being an effective scare campaign that rallies particular men and one that shames girls into either better concealing or avoiding Insta/cam/Snapchat-whoring, I don't see how this is going to lead where people want it to. I wish it would end up hammering these girls and dissuade those who want to emulate them, yet it almost certainly won't.

Think about it: if most girls presenting unsubstantiated and patently false rape accusations are usually let off (and have their anonymity preserved), what makes you think the IRS is going to go after most even well-remunerated camwhores?
