I feel like I'm overgaming in accordance to how I look, it seems to rub off on girls the wrong way.

I'm a 19yo student at a Big 10 school. Until about last summer right before college began, I'd been a fat fuck my entire life. Even though I lost a lot of weight way back then I still feel like I am not used to how I look now. Quite a few girls have shown interest in me but I feel like I blow it because I'm being too much of an asshole and cold. I've gotten this tryhard reputation and it's affecting my interactions with pretty much in anyone in general, people (guys too) see me as a joker and give me lots of fake "what's up" and backslaps in a patronizing way.

I'm trying to shake it off, but I don't know how I should calibrate my game. If I'm not cold to a girl, I get lots of shit tests, which I end up brushing off in the most awkward way possible.

How do I go about it?

Just by reading your posts, you're wayyy too eager to achieve your goals... and I'm not just talking about Broads here! Instead of being all over the place, just focus on what you want and take your time!

Drop the cocky funny, and focus on rambling aka talking as long as you can with chicks. Once your learn how to attract them, then cut back in your conversations

Hey OP, im no expert but ill give you my experience. Im a senior at a big party state school.
I've found out that you really have to know how you look and then assess the whole situation for how the girl looks, social environment etc.. I wasn't fat in hs but I look a LOT better in college as opposed to then so I was sort of in the same situation. I'd consider myself pretty attractive, so if the girl is less attractive and its a neutral environment or an environment i'm comfortable in (I have friends around me, i'm at my frat etc..) then i'd generally just act nice and not neg much at all. However if the girls at my level or higher i'd definitely be an asshole, even moreso if I don't have any social proofing (at a bar alone or something).

It's not really something I think about and like I said i'm not an expert, but I have begun to realize it's all situational.

The idea isn't to be "cold," and being an asshole is an advanced step beyond where you probably are at right now. If you're a beginner, goal #1 is to just talk to a lot of girls and get good at rambling/holding a conversation without it being awkward. Be friendly and social. Once you're comfortable with that and you have a bunch of girls in your social circle, then you can worry about working in the aloof asshole persona.

just be social and friendly and practice opening everyone - guys, professors, landscape workers.

throw a kegger, invite people.

knew a dude who who lived in a crappy house just off campus. he passed the hat and bought a keg on a Wed. kept doing, word spread, by the end of the year he had 500 people on his lawn. He would just charge ask $5 for a red solo cup and not let people drink who didn't pay. So he ended up making a slight profit. But the dude became a legend. He wasn't even enrolled, but went to the community college a few miles away, lol.

of course, this was in florida so there were a lot more wednesday nights in a semester where you could have a lawn party than in Big Ten country.

Just by reading title of post, game isn't incongruent because of your "appearance". It has too do with how you act inside. Nothing externally. You can dress up like a freak all you want and pull bitchs of just dress classy and pull bitchs. I prefer the latter of dressing more classy for my style. But whatever style helps you pickup bitchs just do it.
