RE: Google internal memo on gender gap triggers everyone
Latest from Voxday :
Quote:First, I'm not applauding the official Google response. Their position is intrinsically and observably absurd; the fact that they are managing to refrain from digging themselves in deeper by going on a witch hunt and burning one of their employees at the stake is merely an indication that someone in the Google executive team possesses at least a minimal amount of common sense. If you want to provide a platform for everyone, then you obviously have to give up any ambitions of playing thought police.
Second, we can see that Google's SJWs are starting to get nervous as evidence of their internal thought-policing begins to leak out into the public. And never forget, they genuinely believe that they are better-educated, as well as our moral and intellectual superiors, because Google only hires the smartest, best-educated people, right? You would almost feel sorry for the executives who have to deal with this nonsense, until you stop and think, what else could have possibly resulted from their decision to hire SJWs and prioritize diversity?
However, the way in which the SJWs immediately go to no-platforming as an ideal response underlines my oft-repeated point about the importance of building and supporting our own platforms.

RE: Google internal memo on gender gap triggers everyone
Does anyone out there want to talk about age discrimination at places like Google? I am 46 years old and have in this god forsaken business for 19 years. I have a 135 IQ and got a 790 on the SAT in math. I am willing to bet you guys anything that I could never get a job there.
Based on this, I wouldn't be surprised at all if there is sexism there. I work in this industry. I know that most of the managers in this business are fucking dickheads, especially the ones at techie companies.
I am not saying there will ever be lots of women in this field. Most women would rather do jobs that involve working with people than working with ones and zeroes.

I've met many women that are very good at math. I'm talking publishing papers on topics that are very difficult to understand for someone who doesn't have years and years of training in math. That level requires discipline, dedication. I'd give up.
In tech ... I don't see women killing it in tech for some reason, although of course there are women that are doing a good job. I think tech can get aggressive and competitive and it's difficult for women to handle that.
The guy that wrote that memo is dumb though. He's getting fired. I bet if he knew that his article would go out and become viral, he wouldn't do it. As was seen with Uber, this stuff can shake companies seriously, I bet a lot of people inside Google are pissed off and scared about what's going to happen. Twitter already censored the "#GoogleManifesto" hashtag.

RE: Google internal memo on gender gap triggers everyone
My current place of work is down with the PC big time, an the women all being uni educated or current students just see it all as normal. It involves some moving a lifting and Manuel work at times, its funny how I am the only one that notices that it is always a male staff member picked for that, the girls moan oh so heavy etc etc. the other day two female staff members had to lift and move a reasonably awkward sort of heavy table that we lift all the time and would not think to ask for help. The females would take twice as long to do the same job.
The girls are fine doing some of the work to, but its is just insanity to pretend that all is the same. We are not nor could ever possibly be equal, we are just different.
Women will only be interested in something because they have to be for a job, male interests extend much more than this, as do women's in certain areas, women arent going to be into tech any more than they are into cars or hunting, sure some are because they have brothers or father taught them etc. But in general they are not.

Any woman who has ever been to the gym should know that there are fundamental differences between the sexes. On a typical day at my gym the MOST fit woman, if she even dares to use the free weights, cannot replicate the set of the LEAST fit man.
Most women will actually admit to this, but then REFUSE to take it a step further and admit that gender differences manifest themselves in non-physical ways as well.

