The players I'd say you could sub either of (((them))) for are Adam Vinatieri, Ty Law, Deion Branch (who all played huge parts in the "earlier" part of this period), and Vince Wilfork.

But Belichick's philosophy as HC and GM is ruthless. You perform at the level you're expected to, or you get the boot–and if you want consistent ultimate success, you forgo the massive contract from another team. This is race-blind, and the two exceptions have been Brady and Gronk, both of whom are generational and all-time talents.
What lefties either fail to understand, or most likely ignore altogether in favor of pathos, is that because a certain demographic does better than others at certain tasks/jobs, there is not necessarily prejudice at play. Nobody wants to talk about the BLSCK QB Bellichdck drafted to succeed Brady (Jacoby Brisket). It's all dumb. Yes, large chunk of NE slots are white but Bellichek favours slot dudes who just happen to largely be white as speed and height isn't a critical need over good hands and grit. Here in Canada most of the slots are white as well, they excel there if they are not as long and fast as the other wideouts. Bellichek also just smarter in using the slots to his advantage as other teams wasted cap space on flashy overrated wideouts (biggest waste of cap dollars, especially if you have no elite QB). Plus you gain more yards going for chunks early in your down sequences. Bellichek has never been that big on RBs unless he has a stud. He prefers to go for chunk yards to keep drives going which is just smarter use of your resources.

Nor Michael Bishop, who got more playing time (however insignificant) than Brady in the 2000 season and was initially favored over Brady to replace Drew Bledsoe.



Never heard of him? He played in eight games that season, went 3-of-9 in passing, then never another NFL snap. Brady went 1-of-3 passing in one game that year.
