I have to admit I really got agitated when Obama got elected, but I wasn't much of a fan of McCain either. The thing that I disliked the most about Obama was that he was a junior senator for only 3 years and he had the one of the most liberal voting records out of any senator. Although I liked McCain for his courage in the Vietnam war, I couldn't reconcile the fact that he was always flip flopping on just about every issue. I also disliked the fact that he owns 11 houses (some rentals) according to the NY Times. Obama seemed absolutely incensed by the topic of race. He attended a black liberation theology church where Jeremiah Wright was a minister. For those that don't know Jeremiah Wright is a preacher who lives in a multi-million dollar mansion, far, far away from where most of his poverty-stricken followers live.

Ron Paul seemed to be the only qualified candidate. He was a a former doctor who wanted to get out of the wars in the Middle-East. He was also by far one of the most principled politicians in DC politics. In addition to being a doctor and politician, he was also a devout Baptist who was active in his community. He might've not have had ringing endorsements from Hollywood, and he might've not of been a fantastic speaker - but he knew how to captivate an audience. He also lived quite modestly compared to other politicians. Last time I checked he lived in a $325,000 house. He also had a net worth that was smaller than both McCain and Obama.

I might've been a Yankee, but I really liked his politics. This did not earn me friends in school though. I often got insults hurled at me for espousing support for such a candidate. I also saw scores of students with their Obama t-shirts trying to act all edgy and cool. To top it off, there reasons for supporting Obama were all superficial. Furthermore, a lot of them were white upper-class and some of them had very little class. I knew a ministers daughter who was a huge Obama supporter, and she seemed to play devil's advocate on just about every issue. I often would get physically hit by people for some of the things I said.

All because of this I did what any depressed person would do. I isolated myself.
-I played video games too much.
-I surfed the web too much.
-I read liberal and conservative forums too much (some posters were probably repressed lesbian-feminists and repressed gay-men mgtowers)
-I drank too much.
-I got hungover way too much.
-I got TMJ
-I watched some dark and narcissistic TV shows (Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, Mad Men, The Sopranos, Vikings)

-I sought very little companionship from women because many of them were busy championing gay marriage, social justice issues and embracing the party lifestyle. I acknowledge that Gays and Lesbians are not necessarily bad people per se, but problem is a Gay men cannot conceive a child with another Gay man, and a Lesbian woman cannot reproduce with another Lesbian woman. I acknowledge that Straight people can stray from the path of God as well by living a life of hedonism.
Personally, I could care less if someone is gay. The terms homo-phobe and homo-sexual are non-binary. Are attractions change over time. Players and whores are basically two sides of the same coin.

- I bottled up my emotions.
- I ran and worked out too much
- I made some pretty short-sighted decisions.
- I made lousy investments in certain things that I later had no use for.
- I held grudges.
- I burned some bridges with friends and family.
- I had constant anxiety issues.
- I watched porn.
- I shirked some responsibilities.
- I had delusions of grandeur.
- I didn't attend church because I believed lot of the sermons were really dry and some of the sermons seemed a bit cheesy.
- I idolized people that did not deserve to be idolized.
- I listened way too much to music with subliminal messages.
- I didn't volunteer much like I should've because I felt like a lot of people had instilled insecurities in me as a kid.
- I got diagnosed with Bipolar depression.

I ultimately got sent to the hospital and I literally felt like I died like death had glazed over me. I really do believe it was Jesus who resurrected me from the dead. It also helped that I had a female Neurosurgeon. I might've previously been against women being in the workplace before because I had a workaholic mother myself, but I would like to thank the female doctor for saving me. Now, I don't want to blame all of this on Obama because the important thing to point out is we are all human. We all have committed good and evil and we have all learned from our mistakes. I might have not of agreed with Obama on many issues, but I did read his book and I did make some endearing friendships with some of his supporters.

I regret obsessing about the enormous market crash, politics, and all the other negatives.

More time should've been spent on improving myself and getting something going on the side.

You know what I was doing during the Obama administration?

• I was finishing up my university degree (having the piece of paper and the valuable education that came along with it will certainly benefit me in marketing myself in the future when I move from the mix of work I do now to fulltime consulting work).
• I was busy learning Chinese. This has paid off more than I could have predicted in the quality of life it provides me.
• Getting working experience and developing a skillset, which is the primary reason I earn the income I do. I'd be earning half of what I do otherwise.
• Working on my game, perfecting my form of the two venue restaurant-cocktail lounge date.
• Working on my wardrobe. Learning to be well dressed and comfortably myself at the same time.
• Got my dick sucked.
• Visited and fell in love with Hong Kong.
• Met and developed business ties with a few people who I now work very closely with.
• Learned party-host game and earned the most natural and comfortable lays of my life as a result.
  

I regret nothing.

Effect that the Obama presidency had on my life and where I currently am: Zero. Would have made the exact same choices with the same results regardless of who was president.

You mentioned that you isolated yourself. Do you think that you are still spending too much time on the internet? No offense but some of your threads make me think you may be spending too much time online and not enough in the real world. Internet addiction is a real thing which helps perpetuate a downward cycle.

I bought 10 ounces of silver @ $32 thinking it was a good low to buy. It's now at $15. Otherwise I spent too much time freaking out about doomsday shit, reading Michael Ruppert's "Collapse" and swirling around in an apocalyptic depression "fuck it" mindset instead of focusing on my own self improvement. Did too much psychedelics and lost my grip on reality searching for the "ultimate truth" which was just inches away, just gotta trip a little harder...

For me, that time was great and just keeps getting better. Grew from a hapless Beta into a successful man, hustled hard and developed a diverse and independent career, traveled all over the world and became a much wiser person.

There might have been some bumps along the way, but I regret nothing.
