I just talked to my father, who just married a woman 34 years younger than him, and I felt like I was talking to her instead of him... Like he was controlled by her in every way.

It got me thinking that married men sometimes lose their will, if you may, and become completely manipulated by heir wives. Almost like the man is the horse, powerful and noble...and the woman is the rider.

Every relationship the man has is controlled by the woman, his life, his way of thinking for Christ sake.. The man may have complete control over his job and the business world, but every aspect of his social life is determined by his wife.

Before my mother died, I just didn't see it like this... because you can't view your own mother's action objectively; but once this new woman came into my dad's life it became blatantly apparent.

He's even a vegetarian now!

God help us.

The guy was probably beaten down day after day in marrige 1 and wife 2 came in fresh from the game, ready to settle down and he had been retired for I assume 20+ years.

I dont think a man should promise any woman 100% momogamy as that give the female too much power. Instead say you openly get side pussy and thus giving her less control over him with her pussy.

Monogamy has shown to lower testosterone. Every man needs a purpose, Your father may have lost his way and he may be doomed in that relationship framewise, But he could dump her, get to the gym, diet all the other things.

Give him The Rational Male series as a late christmasgift and try to point him in the right direction.

that is sad, not sure if I ever have known of anyone in that scenario. If anything, I know men who control their women in a social setting.

Getting a girl 34 years younger than you is super alpha behaviour by default.

In theory the guy has done well if he's 60 and marrying a 26 year old "solid 7 good girl" (I am skeptical about your characterisations though). In practice I would be very cautious. I've seen situations like that go bad, and also I've seen it work out.

You seem emotional and light on facts which would enable us to give opinions on whether he's being played or not. Perhaps you resent this woman stepping into your late mother's shoes?

I don't think I see it the same way as you. Social circle for example, Id rather let the woman just maintain the social circle with friends cuz it gives them something to do, and I don't care to constantly call people and check in on them etc. He could just have the doesn't care about social circle attitude, and just easier if she does it.

I personally think he's got it down. He's got a grade A pussy and in control of all the finances / money. Regarding vegetarian, maybe he just wanted a lifestyle change and he feels better and more energetic from the change. She's prob a lot happier and cooks all the meals for him anyway. Or maybe im just biased because im vegetarian lol

She's South American, hence why I call her a good girl. Her parents are good people and she's outwardly a very nice person.

She was the nerdy type growing up from what I see from pictures, and she didn't have very many boyfriends. Quite a traditional family.

But again my father is totally pussy whipped, I'm not making excuses for him. It's not normal for a father not to be able to have a private conversation with his son. She's changed him completely.

Yeah... getting that type of pussy as a 60 year old must be driving him mad. But he's got to man up and set boundaries, he's still my father and his relationship with me is between the two of us.


I'm completely reconsidering what kind of trust I can put on married men. It's not them anymore, it's their wives you're talking to.

Sounds like a kid who just got a new toy for christmas. This is why gold-digging is a thing. Young women know their youth is intoxicating to an older man. I'd be less concerned about the attention she's stealing away (which will run its course) and more concerned with whether he's priming himself to be taken to the cleaners. I mean, you're complaining about her and white-knighting (calling her a "good girl") at the same time. AWALT. Your dad is entitled to bang out a young chick but just needs to be convinced to protect himself.

The relative ages and roles here are interesting to me, because I hope to be in this position myself in another ten years.

Seems like the standard advice would apply -- don't get married, if you do get a pre-nup, don't live somewhere with common law marriage or child support obligations.

Is there any special advice any of you would offer here?
