We've had many, many pages devoted to high status men with ugly wives, so why not showcase men who improved their lot, especially after coming into high status or wealth.

To kick off with, here is Nathan Lyon, Australian cricket spin bowler, with his former de facto wife:





He's a decent bowler at international level, but he has struck me as a bit of a dork in the quite macho Australian national cricketing culture. I like him, I just always felt he was a bit of an outsider. Good on him for plowing through and refusing to settle with the woman above.

Of course, the former partner has now complained to The Daily Mail that she's getting fucked over, despite the fact that Lyon apparently did the "right" thing and ended things with her before finding his blonder pastures.

You see a problem when her mother, presumably in her 50s, looks a lot better than she does:



When the sexual marketplace realities hit women, they even get flowers delivered to them.

I do have my doubts about where this will go with the blonde and Nathan Lyon. She grew up in Mount Pleasant, a very wealthy area of Perth, and I do not think she's as independently wealthy as The Daily Mail claims (her parents were probably loaded). He may indeed get taken for a ride.

Nevertheless, good on him. It's been a year with the upgrade and he seems to be having fun.

My comment on the first post about Nathan Lyon:

It seems to me that under that fat, there might be pretty face. But she is so rotten, that she rather got kicked away instead making herself better.
She could live comfortable life next to professional athlete and raising together their children and be happy untill death ...... only if she made a little effort and started to exercise for few months.
That only little easiest thing she could do was to lift up her fat ass and make a little effort to look better. Which takes maximum 6 months!! Aargh

I'm all for good body language but I have to say that some of the analysis of body language on this forum goes way too far. It can resemble micro-picking.
