I don't look at is as how many dates it takes to smash, I measure by my wallet. For instance maybe we went for a walk one time, another time we just hit the beach and smoked a J she had or I put some whiskey in a flask. Dates could be anything from a walk in the park, to a $50 a plate dinner where you have so much silverware in front of you, ya don't know where to start (work outward, in). Time is also an investment. But chances are if you're out with her for the 3rd or 4th time she's relatively pleasant to be around. I'm not some work hound either, so I have plenty of free time to invest in a potential bang if she's pleasant to be around and isn't putting a dent in my wallet.

As long as you make _reasonable_ progress from date to date, an exact number isn't that important. Every scenario is different but you shouldn't provide attention for peanuts. However, if you find yourself in sexless purgatory way too often, then you should re-evaluate your date game. The rule of thumb is 3 dates. My personal max was 5 and it felt like forever. The girl was a virgin. In hindsight, If I was more forward it would've probably been 3-4. Either way, the longer it takes, the more value you lose.

As others have said it seems to vary from country to country. In my native Denmark almost all I ever did was first night lays (didn't do much dating back then, it was mostly night game for me until I hit my early 30s).
The years I've been here in Bulgaria sex has happened between the second and fourth date (or not at all, obviously) - but no Bulgarian girl has ever agreed to go home with me until she was ready to have sex, it seems like they know what's expected when they go home with a guy.
Thailand is really the only other country where I've tried dating a bit (on other vacations it's solely been pick-ups) - between one and three dates required for me there. But unlike in Bulgaria where the girls will usually put at least several days or sometimes a week between the early dates, in Thailand the first two dates sometimes happened in the same day, noon and evening. And if a third was needed it would be the next day.

Completely depends on the girl. I have banged plenty on the first date (see: sluts). Others have taken 4-5+ dates (see: virgins). Most fall somewhere in between.

But I don’t see any value in setting a strict number if you have the social awareness to realize where you stand. The important thing is to make sure you are always escalating to some extent (once again, the pace of escalation will be faster for some girls than others).

If goes to my place better bang her or she will flake. But top tier girls seem to flake hard if you do a snl.

If girl refuses to come my place then second date and that's it.

There is no ‘one size fits all’ rule to this but a good rule of thumb is:

Western (Americanized) women: 3, ABSOLUTE MAX, even that is pushing it in my opinion

Foreign, more humble girls: 5, absolute max, if you have good game you can easily do it in 2 or 3
