First, Texas CPS failed this kid, badly. They deserve lot of the blame for what happen to his child. Judging by the article, the mother was taking him all over the place to avoid anyone noticing that her boy is healthy. The women has experience with the medical system, so she knew how to avoid anyone figuring out what was going on. This woman has munchausen syndrome by proxy. In plain English, attention whore who intentional gets her child sick or place under unnecessary medical procedures.

This why all med students are taught to taken entire history of patient, to find bullshit like this.

Yeah, OK, but the lung transplant list?

Surely, the first major safety valve on that list is a surgeon answering something like this:

"Have you confirmed that the patient has a condition which requires a lung transplant? Y / N (Circle Only One)"

The father says he has never been presented with any medical documentation showing that the son was sick. Where did the referral and supporting evidence for a lung transplant come from?

The thing with munchausen syndrome by proxy is person making the victim sick has good amount of knowledge on how medicine is practice in this country. She knew how to game the system to get her son treatment. She must provide the necessary documentation to back her claims. Even then, there is saying in surgery, trust no one. Its story like this that you double check a person's claims. What sad about this story is how long it took someone to piece together the mother was crazy bitch.

Knew of a couple of munchausen syndrome by proxy in my line of work, but even in my part of the world that kind of shit is usually caught early. Its a sign that tje family courts system and CPS in the US needs a serious overhaul.

Munchausen by Proxy is some really wicked shit. Just heard about another similar case where a mother tapped blood from her child and getting more than 1 hundred liters from hospitals before she got caught.

This is one extreme example of why I will NEVER date a single mother or sleep with one knowingly. Because in one way or another they tend to be bat shit crazy. The cons far outweigh the pros, if there are any pros at all. What really makes me mad is that this guy is paying his child support on time every month like he is supposed to and STILL gets denied visitation. I wonder if this guy has any legal recourse to go after the city, county, or the state because this shit is ridiculous.

You bet. I like my money, which is one of the reasons I decided not to have kids. Think I want the government reaching into my pockets for money to babysit someone else's kid? Haha, nope! Anyway, this wouldn't even be a problem if muh small government was actually small and wasn't reaching into my pockets to fund medicaid, which paid for those surgeries to begin with.

Now abortion? That's something I'll happily pay taxes for. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, as they say. Not only will I end up paying less in taxes on the long run, but it's better to fight the enemy in the womb today than in the streets in 18 years.

I noticed that he lamented not hiring an attorney from the outset. It seems like most people believe they'll win in court because they're right and the judge will "get it". When they find out the truth, it's too late.

My one experience in court taught me that you should do what you need to do to avoid it altogether unless you're prepared to come like this:

It's probably the same line of reasoning people use when they decide speak to the police, when they ought to be keeping their mouth shut until they've consulted with a lawyer.

I don't need to wait for an attorney before talking to the police, because once they hear my side of the story they'll see how innocent I am!

I don't need an attorney, because once I explain to the judge just how batshit crazy this boy's mother is I'll get custody of my son!

Reality: judge blocks you from seeing your own son while psycho bitch mom kills your kid with endless medical procedures in a sick bid for attention
