Its not a fair comparison, sure crooks will get access to guns and there will always be somebody who if determined might get his hands on one. The point I am making is that we rarely if ever have gun crime outside of gang violence here, you will never hear of a teenager going into a school and murdering a bunch of people because they are depressed. In short its a lot safer.

Ireland is not in the UK, we fought and won a war of rebellion against the British over 100 years ago.

You can drive through the entirety of Ireland within 2 hours. That is the commute for many Americans. Also highly different history and makeup. Americans had to be armed from the beginning and even for Canadians it was highly recommended.

Take the M4/M6 from the outskirts of Dublin to Galway and you might make it in 1.5 hours.

Of course that is the shortest route there and not overly telling.
