RE: Positivity / Good News Only Lounge
I'm in the South of France this summer, so I've had the absolute pleasure to see France's journey to world championship status. Before each impending game, you could feel a palpable energy within every Frenchman; the city was literally buzzing. It was like a crescendo of energy and national pride, each game rising in importance. Everyone put everything aside: there's no work, there're no politicians, there're no tragedies.

And last night they won, they went bananas. People climbing up on street signs, illegal firecrackers going off every ten seconds, I swear to God there was not one second of silence for the entire night. Aux armes, citoyens! On est champion du monde! Tonight when we were drinking on the beach the waves were the highest I've ever seen them at dark. The sea was swelling along with the pride of every man, woman, and child. What a night.

In other news, I had an incredibly personal conversation with a girl in our group last night. It surprises me every time this happens, but sometimes people will just spill it all: their insecurities, doubts, and fears. I have no idea how it even started, but just listening lowers another's walls.

We've all traveled to this beautiful and vibrant city, but she asked me why am I sad like this? I shared with her my thoughts that this life is crazy and it's ok to be sad, regardless of what social media and the like does to our social perceptions and emotional health. She didn't outright say it but it was basically leading to how she thinks she has depression. She said she hadn't told anyone this, I could tell she needed to just let it out. I'm glad I took a second to listen, sometimes you just gotta let it out, man.

RE: Positivity / Good News Only Lounge
On the beginnings of week I usually don´t feel very good, but after work I took a nap and I see things a little bit brigher.

It´s been one and half month since I am in new work. There was an issue that bothered me, because it costed me some extra money. But it wasn´t something corrupted by the company, only things were going different then I planned.
My nearest superior tried to solve this, but couldn´t and tried even unofficial way. Then she pressed on her superrior, who admitted she promised me different and solved the thing in my favor.

I am yet about to see how it feels how to have 3 managers in a row above me females, but now it feels good. I came from military and no one would make any effort in my favor except opportunity to bring me down.

I will add this song. It´s not my kind of music, but I recently discovered his songs have too much positivity in it.

RE: Positivity / Good News Only Lounge
Two days:

Day 1 - Went out the night before, hurting a bit (I was super tired when I went out, didn't actually drink too much). Got my ass up, booked it to take care of some things for side business #1, then off to have an important business meeting with my partners for side business #2 followed by training for our contractors. All went well. I was feeling tired, but pushed through and then went to meet up with a new friend who had 2 Israeli girls waiting to hang out with us and maybe go to the beach and play ball.

Girls spazzed out after one had some drama and they ended up leaving just as I was arriving. Buddy and I decided to check out a local tournament on the beach, ran into at least ten different people that I knew including a couple girls that ended up playing coed with us instead of the lame Israeli chicks. Had a fucking great time, stopped to watch the finals of the tournament and then kept going.

Booked it south over an hour and met up with two longtime family friends/friends of mine who waited up for me. Feasted on various top-tier fish filets, salad, steamed veggies, and hung out with them until passing out. Borrowed some gear I'd forgotten from my friend (saved my ass for Day 2).

Day 2 - On 3-4 hours of sleep I booked it another hour south. My friend was late so we got in the water more than 15 minutes past my dive competition's start time and I'm dying paddling out from the beach on so little sleep and having to hustle. Forgot my liquids and snacks so I dove the whole competition on whatever water I'd drank and the oatmeal I'd lined my stomach with. Poor conditions and barren structure made the comp more difficult than usual, but others seemed to be struggling as well so I kept my head up.

Put in consistent work after moving to a new spot and while resting to hunt a fish out of a hole I lucked into a pair of Aces. Made a hail mary shot on one as it made it's way into the murk and thought I had a crap shot and I managed to get to it and get my arms around it and dispatched it. Finally a decent size fish. Slipped him in the kayak and worked the reef running the clock out. Made it to the beach with only a few minutes to spare. Ace fish managed to go heaviest and I won the comp.

Spend the late afternoon and evening fileting fish, then eating perfectly prepared fish with amazing side dishes overlooking the ocean from a friend's family's home relishing the sunset, the bounty of our catch, and the warm company. Drove 2 hours north, dragged equipment and filets out of the truck inside, passed the fuck out.

This morning I left myself enough time to unload/wash out the kayaks and my gear in the morning sun (loving the cool spray off the garden hose) and made it on time.

Happy Monday!

Sum of positivity:

Moved up in my job, fewer hours, better pay, work from home.

