I have not been to Norway yet. I have been doing research for a future trip. I don't think the high cost should keep you away. Just make sure you know what you are getting yourself into beforehand.
Take hotels for instance, if you plan ahead you can save money. If you travel for work, try to concentrate your stays with the Carlson chain (Radisson, Park Inn), Best Western, Choice (Comfort Inn, Quality Inn). Earn points in your home country, burn them in Norway. Your hotel stays in Norway won't earn points AFAIK. Do some research first.
For a quick primer on hotel points and promos visit Loyalty Lobby or Flyertalk. If you have status with a different chain, try to do "status match" to upgrade your status with a chain I mentioned, that way you can earn more bonus points for your trip to Norway. Don't go in the dead of Winter.
Also, Norwegian Air has direct flights from LAX to Oslo believe it or not.

I have read some of the responses which are very good. Many others are fiction and evident that the posters spend all of their time blogging on different websites (like this one), however truly do not get out into the real world much, therefore have nothing to add outside of cynicism.

For some unknown reason, many folks here believe that the women of Norway are unapproachable and too difficult to land. Considering these same posters are recommending the red-light districts of Thailand and brothels of Bogota, Colombia, my advice is to not bother with some of the more evolved places in the world.

That being said, for those of you with something on the ball, I fully recommend both Oslo and Bergen, Norway as an adult Disneyland to adventurous men! Allow me to first establish a barometer for those who assert that Oslo is too difficult to conquer femme-fatales. I am from Orange County, California originally. I have never had difficulty with women, however, for anyone trying to compare Oslo, Norway to Orange County, California in the way of landing hot, tall, busty blondes – knows nothing. For example, anyone who has ever frequented “Sutra” in Costa Mesa, CA or “Ten Nightclub” in Newport Beach, CA knows that these are two of the premiere clubs in the entire USA - filled with some of the most beautiful women you can imagine. I once frequented both these clubs often, especially “Ten Nightclub”. It was definitely, GAME on! I had great luck with the ladies here. Did I ever have empty handed nights? Of course, however these clubs are excellent hunting fields for developing your game. Once you get your routine down, you are ready for anywhere on the planet! The one thing I never did – was show up to the club with a defeatist mentality – however, always optimistic at the evenings end I would not depart alone. This being said, you cannot even remotely compare “Ten Nightclub” or “Sutra” to the clubs I visited in Oslo. Considering the Norwegian women are perhaps 2x – 3x more promiscuous than the ladies at the Orange County Clubs, and have an affinity for Americans, leads to an excellent opportunity for any western foreigner with something on the ball. “Uncle Fester” will not be successful no matter how developed or accomplished his game is – just a harsh part of life.

When I was working in Ulaanbaatar (UB), Mongolia, I became friends with many young professionals either contracted through the mining corporates, or working in the renewable/alternative energy field. We would often meet at some of the local cafes and pubs in UB to share our experiences. One of my friends, also an engineering consultant, had formerly worked with the Swedish Government re: a restructuring of their public transit system. He was a tall, good-looking guy, confident and good-natured. He advised that he had great luck with the women of Sweden, because he was successful, interesting, had the needed physical qualities and a promising career path. It is the same for Oslo, Norway. I have tried to be very clear, if you want to score a tall, busty blonde from Oslo, then you need something going for you in addition to the right approach. For those who may be somewhat physically challenged, then you may have to set your sights lower. However, when I continually hear commenters suggesting traveling to underdeveloped countries such as Colombia, Poland, Philippines, Ukraine, etc. My answer is why? Or that the cost of traveling is less expensive, therefore, justifies not traveling to more developed regions of the world. This is admitting that you lack the qualities and the game to be successful in other parts of the world (i.e., Scandinavia), when just the opposite is true. Confidence is an aphrodisiac for Scandinavian women. Hold your head up high, be proud (they do not like sympathetic girly-men), and No Small Talk! Get deep to the matter quickly, ask probing questions about them, their lives, dreams, etc. Scandinavian women are intelligent and will size you up rather quickly. If you bounce girl to girl, moving too quickly, and tipping your hand that you only want a “quickie”, then they will blow you off, and not in a good way. If you have a promising career path, ensure they know that – do not be afraid to let them know that you came to relax and meet interesting people (do not look overly interested in sex). As I said earlier, they enjoy hearing tales of your life’s adventures (i.e., the time you traveled to Tuscany to wine taste, or Alaska, where you were flown into an abandoned Miners cabin as a homebase to hunt Moose, etc.). If you come across as a mysterious American with many interesting secrets, your game will increase tremendously.

I have been asked how I was successful 17 out of 22 days during my stay in Norway. Firstly, my goal was not to meet life-long friends; I was there to experience tall, buxom blondes in a carnal way. I should also mention that I went looking for tall, buxom blondes from Oslo on Facebook (FB) who met the criterion I find attractive (I strongly, strongly recommend this approach). If you follow some of the suggestions I have given, I promise you the high cost of visiting Oslo will be well worth it, as the quality of ladies you will spend time with are on a different plane. Oslo is not for everyone. If you are on a fixed income, living paycheck to paycheck, or lacking attractive physical qualities, then this may not be the place for you. However, for those of you who have had good luck in Finland, Germany, Sweden, Austria, Estonia, Latvia, Czech Republic, then I cannot recommend enough you try your luck in Oslo. I am glad I did!

OP, you say you just recently were in Oslo? I googled Fugazi as I had never heard of it, and it seems it closed down back in 2012. There's now a social workspace/bar/cafe type place called Mesh on the same address, and apparently some club called Seeds above, but this also seems to be inactive, from what I gather with a quick google search.

