Man, I'm from Mexico but well traveled. I can't believe what you are telling. I mean, as a rule, the higher the status of the chick the less hair she has. Upper middle class chicks in Mexico (they are called 'Fresas', literally 'Strawberries') tend to copy the consumerist American or European way of living. So, as a Mexican I would have expected her to be full shaved.
Gosh, I guess it was an instant bone killer, man!

Here is what I have done in the past:

When you are making out and the clothes are off, but underwear is still on, mention that you have this sort of embarrassing fetish. When she asks what it is, grab her and tell her to come with you.