Went out with my main over the weekend. Visited a cultural site, went for a light lunch, went to an antique shop, found an old record from one of my favorite folk bands from the mid-century. Then went to an ale house and joined in an impromptu music session after meeting old folks who knew my family and some important figures from my youth.

Sat through class last night, then went to nap before getting more work done. Ended up going to bed early then waking up very early, getting work done. Now I think I'll go for a run, lift some weights, then get back to work.

For the last couple months I've been following the advice in a few forum threads and I've been doing a very low carb or keto diet along with intermittent fasting / time restricted eating. I've had a few challenges, especially getting enough calories, but overall it has gone very well.

I've studied various aspects of health and fitness for a long time but the one thing I've always been missing is an in depth understanding of the best nutrition plan for me, which is partially due to nutrition information being so convoluted and contradictory. I'm grateful for being exposed to these concepts on the forum because I think it was final piece of the puzzle for me.

Woke up early and stayed up. My house cleaner came early so I hung out talking to her and playing a bit with her baby (she jokes he's my nephew) and helped her get the place picked up from a recent fish taco BBQ. Sorted through a bunch of things for myself and packed them up, made some coffee to continue my work-morning fasts (not every work morning but many), and took off to pick things up for my work before heading in. Made some important phone calls on the drive and hit the ground running. I have some travel/side business conferences coming up and then a bachelor party so I'm getting things all lined up to run smooth business-wise while I'm gone. Somewhat boring day, but enjoying the productivity (and I gotta say, playing with the baby is fun...he's real chill/happy).

Tomorrow I give my bro a ride to the airport and then it'll be Happy Friday!

Yesterday I got on train at 0600 AM and went 3 hours to mountaints. Not something very high, more like hills, but we use to call that mountains. When I got out of train, I even didn´t know, which way to go. It was foggy and raining. I found a route to bottom and when I started to gain altitude, I got adrenaline and happiness rush. I took few shortcuts and showed up in dark forest full of fog. I continued uphill and suddenly old wooden cathedral come from the fog just in front of me. I was at the first peak. When I got to statue of slavic god Radegast, first sun rays made their way through clouds. I continued on ridge and reached even higher peaks. I knew I am in time press, but I wanted to see always a little bit more and more. Then the fog dissappeared and sun started to shine. I wish I could see another peak, but I had 3 hours remaing to make my way back, this way took me 6 hours before. I did got back through same way and enjoyed all the views, that were covered in the fog before. I knew I am not gonna make it with walking, so I had to run big part of the journey back (otherwise I wouldn´t catch the train and couldn´t go to work this morning).
Totally I did 50 km with some difficult gradient and terrain. I arrived at night, felt asleep immediately and today, I feel like I got back from vacation, that lasted few days. It was so simple, so short, but amazing.

RE: Positivity / Good News Only Lounge
Started a new hobby in cave exploring/spelunking. There are a couple canyons an hour's drive away from me, and they are absolutely filled with caves to find and check out.

I'm a complete newbie at this and decided to spend time developing skills gradually until I can conquer some really daunting and difficult-to-access caves. That would involve getting better at rock climbing, brushing up on tying knots for repelling, and learning deep cave navigation.

First step to this was heading out to a canyon this weekend and camping out in a cave I found hiking Friday afternoon. Got to get in a little bit of rock climbing too.

Overall, a really fulfilling caveman weekend. (Pics I took of the cave/area below.)

Weekend was great. Worked Saturday, took my main girl out saturday. Dinner, shopping, the works, stayed over at her place for hours during a thunderstorm.

Yesterday helped my buddy move his sister into his duplex. Had a great evening playing games with bros.

Today, getting back to school and work.

Tomorrow, a friend of mine is coming over. I've known him for a couple years. He just got engaged, and is moving with his fiancee a few hours away at the end of the week. We are going to lift weights, drink mead, and play games.

My buddy came over today. We lifted hard, ate big burgers I grilled, drank mead and beer, played games, and had a good time in general. I miss him already. He's only moving a few hours away, but still. I'll go and visit him when I can. Only known him a couple years but he and I became close very quickly. I'm proud to see where he's been and where he's going. He's gonna have me as the best man at his wedding, and I'm honored. Here's hoping I'll be ready for it when it comes.

Went to Vegas for work, drank a good bit (but not too bad considering the location), and managed to eat fairly healthy. Got in two gym sessions, a couple games of sand volleyball, finished top 3 in a small poker tournament, and made up the money I lost in craps at the poker cash game and even made profit beyond getting even.

It's Wednesday and the week is good!

Nice. I only gamble with a pre-established number in Vegas, prepared to lose it all (couple of hundred bucks, more or less). That way the trip is always a winner.

