We had a girl show up to a LAN party once. This of course was back when social gaming could only happen in somebody's mom's basement.

She didn't even bring her own computer, had no proficiency with the games, and then had an absolute crying meltdown when she couldn't compete and nobody would go easy on her. Even being the blue-pilled pussy I was, it was pretty funny.

So take that, amplify it with social media, and here is the result I guess.

Yeah, social-sperg 6's and down are going to be inclined to jump on any game where there's voice-chat and leverage the fact that nobody can see their cankles to get drooling attention from male gamers. The irony is that perhaps 9 out of 10 of the guys in the game will actually treat them far better than they treat male players.

It's the 1 in 10 who has simply internalised the fact he'll never meet them much less sleep with them who treats them as genuine equals in terms of the frothing grief he will level at them. In as much as a 10 year old boy will get annihilated for displaying weakness by allowing his voice to quaver or a sniffle to be heard through his mike, the precise same thing happens to women albeit more routinely per capita due to the fact that they're more emotionally vulnerable to begin with, coupled with raised expectations created by the adoration they're generally bestowed with by the white knight majority.

Just another case of women getting real, actual equality and mistaking it for bitter misogyny because they have utterly no frame of reference for what "normal" is when operating in a male dominated space.

I played the original of this game... and I had 12 year old boys say shit to me that was so harsh and disgusting I would have to stop for a moment and just laugh. What kind of fucking asshat takes these kids serious?

Oh... this pre-pubescent boy online said she shoots like a fag, and now she has cried herself to sleep for the last 10 days. We don't need bullyhunters in online games. We need bullyhunters in fucking schools. If you can't handle insults in online games you need to see a psychologist.

I played Counterstrike since 1.3. CS is a game for the elite. Even casuals are usually above average for a gamer. I was CAL-IM ranked at one point and I can count how many times we ever faced a girl in competition outside of the clan pubs. Zero.

In another time, top CS players with their hand eye coordination of a fighter pilot, would be pilots instead of gamers, with the intelligence to match it usually. CS players are not autistic at all. More OCD, heavy trash talking, perfectionist, and extremely competitive.

You want to see autistic gamers? Pretty much any strategy, turnbased, 4X, Sci-FI heavy, war historical, and card games. CS people, especially pros are in good physical shape and are just too serious for sperg out stuff. Unless you ever been in that world it does not seem different from other generic gamers, but your average CS player is a different cat. FPS Doug and Jeremy got recognition because they were actually autistic and that was strange for the time, for a CS player. They are Canadian too, so could have just been that.

Trash talking in CS is just part of the culture. Even in serious clans and many pros, even nice and cool guys like Hatton talk a little bit of trash. It's not the same level of trash talking in COD, but it is common to ride someone who cannot hang in a matchup, before or after a match. For years in CS 1-1.6 you could spray a custom avatar on someone's dead body or a wall after killing them. We used to put all kinds of funny and insulting shit on our sprays. It was all part of the psychological warfare to get someone agitated so that their shots would be slightly off even a millimeter. Made all the difference in the world.

I was in CAL to, got recruited by friends in a local LAN Cyber Cafe.

I haven't touched a video game since BF3 which I loved dominating on.

The real mental fuck was when someone would go spray Tub Girl pics everywhere (serious warning to those not familiar: DO NOT go google this. It's disgusting).

I'm still traumatized from that.

Anyhow, I recall playing a co-op game (not CS) with an ex once. When I started giving her some standard shit, she practically had a nervous breakdown. I was a big asshole apparently and yada yada.

THEN she heard me play the same game with a good friend of mine, heard me talk the same way, and she goes, "Ooooooh, so that's just how you talk to each other when playing games. I thought you were just being mean to me earlier."

She is an ex for a reason. Dumb over sensitive bitch.

I retired from CAL to play WoW. I played semi-casually and was still part of 2 strong clans. CS was good warm up for WoW PVP, back when the bragging rights were still huge. After college, I was just an admin on the clan servers, kicking occasional ass, banning kids, cheaters/hackers, most girls, anyone acting gay, bigots, etc. I was like Tuthmosis back then the more I think about it because I would clown them hard before banning them, making the whole server laugh and join in. Good times for sure. It kept me out of trouble at night when I was not working and training MMA.

Then sometime after I hit 30 I logged in one day and did some competition matches, could not even get 5 kills and died 30 times. Got clowned by some much younger guys from my clan. They could not believe how hard I sucked. Happened a couple of more times, then I realized, I was washed up and my eyes were just too old to keep up. I got old overnight. Uninstalled it, haven't played it since. I went from once getting 100 kills to 5 deaths in a high ranked public server, and once clowning 3 famous pro members of Clan 3D, making one rage quit, to being as good as an average COD player.

I still miss it alot to be honest, but I know better than to play it again. Funny enough some those same clan mates have given it up for good too for the same reasons. My how times change.

I don't want to think how many hours of my life were wasted on cs_assualt and de_dust2. Then you add in playing TF on Quake and HL and I really feel bad. Could have been chasing girls :/
