Dude...we do meet-ups all the time. We've been doing meet-ups for a long ass time and we'll keep doing meet-ups far into the future. We literally have an entire sub-forum dedicated to organizing meet-ups. There's also a huge thread that exists for the sole purpose of documenting meet-ups that take place.



Just because one "official day of meet-ups" didn't work out, doesn't mean that you can't reach out to other members on your own....like we've been doing for years, are continuing to do and do all the time.

I'm a little confused about how someone allegedly smart enough to be a lawyer could be unaware of this.



Jariel didn't meet people because it was unwise for a person in his situation....not because we haven't successfully organized an official day of meet-ups.

Pro-Tip: You don't need permission to meet other members. We do it all the time.

Nothing wrong with having those thoughts, of course, but I think most would acknowledge that could be considered some real odd ball shit. Point is, what purpose exactly has the "vetting" served in such a case? To simply verify that one is a human male who can keep it together over a beer for a few hours? Because clearly in some cases that's all the "vetting" amounts to. It often has little or no connection to the value one has provided to other men on the forum (or elsewhere), or the dude's character. A rep alone stating "Met, had a beer, cool dude" is not really a useful piece of information to others at all really. It's one metric, one which may or may not matter. Reading a dozen posts can sometimes give you a better idea than that. Rawmeo met members as well, and he was an obvious loser who also turned out to be a life-destroying criminal. One could go on.

Sometimes those people are in the same city, sometimes - probably usually - they are hundreds or thousands of miles away. They may meet when circumstances align, or they may not ever. But most still value these connections regardless. I know I do.

Now we're totally off topic, but Philly is a fantastic city for gaming.

It's cheap to live here, there are tons of single girls (because there are like a billion colleges), and you can access the entire place via bike if you want.

MikeC stayed at my place for awhile, and basically said "this is a city where you can live the RooshV lifestyle."

I ended up extremely disappointed as length of term on the forum and the expectations that one would hold of someone coming from this place led to disappointments towards people I gave a shot too.

Hell I'm even responsible for a certain person I should not have given his first rep(and meet up rep more importantly) running around the travel forum meeting guys as we speak.

I removed his rep thankfully, but I hadn't scrutinized his behavior as closely as I should have and only took action later after his heavy lying both to my face and sending things to my phone(my spare line thankfully) that had to result in me even blocking his number. I promptly told as many people that I had a line too to avoid him completely.

There's another member here who has also met a fair amount of guys, but there's a reason he has no reps for meeting up even after being on the forum for longer than I have.

Reading someone's posts is much more aggregate of whether a person's worth meeting up with. The "vetted" part just means it's just easier to get a line to them and that they're guaranteed to be worth your time.

But nonetheless you have to vet carefully and you can't take any chances. It's liable you could lose your livelihoods in a second. Especially in the cultural climate we live in.

If you can't grasp, based on reading his posts, that jariel has had a ton of first hand experience and knows game, you are either a complete newbie or just straight up helpless.

Is it a shame that he wouldn't meet up with people? Yeah, I guess. But how much of meeting up is morbid curiosity and how much is actual life enhancement? As others have mentioned, some people here are a waste of time (I've met 2 or 3 of those myself).

He probably had his reasons. He still left a bunch of excellent A+ posts on this forum which have helped me (and I'm sure hundreds, if not thousands of others) tremendously. Which is more than 95%+ of RVF members have ever done.

Also, unlike characters like The G Man - who boozes, smokes and "swoops" girls until 7am before hopping on a time machine and surfing before sunrise -, I'm not aware of any absurd claims made by jariel. If anyone's seen one, I'll be happy to take that back.

Either way he has definitely benefited this community greatly and in a permanent way - The Only Rule For Ex's, The Real Talk series and many others should be mandatory read for anyone on this side of the web.

I don't know anything about him other that what everyone else can gather from this thread and his other contributions, but whatever he's doing I wish him all the best.
