While the student should certainly face punishment after being found responsible for harassment, it’s entirely unclear if reflecting on “toxic masculinity” is an appropriate punishment considering its ideological origins. It is appropriate for public universities to suspend students who harass others. It is not appropriate for them to adopt partisan talking points about the negative impact that men have on society.

The anonymous student told Campus Reform that the assignment made him feel like the university was pathologizing his gender. “That’s not just discrimination; that’s treating masculinity as a mental health issue, and pretending they have some pretentious duty to correct the supposed defects in my sex for the betterment of all society,” the student said.

“If the University of Texas-Austin had a program to counsel black students on how to tamp down characteristics associated with black stereotypes, nobody would hesitate to call that racist,” he added.

If you go into debt for your education and in return your future job depends on that education in which you put in 80k already, then he must bend the knee ideologically.

It was common practice in communist EE. You had to say a few pro-communist words and speeches in order to get your decent job as a chemical engineer. Otherwise you could always do the worst jobs and earn crap - that was ideologically free.

Eventually, very soon probably, we'll break. Or in my case, if I'm very lucky, I'll get enough money to escape and take my family. But that's increasingly unlikely.

I would love for a university to order me to write an essay on "toxic masculinity." I'd make a beeline for the Department of Evolutionary Psychology and ask them to hook me up with some studies on the innate differences between men and women. By the time I finished the freakin paper it would read like a Jordan Peterson lecture, with a long list of peer-reviewed academic studies. I would then post it on the Internet along with the Dean's name and a request for her to arrange a public Struggle Session (debate) that would be broadcast live on social media.

The university wouldn't expect that response, because they figure that I'd be scared of having my name linked to a harassment allegation.

I'm thinking Canada. Wealth into 25% Bitcoin. I'm not extreme, I don't believe that civilization is going to collapse. Stocks, bonds, real estate is all good in my view, but Bitcoin is clearly going to outperform.

Now people will criticize that since Canada is still SJW hell, which is true. But Canada has one very large benefit...it has not fully succumbed to the "lock em up" military/police state mentality that grips the US. This is a much bigger topic than I have time for, but essentially I think that Trump or no Trump, the US is turning into a Puritan Police state and there is nothin that stands in the way. If left wing, then it's a left wing police state, if right wing, then a right wing police state. That is America today. I say that as the most patriotic citizen in the world. We are in a dark time and it's getting much darker. As a father, my single greatest worry is that my children will be hauled to jail for breaking Federal law -- which they do 20 times a day, just like every single person in the US. It's just a matter of chance who gets taken to prison.

I want to get my kids away from that. I want to live without being in fear every night. That means out of the USA. Crushes me to say that.

Canada or Australia are the first choices. They have other problems.
