Neat summary from Travel Museums.
And fits exactly with what I've observed here, too.
And the old guy gets ...

How long does the sweet talking and courtship take? A few months working on her to get your bang?
I remember running into a couple older guys from places like Turkey and Russia at guesthouses and clubs. They'd get into quick mini-relationships in every place they went in SEA. Spend a few days to a week with a girl.
Said all they needed to do was take them for meals, pay for cabs, some shopping. But I saw some of their girls and they were no prize. They were usually beat up, post wall, post partum types. It was a bit depressing all around to witness the transaction.
So if a 40+ guy wants a girl who's an 8+ in looks what kind of investment is she expecting? I know some of these Thai girls are getting houses and cars. Then shutting the dudes out. How do you avoid that?
Is an under 30 8+ something an older guy can expect to get in Thailand without providing that kind of luxury? Or do you string them along?
I have been in Thailand, mostly in the north in Chiang Mai for combined 2 years. First and foremost, it is very hard to find a Thai girl who is in the 8s range. I find that the few 8s tend to be found in hi-so Thai society which means your regular 40+ dude is out of the runnings to game them (assuming he is chasing an 8+ under 30).
And secondly, in all of my time there, I have NEVER seen a regular 40+ guy who was with a Thai 8. When I do see the older/younger girl combo, the girl is almost always a garden variety 5/6...albeit a skinny one.

I went through Chiang Rai and I was straight up shocked at the Bar Street. It looked like a farang nursing home. All the Thai girls there looked 40+ themselves...
Has anyone ever seen a 40+ foreigner with an under 30 8+ Thai woman?? I've seen them in BKK, but it was P4P stuff in bar clubs. And most of the girls weren't like a solid 8. More like a super slutty slim little dolled up 7 you know is on the cock carousel.
So you don't have any personal experience yourself with younger Thai women? How about the OP?
How about the shame thing? Guys were saying the younger girls in Thailand have ashamed looks on their faces with old guys. Vs EE/FSU where girls are just normal about it?
Any 8+ in SEA has tons of local guys chasing her, as evidenced by my experience with an 8 in Jakarta. Messages hitting every minute, continuous ding ding ding. Blame whatsapp / line / tinder but the internet revolution has hit Thailand and other SEA countries in full force. Heck even in Taiwan a 7/7.5 had messages hitting her phone every couple minutes.
Compare to a local 6, maybe she gets a few messages an hour, and a 5 who gets maybe a couple in a day.
What makes YOU her #1 compared to some Thai upper middle class guy, or some balling farang staying at the St. Regis?
If she just wanted to have a fling, she'll choose some 20's farang visiting, or some good looking EA / local guy.
I've resigned to the fact that any true 7.5+ probably won't stick it out for a long term fuck buddy situation unless they're benefiting in some other way. Thus I always aim for the pump and dump.
Any guy over 40+ needs to confront the realities of their lower perceived SMV, especially now when girls have much more options. The sole exception being perhaps the EEUU or you're in the top 10% in terms of wealth, or you're deling with niche girls who have daddy isssues / like older men.

Guess what? If you move to Thailand you immediately move into the top 10% of wealth if you have any serious income at all. And you're making it sound like EE girls "love you for your soul" instead or something.
Yes, beaten down old simps and chumps end up with a skinny sixes...just being skinny make them sevens and eights in America.
What are they getting in their own countries? NOTHING! Or a fat Two. They're literally doing 3 times better.
If you see some fat pasty guy in cargo shorts walking around with black socks halfway up to his knees, an ugly shirt that barely contains his belly and a weak man's look in his eye walking around with a skinny six, ask yourself how much BETTER you are than him with your trim, trained physique, style and confident manner. Because that's how much better you're going to be doing than him.

RE: Thailand: A good country for older men.
The OP said the bhat is "strong against the dollar?" Not really - check the currency charts for the past ten years as it's about where it was back then, though it's been all over the place in between. If anyone is finding it more expensive nowadays it's not because of exchange rates, it's because of an improvement in the standard of living and other global economic factors, generally.
I've been to Thailand several times, once on a military training exercise in the early 2000s. First thing I noticed in the tourist trap city of Pattaya was how utterly average most of the women were - rarely anything approaching an 8 and one major red flag the OP forgot to warn everyone about - trannies!
Forget the adams apple test - they either don't have much of one or they have it removed. The only sure fire way to protect yourself is to be extra cautious when dealing with any woman who is just a little too taller than the average Thai girl. And watch for the size of their hands & heads too bigger is a bad sign. Then again if you avoid social petri dishes like Pattya, your odds of running into a tranny are greatly reduced.
If the OP is able to live a regular retired lifestyle over there without coming across as some degenerate whoremonger and actually has some regular Thai natives as friends, good for him. The majority of people in his age and ethic group are obvious, loutish and kinda pathetic. As someone pointed out, they wind up with 6s for a good reason - they're lucky to even have that! Back home in Australia, UK or Germany they'd be jacking off into a sock and - if they've got anything left at the end of their monthly pension disbursement/government handout, paying too much for an occasional quickie from some used up 35 year old EE whore down by the train station.
I hear the Thais have gotten stricter about visas and are less kind to foreigners, but that it's also only influencing the kind of loser farangs that add little value to the economy in the first place. I'd be interested to know of older guys who retire over there and pick up a side gig making some extra money - whatever it might be. Teaching English (or perhaps teaching something else at a University), using IT skills, mechanical work, running a small shop, doing some kind of engineering or other training they've had before, etc. These are ways to not only earn money while there (even if part time) but also to greatly increase your status and your chances of scoring someone aside from the illiterate village girls sent to Bangkok from the northeast provinces.
Remember too, no matter how much money you might save, without a social or work network to assist you in knowing the ropes, helping others and being helped when you need it, going over there cold in old age will be like starting from square one all over again just like the new kid in your freshman high school class. The difference is he's got time to build all of that - not the same picture for someone arriving as the new kid at 61 years old. Plan accordingly.

RE: Thailand: A good country for older men.
To anyone who wants to be taken seriously in whatever country that they want to call home :
* Live in an ordinary area
* Get to know everyone around you (residents, business owners, police maybe)
* Make friends, and treat them well
* Get a part time job or volunteer (be seen, and known)
* Dress like everyone else (with your own twist, if you like)
* Minimize any novelty of you being a foreigner asap, by acting like just another thai / filipino, etc. Act like you're a brother from another mother
* Learn the language, and use it as much as possible
* Learn the basics of the country's history and culture, and recent / current events
* Keep any whoremongering to yourself, and do it in another area - be discreet
* Criticize other expats who act stupid
That's not how we do things in Russia, comrade.
