Sure, Bahia may be the state of Brazil with the higher % of black people in the population, as it was historically the major port of the country regarding slave trade with Africa.

But be aware that Salvador metro area has 4 million people and is a poor region in general. So you also find ugly and fat black chicks in mass (the poorest a girl is, less money will have to eat well, dress fine or go to the gym). It´s good to warn you that, so you don´t get disappointed. Titus thanks for warning me about how poverty can affect the quality of girls. I have heard and seen videos of a lot of stunningly beautiful brown - dark skinned Cariocas. Only to be disappointed when I find out they are either pros or semi pros.

I passed through there by Uber on the way to the leme fort which has a gray view. Why don’t you look for something in Botafogo? It has a bar scene that got me laid.

It won't be an issue, leme is definitely worth it to save on a little cash...it's still prime real estate considering how big Rio is, it's not ghetto at all, its Copacabana... (A 70s paradise.. getting old but still good). I've always lived in Ipanema but it's more expensive. Leme is all good though! Dont worry about favelas, you get them everywhere, even in Ipanema. Many guys live even further around Botafogo and langareiras. Heck, even tons of people skip the "zona sul" all together and stay bang in the middle of party central in Lapa. I'd highly recommend staying around the beaches though and cabing it to the party areas... Much more enjoyable

Yes Leme has a favela on the hills. Pacified means nothing. All pacified favelas in Rio have gangs with guns. Also the one in Leme.

Leme is considered a quieter/family beach, though it still has some big hotels.

Leblon is nicer than Ipanema and Ipanema is nicer than Copacabana/Leme. But I wouldn't say that Copacabana/Leme is a shithole in Rio. Leme is definitely doable, though it also depends what you're looking for.

Even though Ubers are cheap, I still like to be close to a metro station in Rio for convenience. And Leme's closest metro station (Cardeal Arcoverde) is a little walk, which can be annoying in the summer heat. That's a minus for Leme.

And that can be the case if you came from Medellin, where the average paisa is much more feminine, cute and skinny than the average carioca... Not sure what difference the time of the year makes but I stayed there around March-June.

I was living in Leblon (had an impression that average age here was around 45-50).

I was haning out mainly in Ipanema beach since Leblon was occupied by an older crowd.

I really like hunting in the malls and cafes and that was a nightmare. I was excited for Shopping Leblon Mall, because they have some very good quality stores and usually in these kind of malls the average looks of girls are very high. Not the case in Rio tho...Any time I went there I really wanted to start taking pictures how ugly women can be...Every time I was texting my friend saying that it is the last time I went there cos I literally couldnt find a single spot to approach for hours.

Lol obv I wasnt hitting on these taken girls intentionally, but I never met with such an agro-beta jealous reactions as in Brazil.

There was a former RVF member named Chochemonger who's mom visited Rio couple years back. Even his mom ripped on the decline of Carioca women in Rio. Feminism has a lot to do with this IMO.

Nevertheless, there are still pockets of hotties in Rio as knowing Portuguese should help tremendously.

If I understand you correctly. You are telling me that Rio Dijenero a Tier 1 International destination city has nothing but fat and ugly girls? I find that impossible to believe.
