Probably a stupid question, but how likely is it to be able to watch the world cup in Miami sportbars?
I guess the interest among locals will be quite low since USA didn't qualify, then again...a lot of Europeans in Miami.

Every bar in Miami would show all the matches.

There are more latino's than white Americans in Miami. They all watch football there, I've lived in Miami for 5 months. Plus, all the matches would be around 1 or 3 pm in Miami, so there's no nba or nfl at that time anyway.

Any bar would show all the games.

I imagine Miami will actually be one of the American cities with the most interest in the world cup since most people in Miami are Central/South American.

Mexico lost 2-0 to Denmark yesterday and the Mexican media is slamming the Mexican team hard for losing that friendly. Saying things like "We shouldn't even show up, we are going to get wrecked by Germany"


But the other day Germany loses 1-0 to Austria, and no one bats an eye. "Oh its just a friendly".

Mexico is the same as every world cup, a good team with technical and fast players, who might cause an upset against a strong team, but who is most likely to go out in second round and could equally lose to other decent teams such as Denmark. Jesus corona was looking good though.

Also, I don't know if its just me but excitement for this world cup seems pretty weak. The Russian people don't seem to have much World Cup spirit like the likes of Brazil or South Africa. Its just not present for me. Am I wrong?

I believe Poland will finish second in the group if Lewandowski does what he normally does.

Im not in Russia, but spoke to some girls I know in Moscow and they're planning to leave the city for most of the world cup, due to all the chaos.

Russian girls doesn't really enjoy the loud and drunkenness a WC normally brings and about 90% of the visitors will not be as charming as the average Rvf'er!

Im sure the WC in RU will be amazing for the ones who leave, but personally I would go for the international party and the football, not for hooking up with Russian chicks.

It's not difficult to pull quality compared to the west, but your foreigner status will be at an all time low during these 4 weeks compared to the rest of the year.

Canada, Mexico, USA to host the world cup in 2026

USA will get 60 games
Mexico will get 10 games
Canada will get 10 games

The opening game will be in Mexico and the US will get the quarter finals, semis and final game.

What do you all think?

Saw some morons from a local tv program (argentina) making some interviews to russians around Moscow, and into some "soviet blocks" neighborhoods. Mostly trying to interview people in broken english/russian. It was painfull to see, but i was impressed by the level of local talent walking in the streets.

Probably slim. I think people need to enjoy the football, atmosphere and exploring cities rather than worrying to much about gaming women.

It will be great either way but surely there will be much more men in the city harassing women than during normal periods. Not exactly the best time to visit if that's the main reason.

Quick trip update:

I arrived in St. Petersburg on Tuesday. So far I got totally drunk everyday with my mates and had the best time of my life with a lots of Brazilians. We mostly hung out at the area around the fan fest which is just a short walk from our apartment.

I will go on a date with one girl in a few hours. Got her number yesterday at some bar close to the fan fest. For Russian standards she is only a 6 so nothing special but seems to be into westerners so this could work out quickly. Also got the number of a Brazilian MILF in the stadium. But she leaves today so nothing is going to happen there.

My general opinion about St Petersburg is positive. The city is beautiful and the World Cup is amazing. But I am a bit disappointed about the quality of the girls. Of course you have your Slavic stunners but in Ukraine the quantity is much higher. For most guys I met here it is the first time in a Slavic country so they love the girls here but I am a bit spoiled through my long stints in Ukraine. Also girls here seem to be very westernized it almost feels like Poland. So if you want to go for a bang trip St Petersburg seems to be the wrong place.

As for the World Cup it is not about gaming and banging girls. You should only come here for the love of soccer and having an amazing time with your friends. If you want to hook up with girls I think Ukraine is way better. Much cheaper and better looking girls.

And one last thing. If you have a ticket to a game make sure you have the right name on it and it matches with your Fan Id. When you go into the stadium u have to scan the ticket and the Fan Id. If this does not macht they will not let you in. The security checks are super tight here.
