Decided to make this new thread since we have threads about wheels we like, whether it's better to buy or lease, which car can we afford on a "Hood Rich" budget....but not a thread about our own cars.

I guess y'all can talk about y'alls whips or have mechanical questions in the same way the Ask a Tradesmen thread.

I'm debating whether I should spend money on my current car or just use that money to buy a newer whip. As much as I like my 180K mile SUV and wish to keep it for another 3-4 years, it's based on a car platform and the mods are non existential. 4Runners and Tahoes/Yukons have a large mod following, mine doesn't. Toyota needs to update their fucking Sequioa.

Either way, my car is a decade old/180K mi and about to need a new set of tires, struts, and some exterior scratches fixed. I can pay for it, just wondering what else is going to fail down the road and whether it's even worth it at this point. The only things I replaced so far is the alternator, 3 times. So I'm guessing the radiator, belts, A/C system, and water/gas pump are going to shit any day now in the Texas heat.

I forgot to say this, but I'm not doing this to pull bitches or anything....just personal financial preference. Want to keep this bitch until it dies but not if it's a money pit.

180K miles is nothing. My Chevy pick up has 377k. I’d get in it and drive it 1000 miles tomorrow, and the most I’d do is check the oil and tire pressure.

My chevy cracked 300,000 miles late last year (4.3)

Might get a 4.8 swapped into it next year if i feel im still up to it.

For now im plotting on a e24 6 series .i want to get it in the fall next year in manual.if i could find a m6 that would be a bonus. Id just be happy to have one before the prices go up.

I have an 03 Suburban with 185K miles. It looks nice and runs smoothly. I'm prepared to replace the engine or tranny or whatever else it needs to keep it running well for the next 10 years or more.

I looked at the cost to get a newer suburban with low miles. On cars.com, if you search for Suburbans with under 60K miles, they start at $35,000. I can keep my current one looking and running great for years on a fraction of that.

You both get rep points from yours truly for being pro-tahoe/suburban. I love the Tahoe. The old two-door ones make my pussy wet.

However, the best thing I ever bought is this 2500hd ltz. I swear to you, I was pulling this piece of shit waterlogged searay thing yesterday, and maybe was all the beer I drank but I forgot the damn thing was even there.

Pretty incredible. And it's nice and comfy in here. I love it.

Ford and dodge used Danas back in the dsy snd gm used 10bolts .dont think thats the case now.

L96 6l v8. And it's the 10 bolt diff's, I believe.

I have a 1988 (in paedophile white) dually thats beat to piss but ran until the front diff went haywire a week ago. In 4wd it's time there's a total lock on the front wheels. I could burn the back tires completely of if I wanted to.