I helped a group of American tourists get to their destination by helping them figure out their public transport routes and times. I have been there myself on my travels so it was nice to help others in a similar position.

I come to the kitchen... and see that she is baking a pie. In a yellow summer dress.

Yes, that´s the statue I´ve mentioned. Have you been there?

A week ago I had some kind of physical collapse and couldn´t move for 2 days. I thought it´s some kind of disease, probably from infected tick. But turned out it was just probably exhaustion.

The most important thing to me this summer - I booked a flight ticket for me and my friend to Serbia. Last time we were in Kosovo on Easter. and we said we must get to Balkan as soon as possible and here it is. I hate planned entertaiment, so we will see at the place, what we will do. We are going to finnish this trip on Bulgarian beach full of pretty Russian tourist girls.

Just found this thread today. +1 to PT for a great thread and what seems to be a great outlook. Gratitude is very powerful, and so is mindset.

There’s a lot for me to be happy with right now, but for now I’ll just say that over the last couple of months my biz has really turned a corner that I didn’t think possible only a couple years ago. And this is not cause it’s so so so much money, but more because I had such a limited way of thinking a couple years back. Better outlook + more money = winning.

RE: Positivity / Good News Only Lounge
I recently had an excellent relationship with a girl. The relationship wasn't permanent for a few reasons. Mostly because we won't be living in the same city. However, it was a very positive experience for both of us and positive for me in many ways.

The girl is feminine, has a supportive personality, and is very intelligent. It was a good experience for me to have a positive relationship that went deeper mentally and emotionally than I am used to. Also, I've changed some things with my game, developed some new ideas, and done some things a little differently than the manosphere sometimes encourages guys to do. This relationship was an indicator that I've been doing the right things for me.

This forum can be an interesting place sometimes. I tend to disagree with people on the forum a lot but hopefully people realize I'm doing that as part of a desire to learn, improve, and help other guys learn and improve. However, I also tend to agree a lot with the forum guys that I know personally and there seems to be a difference between game on the forum and game off of the forum. Meeting guys from this forum has been a big help to me and I recommend for other guys to develop stronger relationships with forum members offline if that is something they have the opportunity to do.

I just came out to my family as gender-splendid, and it feels great. We had grilled cheese sandwiches to celebrate.

RE: Positivity / Good News Only Lounge
Just got 2 jobs for the summer. One at a festival for a week to help set it up. Another as a caterer for bars, restaurants and concerts. I haven't had a proper job since last year so this is good news, it will also help me become more confident as I am forced to interact with people.

RE: Positivity / Good News Only Lounge
Might not sound positive at first, but bear with me.

I just had the health scare of my life so far. Came home from the emergency room a few hours ago in the middle of the night.

Background is I did a few blood tests on Wednesday. Yesterday my doctor calls me in the afternoon sounding a bit stressed. ”We found abnormal values in your blood tests. It’s indicating hyperthyriodism but you need to go to the emergency room right now and get checked out”.

So a bit shell shocked (”abnormal values” and ”emergency” going on a Jumbotron in my head), I tell my colleagues to handle the rest of my own patients as I need to go to the hospital. One of my colleagues, seeing how far I am from my usual happy manner, offers to drive me to the hospital.

Then follows 1 hour of agonizing wait and worry (I broke down a bit crying 30 secs in the waiting room since I had no idea what the F is going on) then 7 hours of blood tests, waiting, ECG, waiting, worrying, then I meet a doctor.

Turns out that I have hyperthyriodism of unknown cause, which has also started affecting my heart. This shit explains a lot of the past 4 years for me which I attributed as normal and part of my personality. The heart thing explains exercise intolerance and a resting pulse between 75-90.

They will continue testing and I will meet an endocrinologist for a while.

Why is this positive?

First off, I finally have a diagnosis after going in and out of primary care a few times the last years.

Second, it’s definitely treatable. I just hope my heart is not fucked up for life. Before I got to talk to a internal medicine doc, the words cancer were ringing in my head.

Third, and most profound, is what happened to me during the hospital stay. Priorities get radically re-arranged. I don’t know if I’ve fully accepted everything that happened in the last 20 hours, but I know that I want to F this thing in the ass and go on with a normal life. There are way worse things that can happen.

Four, I get to ask the endocrinologist for some extra testosterone. ”Hook me up with some of dat trenbologna please I feel so bad” hehe.
(That was a joke by the way)

I’m 27 and thought I was a healthy dude. Young guys reading this that have something about their health not 100%, GET CHECKED OUT. Just do it man.