RE: Google internal memo on gender gap triggers everyone
I haven't worked in female dominated fields for a while now but I used to have a lot of fun with it when I did.
I have a sort of a knack for shitlording right on the edge of provability when I'm in person, so when women would talk about female equality I would strike up my best Willy Wonka style meme face and do the whole "tell me more" routine.
Believe me when I say, these morons thrive on locking horns knowing full well that the entire apparatus of the state will white-knight for them and crush anyone who's stupid enough call them out on their bullshit, but one of the few ways to really really get under their skin and make them question their little religion is to just sit there smugly and force them outline the whole stupid concept in detail while providing that niggling but uncertain sense that you think they're a fucking idiot.
For them, their usual spiel either gets total submission (ego rush) or almost immediately someone disagrees and these totalitarian harpies get to go full-retard on them with impunity (ego rush).
But if you subtly undermine their sense of righteousness without providing them with a solid excuse to go apeshit at you then they're forced to actually make their case at length, which in short order begins to sound as ridiculous to them as it does to us.
Eventually they'll be confused that their little sermon has left them feeling oddly hollow and drained. At that point you can get up, flash them a huckster's smile and say "y'know, I just can't wait to see how it all works out."

Lots of people do talk not about this. The topic of the blatant ageism in Tech where trailblazers and forefathers, who self taught and read crappy books in the library to learn programming, are left to rot on the sidelines. Tech today views old folks as a threat, that will instill too.much com.on sense and discipline and essentially end the "party" for many of these reformed needs and autistics who are now the cool kids after growing up be runny nose'd losers.
Once you hit age 40, if you're not in the "club" they view oubas a fossil. Many articles about how when older folks do get on to Tech companies they get treated odd and unfair and many times flash with younger folks inability to communicate and the pervasive passive aggressive style of interaction. Meanwhile, senior manager and execs are barley 30 years old and the old timers can notice critical issues a mile away but there experience is ignored and not valued. It is all completely backwards from how it should be. Old timers have a war chest of knowledge and young people should seek the mentorship and advice from what old people can offer. Why old timers in tech are not brought it, at minimum, as esteemed consultants blows my mind quite frankly.
Typically, these older voices are quiet as they are with families and obligations, maybe they are still involved in Tech in some related capacity but msny are not and are wasting away decades of knowledge and not using it to its full capacity.

RE: Google internal memo on gender gap triggers everyone
I have no public opinion on the actual content of this memo, because I want to focus on what I consider to be a more pressing issue.
How the hell did this guy, who is supposed to be a GOOGLE CODER, have the time to write all this? Only thing I can think of is he was frustrated because there were too many women in his division, and he blamed some lack of productivity on them. In which case, he'd have a much easier time focusing on those individuals' performance individually.
Google letting this leak is ridiculously bad business as well. They are truly taking over, because they are now leading the social discussion as well as the "digital revolution." LOL they co-opted talk-to-type programs, business listings, digital advertising, and now they are challenging Vice and preparing to eat Breitbart as well. Bow down to your new lord and master. Hail Google.
If I was the boss, I'd tell all these idiots to get back to work so that when I searched for "ways to get laid," I wouldn't end up with websites on Sealy Posturepedic fricking mattresses. Hey stupids, the autocorrect is still crap. FIX THAT.
Prepare and execute. Both must be done; neither may be forgotten. God demands that you represent Him properly out in these screetz

Amazing how many tough guys (and "gals") work at Google, from their responses about wanting to punch, attack, beat up, silence, etc the memo writer.

RE: Google internal memo on gender gap triggers everyone
Reading through this thing more carefully, I can see how the guy thought it was a good idea to send. Notice all the disclaimers about how people must still be treated as individuals, about how racism and sexism are still legitimate issues, etc., as well as the equivalencies he draws between left-wing and right-wing biases. All in all, the essay is very carefully measured to be inoffensive to anyone who actually takes the time to read and understand every point. So the guy thinks to himself "If I fully explain where I'm coming from, people will see that I'm just a rational truth-seeker rather and not some kind of raving bigot."
Where he goes wrong is in assuming that SJWs themselves are rational truth-seekers. In other words, he gives his colleagues too much credit, believing that those ideologically opposed to him are still mature enough to make a good-faith effort to comprehend and rationally discuss a mildly taboo point of view. And frankly, while I would never believe such a thing about women's studies majors, I could've easily made the same mistake about Google engineers.
This goes to show that even the best and brightest SJWs cannot be reasoned with like adults, which is a bit surprising.
