I was wondering about moving to the city here in Portugal after my 1 year trip.

Im 28 today, will be almost 30 when I come back. Will be moving almost for sure to the city.

Is it easier in the city than, let's say, a house in the suburbs 30 minutes by car? I mean, all of life, all that means to live like this, both getting girls and also doing more activities etc...

So the question is, city in a small apartment or 30 minutes by car suburbs but with nice house?

30 in a metropolitan area is young.

In the burbs or a smaller city/town, yeah, it’s middle aged.

I can't speak for Portuguese suburbs, specifically, but I would not want to be in my 30s and single in an American suburb.

Putting aside the lack of amenities and options, if you spent ten minutes on something every weekday, by the end of the year you've spent a workweek, over 40 hours, on it. (10 minutes * 5 days * 52 weeks / 60 minutes in an hour. )

Taken this way, a thirty-minute commute, sixty minutes round-trip, is like throwing away six weeks of paid vacation.

Yes, I'm speaking more in terms of getting laid more, possibility to find LTR etc...

You are right about the wasted time, but it will be more expensive also.

For LTR having a nice house in the suburbs can be a bonus. For getting laid definitely no...logistics are much more important for plausible deniability. Once you ask them to commit to a 30 min drive/taxi their hamster starts spinning. Besides, girls generally don't give a shit about the size of your flat. Sure it's nice to have a mansion in the middle of the city but if she doesn't like you it won't make her wet.
If you want ONS and bangs on the first/second date go for the small apartment. If you are patient and play the dating game go for the house.

TIME is more valuable than money.....

Yes, but I will have to cook my own dinners and take care of the house. I only do a fraction of that in my home. It will take probably the same time as the trip.
