Salvini was en route to Ghana for a summit to discuss curbing the influx of West African migrants entering Italy via Libya when the news broke.

Isoardi was widely criticized on social media for the inelegant and highly public manner in which she ended the relationship.

“You did not deserve that, great man, I'm sorry for you. And anyway this photo is in bad taste,” wrote one disgusted user on Instagram.

Others joked about the highly suggestive nature of the photo, asking if it was an #aftersex selfie.

However, many people, including an MP with the centre-left opposition Democratic Party, complained about the poor taste and timing of the ‘announcement,’ as more than 30 people have died in flooding during a week of storms and flooding across the country.

“Here is the umpteenth episode of the South American soap opera ‘I Salvinos desnudi.’ While Italy mourns the victims of bad weather, #Isoardi shows us #Salvini half-naked in a hotel. Not a competitor on Love Island: THE MINISTER OF INTERIOR,” Morani wrote.

Salvini is an avid social media user himself, often making policy announcements and criticising his political opponents to his 900,000 Twitter followers and 3.3 million Facebook followers. He has yet to publicly address the break-up online, however.

It's interesting that this happens when Salvini's Lega reaches 35% in the polls. Since the electoral reform in 2017, a party only 40% of the vote to get a majority in parliament (they get a minimum of 54% of seats). He's close to having the popularity needed to win an election and form a government without a coalition, making MI5 surplus to requirement.

Maybe someone paid her to humiliate him publicly. We'll see the effects of this on his popularity and whether it backfires or not.

WTF. I thought it was a selfie with her lover that she was cheating with, but it turned out it's actually Salvini himself laying there.

Weird. Why would she do this publically? Humiliate him? But why did she write something that seems like an attempt to be sweet and post a nice photo of them two? Or just attention whoring and reach another level of fame? I guess, now she'll be known as the chick who dumped this politician pubically. Or is she just socially retarded and don't know that it's a very weird thing to do.

But she should already have enough fame and validation if she's been a model and a cook on TV, right? Maybe it's because she's feels like she's hitting the wall.

By the way I don't think she was dumping him with that post, I think she was just announcing it to the rest of the world (title is misleading).

If you're in Italy, IG is probably the easiest method to get laid with a local Italian bella.

I frequently look up 'Places' on instagram when I'm scoping out a particular restaurant, hike, view, or attraction, to see if it will be worth my while.

You can't look up a goddamn thing on Instagram these days without the top posts being some attention whore in some idiotic pose with some inspirational quote in the description. All nationalities are guilty, proving once again women are all the same, and just take the shape of the container they're in. Even if it's some remote little seafood restaurant in a fishing village, I guarantee you several of the top posts will be some attention whoring slut in the midst of her 'Eat Pray Love' rampage.

No need to worry for our friend Matteo. He'll find a (very) cute (and certainly, Conservative) 28 or 29 y.o. girl in no time. And I actually wish good luck in her life to the 35 y.o. woman, hopefully she'll find happiness again (she can't really be a bad person, as she used to be his gf, so she's probably right-wing). I mean, it'll be twenty times harder for her to find a good new lover, compared to M. Salvini who will get a new, hot girlfriend by the end of the month (week?).
