Russian adjectives often end in -skaya. For example, one of Moscow's streets is named Tverskaya after the historic city Tver.

I have a good snigger every time I see a girl with the surname "Slutskaya".


Also, not a last name, but the Russian version of the name "Simeon" gets screwed up in transliteration from Cyrillic to Latin script for printing on passports. Can you imagine the strange looks a man would face if his name was "Semen"?
