Baron Cohen is truly a troll, and there is admittedly something contrary and empty about trolls, living as they do in opposition to people with nothing of their own to declare.

Whether or not you accept them depends a lot on whether or not you think the targets deserve what they are getting.

I started souring on Baron Cohen during the Bruno years, but still think Ali G was first rate and innovative.

When you think of it, how does Cohen get away with it? His Borat impression is no different than a comedian in the 1920s putting on a black face. The people of Kazakhstan didn't like it. Look at what happened to Roseanne Barr. She keeps on apologizing for some innocuous tweet and walks around like a zombie not knowing what train hit her. He's not a comic genius. His act just shows you what you can do when you have access to power. It's like calling the janitor who accidentally trips the launch of a nuclear missile a genius. When you have access to power, you can play with it. That's all.

Of course you correctly assumed that it was a deliberate manipulation and the program was bogus and they were never going to arm 4 year olds. . . . that was kind of the whole point of the joke. I also thought that Bruno was vile garbage, but Borat at least was pretty funny. The new show is absolutely hilarious. It's really no one's fault but the politicians interviewed that they're getting run through the gutter. Obviously doing shitty Asian impersonations and screaming the N word is going to make you look bad. The bit with Roy Moore was absolutely hilarious as well. I actually got a Showtime free trial and watched full episodes of the show. There are certain parts that are genuinely funny -- like the Roy Moore interview and Erran Morrad's shtick. There are also parts that are utterly cringeworthy and impossible to watch. He plays a white liberal cuck character whose wife has a sexual affair with a dolphin -- the character is funny but that particular bit was unwatchable.

The guy has his good moments, I thought Borat was funny too. I definitely don't think he's picking on conservatives either, as the liberal white guy he plays is one of the most pathetic characters I've seen on television.

All in all there are bits that are quality entertainment and then some that are absolute trash.

Episode 4 was gold. I especially enjoyed his ex-convict character trolling an entire Miami nightclub.

Cohen is a genius. One of my all-time favorites is the commencement speech he gave at Harvard. Love seeing old the old ladies in the crowd laughing at the dirty jokes.

The Dick Cheney part was fantastic.

That reality TV star shooting a commercial to fund African child soldiers is genius.

Cohen belongs into the top 5 comedic talents in the world - bit sad that he weaponizes it for his political ideas.

Still - he is what most leftie SJW progressive comedians would love to be, but are universes apart.

The show itself is comedy gold despite his shortcomings.

I liked his older characters (Bruno, Ali G, Dictator, Borat) better than the 6 characters on 'Who is America?'.

Its a pity Borat became so famous about 10 years ago and he couldn't troll anymore with that character.
