I used AIM earlier than MSN but MSN was the goldmine for me in highschool. People had phones, some of which could text, but they were not widespread.

1. Already have hot sweet GF
2. Talk socially with other girls during school time
3. Ask for MSN handle. Everyone had hotmail or even aol email addresses
4. Continue conversation by MSN after school ends, mix it up with emails, which were a novelty back then too. Lots of inside jokes, flirting, deep rapport, like talking about serious family problems, deep hopes and dreams, our favorite R Kelly (and other R&B) songs etc.
5. Next day this continues IRL. Some days it is silent because of GFs/BFs/exes/other people in general lurking around, but that just builds the tension.
6. Repeat cycle for a few weeks
7. Get high quality "side piece" that I have struggled to but never hit since I was an idiotic highschool senior, completely game unaware.

It's crazy how the technological, political and cultural environment can literally mean the difference between the days of sweet, pretty, hot 7-8s "gamed", and "gamed" might I add with genuine enjoyment of the process. No I didn't bang every girl I added to MSN, but I made some really great, sweet, genuine friends some of whom set me up with their even hotter friend and would be smiling and cheering me on when she saw me and her friend together, that is what I call a friend who is a girl, girls were actually friends to me then.

I remember thinking, at 18, "wow, if this is what the internet has done already, imagine how brilliant it will be in the future! I can't even imagine the quality and quantity of girls I'm gonna get and it's gonna be so easy! Thank you God for the internet!"

Back then I went on Penpal sites for two countries where I had relatives, and one for french that I was studying at school. The quality on these sites was good. They all had MSN, sometimes we would write actual letters but most was email and MSN, the biggest progress on MSN. Pleasant, beautiful girls. My first taste of "foreign". The only thing stopping me was that I didn't have much money and going to these places wasn't cheap. I had to coordinate with family holidays but there was such trust I knew the girl would show up. She had to give me her house phone number and I would have to call her from the landline where I was staying, to make arrangements for final meeting point.

Compared to those two girls alone I can't hit that quality if I grind my ass off and approach 100 girls in the mall, in Poland. The quality of personality just isn't there due to social media, smartphones and feminism, and the quality of looks can only beat those Penpal girls if you're in a social circle and get lucky.

My only regret is that because it was so good, I was more casual about it, I passed up many opportunities simply because I had other interests and I was not anticipating any decline. This led to complacency. I regret that I didn't "feast" on the buffet that was there before me, because when you're in a golden age, you are often unaware that you are in it until it ends. I mean, it wasn't like hot girls landed on my dick, I thought I put in a fair amount of work, for the quality and quantity I got. This unfortunately would pale in comparison to modern cold approach.

God bless AIM and MSN, and the other early instant messengers. Who knew what they would lead to...
