I don't remember where I heard it but I thought a wall was being constructed. I also swore President Trump could use military funding but don't remember where I read/heard about that. What better way for Democrats to call Trump a liar in 2020 when the wall, a big visual, isn't up.

More than happy for someone to fact check me. The usual news outlets I read like AC, Sundance, Vox, and this forum (might have been here) aren't ringing bells in my memory.

Nevada went so blue it's disgusting, both in terms of the politics here and also because how poor the GOP representation is.

Even better are our amendments that almost all passed (I voted no on all of them). A real gem is Question 2, which ends sales tax on feminine hygiene products. Cool, let's cut out millions in tax revenue so women can save on tampons, god knows they'll use that money on more productive items like handbags and eating out more.

Well, like I said before, God Bless Trump, who will either miraculously change the course of politics and culture in this country, or who will buy us time to formulate a backup plan.

How are we feeling about these results? I don't think they are too bad, however, a lot of states are not what I expected. There will be some changes coming our way before 2020.

I'm not sure how many are talking about it, but Michigan is Yes on Prop 2 (Create Redistricting Commission) and 3 (Add Voting Policies to Constitution).

Well, if nothing else I think it's fair to say the following.

If the election was the prologue then this was the first chapter, and it's drawn to a close. Trump has a hostile House to deal with now, but he seems to have gotten a rein on his Presidential powers which is no small feat considering the circumstances. It's also fair to say that the House was hostile prior to this election, regardless of how many seats were held by Republicans. I'm beginning to understand why Trump didn't go straight for the wall, no holds barred. Because his own party would have betrayed him, and frankly he knows that the masses are infuriatingly shallow and fickle. This man would seem to have a task like that of Moses trying to lead the feckless Israelites out of Egypt.

It appears that he's going to give America two years of rulership by phone and pen while the Democrats obstruct all legislation. At the end of that he can hope that the public becomes fed up with them, and with luck he'll be able to get a new crop of Republican candidates in to office that will give him four years of solid legislative capacity.

Meanwhile these two years will be well served to be spent immediately appointing an AG with a ravenous thirst for blood who will relentlessly pursue every skeleton in the expansive Democratic closet. Democratic hamstringing of legislative progress coupled with perpetual extreme scandals that not even the MSM and Silicon Valley can spin will put the public in the mood for hangings come 2020.

Personally I think Aurini is correct. This is currently all just killing time before hispanic immigration dips the edge of the boat below the water line. While it's been a wild and somewhat cathartic two years, nothing I've witnessed thus far alters the timeline of that demographic time bomb appreciably, and those polls by race are a clear indicator that there is not going to be any sort of minority uprising in support of Trump. Virtually half of all whites are too dumb to vote past their next payday, welfare cheque or student subsidy, and outside of that racial demographic the increase in stupidity climbs rapidly. Having listened to dozens and dozens of man-on-the-street recordings over the last 24 hours I reflectively note that they fit the statistics Roosh posted entirely. Black women blather endlessly about how Trump is taking America to a hateful place and if black men disagree they're sure not voting accordingly. Latinos sound completely ambivalent to the prospects of the US when the demographics are more like that of the nation they fled to find prosperity. To them, America was founded on magic dirt that the white man has greedily occupied for centuries, and immigration to a spot on that magic dirt is a fundamental right that Trump is unfairly placing barriers against.

The only voices for Trump I heard were white men that sounded jumpy, like they were about to be lynched. The white women interviewed reveled in the chance to press play on their pre-recorded virtue signal track.

All in all it was thoroughly depressing. It's hard to believe that people en masse cannot see through the lies and the bullshit. I would have liked to believe that Trump's election would have triggered a chain reaction of Americans finding their brains and their balls but the result is proof positive that a precious few are starting to get scared of what's coming down the line while the rest are just as completely and utterly fucking oblivious as they ever were. Sad to think that someone thousands of miles away cares more about the fate of their nation and its priceless legacy than most of the people living there do.

My prediction remains that the reckoning is still approaching at more or less the same speed, the outcomes are still balkanization of the US or total slavery, and the only bloodless path will be to accept the latter. Liberty cannot support the crushing weight of that much stupidity when democracy is it's vehicle.

Congressional House elections will micro filters votes. IMO aside from the few flip states, there is little shifting that will take place within these small districts. The 20-30% target range for Black GOP support will come from larger vote catchments such as Governer races, Senate, Electoral College votes.

In these heavily polarised micro-districts, I don't think opposing parties are putting much effort or resources in them. What chance does a GOP house candidate in the dead middle of a district in the Bronx have? Zero? Why would the GOP send that candidate a nickel of support?

No it's not. Incumbency is just an extremely strong advantage that takes an unusual amount of persuasion talent, perfect timing, or both to overcome. There's still a lot left to be counted and the lead could easily flip again. Recall that it was 85% with Tester falling behind. Now it's 90% with him having a lead of 0.3.

Great. Mitt Romney winning in Utah was the general exception to the trend that MAGA republicans won the night while the older cucked wing lost their offices.

All house districts are gerrymanders and by the end of the 10 year redistricting period demongraphic shifts tear them apart. Let's look at a happier example of this.

In Southern Illinois there are three US Congressional districts. One goes from the Saint Louis metro east anchored in riverside industrial cities and runs mostly north designed to lean democrat (With MAGA it went Republican and wasn't a risk of flipping this time). Another is set back from the Mississippi and runs east spreading North and South to the Indiana border as a designated Republican quarantine district (John Shimkus initially supposed he would self impose term limits, but he is so safe that he just keeps running).

Then there is the Democratic Safe district which takes off along the Mississippi River running South through Democrat strongholds East Saint Louis, Belleville, and their suburbs before going to the Illinois deep south and Prison/Coal country. But as Illinois declined Republican Mike Bost won the district in the 2016 MAGA wave surprising everyone who hadn't been watching... the folks democratic strongholds in the metro east figured it was a fluke. The district was designed Democrat safe and the Belleville-East Saint Louis urbanites were sure Bost wouldn't last. Bost won last night by more than five percentage points and had his watch and celebration party a hundred miles to the South in Murphysboro, Illinois.

Murphysboro, Illinois is a fine country town next to Carbondale which is a sad College (SIU) town. Belleville-East Saint Louis is a pile of Urban-Suburban sad used to being gifted a congressman. Now the would-be lesser urbanites have been thoroughly MAGA'd in the ass twice. When redistricting comes around what Chicago hoped would have been 2/3 seats for democrats is 3/3 Republicans.