Also you say you hit all the top places known as meat markets, without mentioning any of the places I consider being well known as meat markets (Blå and The Villa are very well known clubs, however).

I've been to Oslo almost 3 years ago and it was fantastic. I'm a typical brazilian, light brown skin, 5'9 and athletic body. I managed to pull 3 girls (one each day that I went there). The girls were gorgeous and probably the best (looking) that I will pull in my life.

Unfortunately I was a poor a student and I couldn't afford a hotel hence no bangs were done.

Can you give a breakdown of night venues (i.e. which nights were the best for the clubs you hit)? I was in Oslo during Easter and many of the clubs were dead. Despite the bad timing, I liked the city and the women. I see the potential that Oslo has. What month were you in Oslo?

And this is all relative to the difficulty and frequency that one can score with regards to the Anglosphere; which the critics are comparing Norway to in terms to being as bad as. Put that further in perspective of any perceived undesirable traits — masculinity, 'bitch-shields', unpleasantness, sluttiness — as a metric against women from elsewhere that you likewise covert or abhor.

I don't think many on this thread are suggesting that Norwegian women are all ugly. We've established that you can find beautiful women even in the depths of Papua New Guinea or Lesotho, and that anywhere can be a man's sexual playground given his pool of resources.

What is a strawman though, is the idea that Norwegian women are among the most difficult in the world to score, relative to ROI put in and competition from the local men.

Even though OP is a troll, I didn't mean to discourage anyone from coming to Oslo. Actually I was gonna defend him (before I read his posts more closely) and say his claims aren't so outrageous, based on my own results. On my last 9 nights out (only thu-sat, weekdays have options but not as easy), I've pulled six times, plus the odd midweek bang from Tinder or a bar number close. I haven't daygamed at all, and only used Tinder sporadically, and there are certainly plenty of guys with better game and looks than me.

However, there have been times where I got 0 out of 9 nights (although a long time ago). It depends a lot on the time of year also, it gets a lot easier here during summer months from my experience.

The thing is, because of the high cost most guys here just pass through Oslo a week or so, compared to 1-3 month stays in places like Kiev, Belgrade, Poland etc. So their results will be a lot down to luck and timing.

Unfortunately I won't be here in September, but if anyone are coming to Oslo the next month, hit me up.

The place is the most expensive place I have been to besides Zurich.

At the time I went, I was living in the UK. The conversion from pounds to their money was brutal, I cannot imagine the conversion from dollars.

I was near Oslo two years ago (Sandefjord) and girls were amazing. I am exactly into this type of girls, blue-eyed blondes. Their average figure is maybe a little curvy, but not in that sense they wouldn´t be fit. I am not sure if I can decide at this moment, but when I got back, I was totally sure, that the most beutiful and the sweetest women are in Norway.

I spent a decent amount of time in Norway, but never in Oslo. When people speak of Norwegian girls being stuck up, I could not disagree more. Of course there are some, but actually what I saw was mostly very down to earth and genuinely cool chicks to be with. In fact, they kind of have to be that way (again outside of Oslo at least)

Why?

Because EVERYTHING is expensive there. A woman simply will not go very far by cock-teasing, because very few men are willing to drop huge amounts of money. Taxis are expensive, drinks are expensive, and guys are not rich there, and they are also very used to the women and don't give them any special attention. So consequently the Yougoguuurrrrllll attitude simply doesn't exist, because nobody will fund it. Yes they are very progressive politically, but I found them, almost to a T, extremely nice and approachable. My game is not very strong and I am not good looking. Norwegian people in general are actually some of the most humble and unassuming folks I've ever met. Less disposable income= less shallowness.

The women there have great senses of humor too, and like SF alluded too, if you simply just bring something decent to the table, be it humor or slightly abnoxious American attitude you would be fine.

Again, perhaps Oslo is a different story. All I'll say if I could go anywhere to study, I'd think long and hard (long and hard... he he) about Trondheim.

That said, I went to Stockholm once, and I do not have a lot of good things to say about the women there.

I too was going to defend the OP, based on the fact that many scandinavian girls (but not all) will be open to a onenightstand, and if it is with a tourist she dont have to deal with any potential awkwardness in the next day(s). Oslo might be the capital, but you`ll be surprised how small the city really is. You will run into your ex again, and girls would rather not run into their last one night stand again.. unless they want more of him, but thats a different story..

I would also defend him because Fugazi was a cool ass club. The few times i went to seeds it was pretty empty there. For sure theres nothing going on there on weekdays.
Mesh has some decent cultural events that could work on a tinder date if you are using the time machine (many locations on the same date to create the feeling of having been on many dates together already)
Other than that, i`d take my ass elsewhere. Blå might work but is not a magnet for these blonde babes, neither is the villa, thought it is a very high quality club, built somewhat like a cave, for those into house/trance music.
Åpenbar is closed down as well, and i had to google that one.
And i doubt any locals would have any interest in going to the plaza skybar, tourists yes but if you live in oslo then it makes no sense.

And i guess you could hit up random babes on facebook and make it work, but that tactic probably worked better when Fugazi was still open (2012), especially since even stupid blonde bitches have been reading the newspapers for years filled with stories of fake facebook profiles, scammers ect and everyone here seems to claim norwegian girls are intelligent and cultured.
You better have amazing profile photos, thats for sure.

One thing for sure worth mentioning every time, you want northern blondes come here april-september. mid may-mid june and mid-august to first week of september is the absolute best time as many norwegians go on vacation from mid june to early august.
