I sold a lot at 19 last night and bought back in today. Only people stupid enough to leave their funds on BITGRAIL of all places got fucked, I'm glad. This is a great day.

It's just as fast and feeless as it was last night so I'm not bothered by this. It might not reach the $37 ATH again but I think it will rise to at least $20 again. Good buying opportunity.

Everyone loves Kucoin I personally hate it. Maybe it's because I'm in the USA but I think of top tier exchanges as being like Binance, Bittrex, Bitfinex and maybe Poloniex and Kracken though I havn't personally used either.

I always find it odd when quality coins roll out on some bullshit exchange like Bitgrail, Cryptopia, HitBTC etc.

Again my view may be because I'm in the USA and those exchanges are the most popular and most easily accessible with the exception of Bitfinex since they cut off new USA customers.

I like Raiblocks/Nano, but this video here turned me off. It claims Nano includes a technical failure that could be exploited. I'm no tech guy so can't verify, what do you guys think? That Youtuber is very legit.

I think #1 got fixed.
#2 doesn't even sound feasible.
#3 he basically admitted doesnt work
#4 he literally said the defense
#5 buying up 65M+ Raiblocks now is pretty much impossible.
#6 XRB can do more than 7k transactions per second. There's a reddit write up somewhere on how it can go to 100k or something, too technical for me tho

And it's now up to 15th on Coinmarketcap looking like it's about to replace the shitcoin Tron. If that happens it will be in the company of coins like Monero, Dash, NEM, IOTA, EOS, Litecoin, Stellar and Neo.

IIRC the theoretical 7k tps came from hardware limitations, not XRB.

RE: RaiBlocks (XRB) thread
What an absolutely brutal day for Raiblocks. Today was a bad day for everyone, but it was one of the biggest losers when I looked, with losses in the realm of 48%. That's half its value gone in a day!

The BTC drop came and kicked it right in the knees just after it got the liquidity provided by binance, but before enough people had gotten the chance to take profit, distributing it out into a wider group with a higher entry point.

Oww.

Kinda lucky that I got forced to sell my XRB a few days ago, as a result of bitgrail deciding they couldn't have non-eu accounts. Still haven't been paid my BTC though...

Finally bailed out of XRB, it had no partnerships and the team royally screwed up the early exchanges. It seems like a bunch of kids are running the show, very amateur compared to operations like ICON/VeChain which are similar marketcap.

@Graft

-XRB is a currency coin. Very different space than ICON/VeChain. What partnerships does BTC have? Currencies don't get partnerships, they get adoption. BTC hasn't become really adopted outside of the darknet because it's not better for merchants or customers than credit cards. XRB is better than credit cards, due to no fees.
-Keep in mind that XRB is the first DAG technology with a working product. Also, much of the exchange problems have nothing to do with XRB (cough cough Bitgrail!)

I guess he wasn't talking about the quality of the coin, but rather about the size of the project. XRB is a fascinating technology and innovation, but it feels like a tiny project that was surprised by its success. BTC to XRB is like an aircraft carrier to a rubber raft.

Up until 2 weeks ago, their website looked like from the 90ies, and even the new one isn't that great. I know they are trying to grow quickly now, and I wish them well. Owned some until a couple of days ago. There are galaxies between them and BTC though, in terms of participation, adoption, brand, etc.., etc...

This is correct, but to address Gringo, XRB has no adoption-far less than BTC, even LTC. Pure speculation at this point. People are shilling it like it's the next Bitcoin-it has a ton of work to do before that is even in sight.

It can still moon, of course, but I'm skeptical if the team is ready for that.

17 MILLION XRB, or $200 million just got robbed off of Bitgrail. I was smart/lucky enough to sell my XRB for BTC at a loss and get my money on termination.

What a shitshow this coin is, get ready for price to dump again.

Very sad news. Once again, not a problem with the coin, technology, or the team. The worst thing that could have happened to a shitty exchange just happened.

A lot of Nano believers now have no Nano and I can imagine they're not going to buy more. This is a major blow to the community and perhaps overall trust in the coin as well.

I'm thinking of jumping in at $6 or maybe even $5 USD.

Despite the steal, it seems it's still a powerful project that won't be going away soon.

If it hits $6 I'll get back in for sure, that's a 6x potential from it's all time high.

I can't believe people are letting the XRB team off the hook for the Bitgrail fiasco. You don't think they should have vetted their main exchange better? For a multi billion dollar project? Totally amateur move.

Maybe $6 is wishful thinking. What value would would guys consider "despair". Its at $8.63 now.

Well for the amateur move... the Nano team's statement did say "We had no knowledge of BitGrail’s insolvency prior to February 8th."

Doesn't seem so much of an amateur move given the "wild-wild west" era people say we're in.

This situation could have been handled better, but it is still important to consider...

Nano was selling at $0.20 on December 1 and then experienced astronomical growth the management team could not have been prepared for.

They (specifically LeMahieu) have been forced to grow up quickly the past three months, and there's naturally going to be stumbling blocks when learning to placate the market who could not have cared less when it was seen as just another shitcoin.

Now that it is viable, there is less room for error. It doesn't surprise me that a team of programmers and developers struggles to address the media and crypto community in a more diplomatic fashion.

Same here.

Bitcoin had Mt Gox, and Ethereum had its own hack, so maybe this is just Nanos bad moment. It won't mean much in the grand scheme of things.

This depends on what bitcoin does. If bitcoin continues to drop to maybe 6k and nano falls behind 100k satoshis <$6 is a definite possibility, I exited around $11 and will be looking to buy back in if that happens. If not I may stay out for a while as btc is way too volatile right now.

Comparing Nano to Bitcoin or Ethereum is extremely premature and insulting to those coins. Nano is just another "instant" transaction coin that gives every exchange problems when it launches. I've changed my mind about it completely. I was a huge believer but now I'm steering clear of the coin permanently-it could have a bug which gives it difficult hardware/exchange integration problems.

RE: Nano (XRB) thread (formerly RaiBlocks)
It looks like what happened wasn't a hack or outright theft, but a bug in the Bitgrail code that was allowing people to withdraw more funds than they had on the exchange. The Bitgrail owner (Bomber) didn't report it for months and meanwhile restricted withdrawals which is very suspicious. I think there's a decent chance that Bomber will be indicted for intentionally misleading the Nano team and his customers.

What I'm watching now is seeing how much of the dirt gets onto the Core team, and to the community itself. This is clearly the fault of Bitgrail, but if people feel they were misled by the Core team that will hurt confidence in the coin. So far I haven't seen any wrongdoing by the Core team except some posts on Reddit about the double withdrawals they deleted thinking they were pure FUD.

I'm surprised the price hasn't dipped very much at all, which indicates all the weak hands are already out.
