Long time ago, must have been three years now, I read about a guy doing a "cook to bang". That might even be the name of his website/brand. I remember about "coconut chicken". It's easy to make, you can't mess it up, it tastes good.
The central idea behind a cook-to-bang is:
- Choose a dish with a 30 - 40 minute baking time.
- Buy wine
- Might have her join you at the grocery store, if she's hesitant to come straight over
- Put her to work in the kitchen chopping things
- Get close to her physically, touching her hands, arms
These days I don't do a second date of "cooking dinner" for reason I'll explain later, but I'll do it in a couple situations:
- If there's a girl I've already banged once and I'm getting tired of the usual "drinks" dates and want something different.
- A girl who I've been on three dates with and still haven't banged, I'll do a "let's cook up a meal date".
I'll invite her over at 7, which usually means she comes closer to 8.
The entire purpose of a cooking date is that after she drinks wine on an empty stomach, and after you've chopped things up, you put whatever you cooked in the oven for 30 - 40 minutes. You have 30 or 40 minutes to ... fill in the blank.
After the meal is in the oven, you invite her upstairs. And reminder, choose
something that bakes in the oven, because you don't want to have to "watch" something on the stove. You need 30 - 40 minutes of unattended time.
You invite her upstairs.
It's fun for her because she'll be turned on from cooking with you, and you'll be turned on, and usually it just escalates quickly.

What do I cook?
Again, as mentioned, there's that cook to bang advice about a "coconut chicken recipe", which I'm sure you could find on Google.
I do a Mediterranean vegetable dish with feta. It's kind of like a pizza, but looks and tastes better.

I might text her one afternoon with, "Hey do you like Mediterannean food?". After she says yes, and then I follow with "Cool. I'm going to cook up this dish and serve it with wine, want to help out on Friday." Save Friday to actually hammer out a time.
On Friday, might text her around noon, with "hey how's 7 pm?"
Like BlurredSevens suggests, if you haven't slept with her yet, don't text her your address until she's heading out. So day of:
"Text me when you're heading out and I'll send you my address."
(Or you can meet her at the grocery store. Whatever you think makes sense for the particular girl and situation.)
I like this dish because it's easy to prepare, it's healthy, you can find all the ingredients at any grocery store, and all you need for cookware is a glass casserole dish.
I also like it because it only takes about 20 minutes to prepare in total, the girl is doing the chopping for you, and it has the 40 minute cook time where you head upstairs...
I once had a girl tell me once we got upstairs and started fooling around, "Oh let's wait for 'this' after we eat."
DON'T DO THIS.
Nobody wants to have sex right after they eat. I didn't give in, and we smashed 10 minutes later.
Once it's been about 40 minutes, go check on the dish, get two plates ready, toast some bread, and serve. Voila.
This dish is extremely tasty, and visually looks really good. The aforementioned girl took about a dozen pictures once we went outside to eat on the porch with our glasses of wine. It also stores well as leftovers. It's basically a perfect dish.
Bon Appetit.
Addendum:
The cook-to-bang works well on a (3rd) date with a younger girl 18 to 20 years old, if you didn't bang the first date. These girls can't go to a bar, so it's a good way to drink and have fun.
I put 3rd in parenthesis because:
a) if she's 18 - 20 she's usually down to hook up on the first date
b) Sometimes you can do dinner and bang on a 2nd date, sometimes you should wait for a 3rd. You have to calibrate around her interest level.
P.S. I don't recommend you invite a girl on a first date to your place to cook. More generally, I don't recommend any first or second date that originates at the house. It's just as easy to meet in public, go to one or two venues, and end up at your house. It doesn't scare the cat that way. BlurredSevens, if he was still active, would disagree. However, he's leveraging top 1% of guys in terms of photos on an online profile, and great text game over a few weeks. Some chick you exchange numbers with at the bar on Saturday night isn't on a first date going to come directly to your house.
