Use both, I've found that everyone is on everything so be on as many platforms as you can and you'll be okay but use it as a backup not a primary.

I think its a good choice to stay in Santa Monica in your case. Try to find either a hotel or an Airbnb. You can technically split your time between the two since you're in town for 10 days, but it can be a waste of a day to move especially if you pack heavy.

Birds are great for commuting within the westside (ie: going from Samo to Venice and back) but to get to Hwood you'll need to take the bus or Uber. To DTLA you can take the metro. Anyway you can figure it out.

In regard to dating apps, last time I went on Tinder was a year ago to check it out and there were some absolutely beat chicks on there. I've swiped through my friends Tinder and same thing, terrible quality compared to Bumble. There's no downside to getting both but my guess is you'll find way better quality on Bumble. Better yet, spend more time meeting girls in person.

Bumping in time for one of my favorite Los Angeles weekends of the year - Coachella weekend(s).

For those who aren't aware (likely very few), Coachella is a huge music festival that takes place in the desert 2 hours east of the city. Admittedly, it can be pretty fun, I've been several times. However it comes along with quite a few drawbacks... terrible logistics (5x surge + hourlong wait for Uber), heat, shitty lodging unless you know an old person with a house walking distance or are fronting $2k for an Airbnb, etc. This year even the music sucks. Ariana Grande anybody?! Anyway, you can assume given the time that I'm writing that I will not be attending.

Here's the nice thing: Because so many people from LA go, the night scene in the city changes significantly. On one hand, there are fewer people out. Somehow though, I've found consistently that Coachella weekend is a great time to pull. You have an easy as hell opener ("you aren't at Coachella?!"), all of the most hard-to-get chicks are 120 miles away, and the ones who are still in town are feeling major FOMO and are down to party hard.

Enjoy! This sheet is due for an update so will try to do that soon.

I should have recapped my trip from months ago. The memories are flooding back and I seriously want to go back. Here goes:

The moment I walked out the airport the sun was beating down on me. Yes, LA is fairly hot, I'm used to varying temperatures that range from -10 to 105. LA generally speaking also reeked of weed. There were also a lot of those crazy ass rent scooters that you had to download an app to use.

I spent a lot of time in Venice beach and it was gorgeous. My AirBnB was about 2 miles away so I walked to the beach often. I surfed for the first time in my life and got salt water up my nose. I also tried CBD coffee for the first time at the hippy grocery store about 1/2 a mile from Venice Beach. Up until that point I've been off drugs for years but CBD is a poor man's version of phenibut. Pheni will make you social, CBD is pretty similar to theanine. As most know LA is expensive and it's a great place to visit not so much settle down. There were so many hot chicks, I was surprised nobody started shit with me since I wore my MAGA hat (yes I'm really a knucklehead).

As for eating In-n-Out was okay, no different than sitting down at Chick-fil-a. Animal Restaurant was the bomb. Fun fact one of my excoworkers used to work at this restaurant.

The traffic from about 3PM-7PM is insane. I would complain about the morning and evening rush here in IL but LA takes it to another level. The neighborhoods are all spread apart if you were to live here not having a car is a death sentence.

I'll be back, LA is beautiful all around. I might be in San Francisco in a couple months and might do a train ride to LA. In many ways it's sad that if America were to break apart our beautiful states like LA may be in the hands of one of our enemies.

I'm going back to LA next week guys. I would have opted for Vegas but I didn't just want to pick up girls. I'm partying to some extent since my life is about to change yet again where I have to buckle down. I'm very excited, already packing up food so I don't have to pay for the overpriced, overrated LA garbage (haha). On a serious note anybody here know any good sushi places since it's the west coast?

If working in retail/food has taught me anything it's that life can only get better from here.

I'll briefly recap as it will be the same post as the one above this one unfortunately. Only minor difference is I might get laid on this trip.

Plenty of great sushi to be found here, just depends where in the city you're staying. Here are a few general recs. Feel free to clarify your location if none of these are close to you.

Cheap: Sushi by H (personal fav), Sugarfish/Kazunori (any location is great), Sushi Enya, Irori Sushi (in a strip mall but nicer inside than you think), En Sushi
Expensive: Nobu (most popular "basic" LA spot), Matsuhisa, Sushi Gen, Sushi Sasabune

Thanks for the reply RDF. I've also looked into food delivery companies and found a couple of what you mentioned. I'm hesitant to wanting to commute (fucking traffic) to those restaurants and would rather focus on following through on my itinerary.

It will be a blast. Looking forward to ending a long dry streak.
