I was approaching this girl I see regularly (she works at a place I order food) and I asked her "hey, are you done working?" She said 'yes' (uninterested tone) while quickly walking away. Did I do something wrong?

I think that happens to anyone who attempts to talk to bitches...shake it off and move on (is her problem she decides to miss out on talking to a great guy)...I see game like baseball...you swing and you swing until you hit it out of the park!

I hope this is not the first thing you said to her!? This is to direct and aggressive if you are talking to a stranger. You have to build up some comfort before you say stuff like this.

Chit-chat with her a little before you ask her out. Ask her how work is going and stuff like that.

You gotta go in smoother.

You: "So I bet you get asked out a lot when you're on the job here, yes?"

Now, she can say a number of things in response. "Yes, but they are a bunch of jerks mostly"....or "Yes, but I don't go out with customers".

You can come back with something like, "There's always the exception that proves the rule."

Or if she says no, you say something like, "Wow, it looks like most guys who come in here are blind." (It's a combination compliment and establishing your higher status).

Then, you let things progress normally, until you finish up and say to her, "Seriously, I'd love to buy you some coffee some afternoon. Or we could do drinks. now." In this case, I'd give her an alternative. She finishing up work. She's probably tired and doesn't feel very feminine. But maybe she might go for it.

You have to read situations and be clever.

This result or 10 seconds of conversation are what happens in 50% of all walkups for the average gamer. And 95% of the time when you are being snubbed this is the WORST that will happen ie NOTHING. So there's nothing to be afraid of, just keep at it.

Well I wasn't actually trying to flirt, but I was just being 'friendly' with her as I know her from a place I order food.

"hey, are you done working" is just a litle too direct and personal. If you just want to be friendly, say stuff like....

"hey whats up"
"hey how are you"
"hey hows work going"
"what do you recommend"
"how are you today"


I would have said..."I bet you are ready to get the out of here"

Great post, especially the boxing analogy. Makes you realize that you are fighting the girl for the K.O (the bang) and you have to be precise and use the right combo of moves in your arsenal.

Sounds like she would have walked away even if he came at her with a different line. She could have been having a shitty day. Never know.

While 10 seconds isn't a long time to "build comfort" I've found that asking questions that don't have a yes or no or one word answer yields better results.
